Awesome moments for Platinum Pirate go here. BEWARE OF UNMARKED SPOILERS.

  • Lucas and Vaporeon team up with Smoker when they encounter Ace at Alabasta, giving him a serious match. Ace admits later that while he wasn't beaten, it was still one of the trickiest fights he'd had up to that point.
  • Lucas announces his presence to Crocodile in Rainbase by having Torterra sink his casino with Earthquake. This makes the Warlord temporarily feel fear when he believes that Whitebeard decided to drop in and say hello.
  • During the follow-up fight, Torterra is able to fight evenly with Crocodile, countering most of his attacks and using Synthesis to heal from those he can't defend against. This combined with Crocodile's residual fear of earthquakes, alongside Smoker's arrival, forces the Warlord to retreat.
  • With the help of two moves from Vaporeon, Luffy gives Crocodile a very cathartic Curb-Stomp Battle.
  • Vice Admiral Gion gets one of these moments during the fallout of the encounter with Saint Rhode, when she uses her best Haki-empowered attack to barely stave off a simultaneous Hyper Beam barrage from Lucas's entire team.
  • During a training session with the Straw Hats, Lucas notes that even with a maxed-out Agility and Double Team, Crobat still had to actively dodge every shot Usopp was taking at him.
  • When Crocodile destroys the Going Merry, Zoro's rage allows him to briefly shock Crocodile by cutting the sand Logia, and stop him from immediately reforming, similar to what he did to Monet.
  • Apparently Johanna put the fear of her in her husband's Spiritomb if she ever took using her Pressure too far when Lucas was a kid.
  • When Lucas gets a taste of Conqueror's Haki from Sengoku for the first time, he notes that the comparison he made to Pressure was underselling it, and that it's comparable to something that Giratina would put out.
  • Franky, having heard that Crocodile was after Pluton, created a fake set of blueprints to use as a decoy, which fools Spandam.
  • Usopp has a brief sniper's duel against Van Auger, managing to hold him off long enough to get both himself and an injured Crobat to safety. The aftermath of the battle against Giratina shows that Usopp actually won that duel, with his Levinsnake Star injuring one of Van Auger's arms and warping his rifle's barrel.
  • Kalifa and Kumadori have the entire Franky family, the giants Oimo and Kashi, Franky, Chopper, and Bentham all locked down when Usopp shows up. The sniper singlehandedly turns the tide, disabling Kumadori long enough for Franky to set him on fire, washing away Kalifa’s soap powers with one shot, and then defeating Kalifa with an Impact Dial when she tries to target him directly.
  • Luffy has taken Lucas's advice to heart on using his insanely flexible rubber body to pull off Deadly Dodging, allowing him to avoid Lucci's Death or Glory Attack, get some good hits in before he can recover, and then send the agent flying, knocking him out upon impact.
  • While the Lord of the Distortion World is already known and feared in the Pokémon World, Giratina's Establishing Character Moment for One Piece is suitably impressive. Specifically? Giratina leaves Lucas and his entire team visibly terrified after casually treating Vice-Admiral Onigumo (a Zoan, no less) to a One-Hit KO.
  • Although they ultimately lose, Lucas and his team give Giratina a serious fight, enough to force it to use Endure to withstand a Hyper Beam barrage after Togekiss gets fortunate with Metronome. As such, it implies it will give them another chance to challenge it and win passage home once they grow stronger.
  • Lucas's spar with Zephyr is predictably epic, In-Universe and out.
    • Lucas noted how Kuzan struggled against three of his Pokémon. Zephyr was easily holding his own against four. Had the battle been a real fight, it’s likely Zephyr would have knocked them all out.
  • Saint Rhode was paid a visit by Giratina, who spirited him and everyone on his ship away to parts unknown, leaving only one guard as a witness. In truth, Karasu—the Revolutionary Commander with the Soot-Soot Fruit—made a realistic imitation to capture nearly everyone. It still ensured that Rhode won’t cause Lucas any more problems.
  • Franky, as part of the prototyping process for Lucas's new ship, gives Nami's Waver and Smoker's bike the ability to fly.
  • When Lucas field tests Mega Evolution in a practice match, Mega Lucario becomes able to fight against Zephyr solo and make him put more effort into fighting back.
