It's a Halo title. What did you expect?
Official Music
Kazuma Jinnouchi of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker fame takes over composition duties from Marty O'Donnell.
- The 2015 beta menu music, finalized as "Halo Canticles", is a mournful variation on traditional Halo themes.
- "Light is Green", the epic track used for Fireteam's Osiris' opening cinematic. It slowly starts out with a short Lonely Piano Piece for the mission briefing, before the horns and violins take the spotlight, successively joined in by drums, chimes and electronics. The orchestra then lifts up as the iconic Halo 5: Guardians logo is displayed and Fireteam Osiris comes around wreaking havoc across the battlefield.
- "The Trials", combining the melodies from Halo: Combat Evolved's original theme and Halo 4's "117" to introduce Blue Team as they proceed to board the Argent Moon, and later for their final battle through hordes of Prometheans to reach Cortana. It's easy to see why it would have been later included in the tracklists for Forza Horizon 3 and 4: two of the best songs in the entire franchise put into one action-packed mix!
- "Walk Softly". Ladies and gentlemen, the Mantis theme is back!
- "Advent", yet another Kazuma Jinnouchi masterpiece. No other frantic piece is needed for when Fireteam Osiris runs down a Guardian.
- "Crypt"; a heroic, fast-beat tune for the campaign's final battle.
- "Blue Team's theme", starts out slow and sad and mournful, and transitions into a grand, meaningful and moving orchestral piece akin to 117's theme (AKA Master Chief's theme), and finally ends with the five slow piano notes of "Keep What You Steal".
