* The Ridley fight and the buildup to it. So awesome the game gives you the Super Missiles and Plasma Beam for the fight itself and an Accel Charge and Missile Tank in the room just before it.

* The Ridley fight and the buildup to it. So awesome the game gives you the Super Missiles and Plasma Beam for the fight itself and an Accel Charge and Missile Tank in the room just before it. It's also cathartic to have Samus, who had just suffered a HeroicBSOD beforehand, to deliver a brutal beatdown on Ridley, tearing his wings to shreds and leaving deep wounds on his body. By the end of the fight, it's ''Ridley'' who now [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere cowers]] before Samus.

* The Vorash fought right after getting the Grapple Beam is a high contender for BestBossEver. There's something incredibly cool about seeing Samus whip that bad boy out of the lava like it's just some puny little trout, then kicking its ass. Doesn't hurt that it is possibly the only boss that doesn't either fall into a button-mashing pattern or GuideDangIt.

** Samus reversing the Ghalmanian's tail-grapple attack and swinging it around the room with her bare hands is amazing.
** Sometimes the failed versions of these attacks are just as awesome. For example, if Samus fails to fire during an Overblast on a Groganch, it will flip its body over and ''suplex her into the ground''. Tree dinosaurs have never been so cool.
* There are certain kinds of enemies that are especially cool to fight thanks to their cool movesets and amazing CQC opportunities.

** Fighting Kihunters is always crazy, especially the fight against the Kihunter hive in the Biosphere. Samus can jump up and ground them by ripping their wings off with her bare hands, and once they're de-winged, she can swing them around by their tails and huck them across the room. Yes, I can see how shooting her with a possibly-deadly weapon makes so much more sense than just yelling at her to stop, and explaining the situation.
**** What's worse is that Samus wouldn't even have needed to fight the nigh-invincible Metroids in Sector Zero. All Adam had to do was cause enough superficial damage to the section to cause it to auto-eject. Gosh, if only there were someone with super-speed enhanced combat armour and delayed-response Power Bombs that she's been explicitly ordered not to use specifically because they could cause damage to the station. Oh, wait. It's not like Samus has never had to outrun a destruct sequence. It's like a bi-monthly occurrence for her.
***** And let us not forget the live metroid hovering over her when this happened.

* The trailer shown at E3 2009 for Metroid: Other M could be a crowning moment of sheer awesome all on its own. '''[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFFXkjYJEBI&fmt=18 Samus THROWS a Kihunter. By its TAIL.]]'''
** Just before it: Tackling an alien to the ground by holding it in a headlock, then shooting it in the back of the head, at ''point blank''.
*** And she does this [[{{Ninja}} ALL THE FREAKIN' TIME.]]
**** Every freaking MOMENT if gameplay in Other M counts! Sense move, overblast, etc. And Concentration! Sumus can now HEAL HERSELF AND RESTORE GODDAMN MISSILES THROUGH SHEER FORCE OF WILL.

Added DiffLines:

* [[spoiler: Adam Malkovich's]] {{Heroic Sacrifice}}. Full Stop.
** Except it ended up being [[SenselessSacrifice completely pointless]] and [[spoiler: he]] crossed the MoralEventHorizon seconds before doing it.
*** It was ''not'' pointless. Sure, [[spoiler: he]] turned out to be wrong about it stopping [[spoiler: MB herself]], but [[spoiler: he]] ''did'' succeed in getting rid of the [[spoiler: ice-proof Metroids]]. That act still meant something. And as for MoralEventHorizon, remember ''why'' [[spoiler: he shot Samus.]] This ''is'' Samus Aran we're talking about; as her own subsequent actions prove, there was no other way to keep her from stopping [[spoiler: him.]] Besides, all [[spoiler: he did was incapacitate her briefly.]] Not ''nice'', maybe, but not exactly ''that'' horrible a thing, either.
**** Samus Aran? The woman who had spent most of the game obeying his orders just because she respected him? The woman who took serious damage before activating her Varia suit, because she didn't want to disobey his orders?
***** I guess ''YourMileageMayVary'' here.
