• "Hedgehog Day Afternoon"
  • Sonic thwarts the robbers attempt to take the vault with the drones by running around in it, causing it to spin and force the drones to drop it. He then busts free from the vault and, while the robbers initially have him at gunpoint, he quickly disarms them before they have a chance to shoot, even lampshading as much.
  • Tom gets a badass moment himself by using his fishing rod to to snag one of the Badnik drones and sling it into another one, spectacularly destroying both of them.
  Tom: That tears it! Doesn't anyone realize — that I am on — MY VACATION?!
• In the comic, Agent Stone gets A Day in the Limelight. Turns out that while he's nowhere near as smart as Robotnik (and knows it), he's way more savvy than he lets on. Robotnik leaves Stone a contingency plan on how to survive until he returns to Earth, which involves taking over the coffee shop he was working at and getting the greedy owner arrested for money laundering — and having his Badnik Drones trash the second higher-up's car when she lied to take time off at the beach, and drag the third off to an unknown fate —so he can take over. He does all of that in less than a week. Sure, the Dude may just be a minion, but he's one heck of a good minion.
  Robotnik: (narrating) Never make the mistake of trying to ingratiate yourself to your lessers. The only solution for faulty programming is deletion and replacement.
• In Knuckles' story, "Always Bet on Red" he is captured and forced to fight in some Gladiator Games against a gigantic, crustacean alien beast. He breaks free from his chains and beats down the creature with one punch!
  Knuckles: You want a piece of me?! THEN OPEN WIDE!
• Tails in "Two For The Road" just barely staying ahead of the tracker Knuckles hired, going through multiple zones and hazards while ultimately finding out where Sonic is and losing the tracker right before he nearly catches up.
• Dr. Robotnik's Villainous Valor moment in "Mushroom With A View" where he pulls himself out of the dogpile of the mushroom creatures, is barely intimidated when a bigger creature roars at him, and immolates all of them with a makeshift flamethrower he made. The last panel showing him walking away triumphant as the cave he was in burns behind him, declaring that someday, he'll return to Earth and get even with Sonic.
  Robotnik: NO! I refuse to relent! I deny deletion!
