• Season 1 Episode 12, Natsume is targeted by a youkai's shadow and Nyanko-sensei can't help him, as no one except Natsume himself or a shiki bonded to him can even touch the shadow. In desperation, Natsume manages to summon a shiki... who appears in the form of a tiny, seemingly powerless bird. All seems lost until the shiki starts glowing with a burning bright light, successfully banishing the shadow.
• Season 2 Episode 4, Tama growing into his adult form to save Natsume from Isozuki.
• Season 2 Episode 7, Madara's Big Damn Heroes moment was made even more epic by the way it was presented. As Natsume had temporarily lost his youkai vision, Madara was not physically shown freeing Natsume and carrying him on his back, Madara was invisble except for the gale blowing over grass as he flew. Until the very last moment, when he charged into Taki's youkai-seeing circle, revealing Madara's form seconds before he took a massive chomp on the evil ayakshi, giving Natsume the opportunity to seal it and save Taki.
• Season 2 Episode 10:
  • Two bullies throw a rock at Reiko without warning. She promptly grabs a stick from Shigeru’s hands and knocks the rock back to hit one of the bullies in the leg.
  • Natsume exorcising the youkai from the Fujiwaras' house, just by getting a glimpse of how Reiko did it in a flashback.
• Season 2 Episode 13, the Oni trapped in the well decide to reward Kai for freeing them by trying to eat him. Big mistake, as Kai is a powerful river god who easily blasts them into oblivion with a beam worthy of a Wave-Motion Gun. Afterward, Madara and Natori work together to banish the one stray Oni who gets away.
• Madara going full blown Papa Wolf in chapter 26 when Natsume gets injured.
• Season 3 Episode 12:
  • Younger Natsume single-handedly managed to seal a youkai who was threatening to kidnap him, complete with a full moon at night, whilst outside a shrine atop a cliff. It helps that the BGM here is the same as the one that played during the S2E7's Madara scene.
  • When the yokai returns for revenge in the present day while Natsume is bedridden, Nyanko-sensei dutifully fends her off, compete with Pre Ass Kicking One Liner, in an offscreen battle that leaves her destroyed.
• Season 4 Episode 2:
  • Matoba has imprisoned Natsume and Nyanko-sensei and comes to check on them. Nyanko steps in, drives off Matoba's yokai servants, and calmly tells Natsume that he can ask him to stop holding back at any time. Matoba then tries to disable Nyanko with a seal like he had previously, but Nyanko has none of it this time and uses his light to burn the seal to a crisp. In the instant it takes for the light to dissipate, Nyanko transforms into Madara, bursts out of the prison, and escapes, taking Natsume with him.
  • Natsume's ayakashi friends coming to save him in Big Damn Heroes fashion, all topped off with the head of the Matoba clan admiting that they don't stand a chance against his army of friends.
