----
* The trailer shown at E3 2009 for ''Metroid: Other M'' could be a crowning moment of sheer awesome all on its own. '''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFFXkjYJEBI&fmt=18 Samus THROWS a Kihunter. By its TAIL.]]'''
** Just before it: tackling an alien to the ground by holding it in a headlock, then shooting it in the back of the head, at ''point blank''.
* [=SenseMove=] is easily one of the coolest abilities Samus has ever had. The distinctive sound, the flash of green, and the sick combat rolls that can be chained into one another make Samus flip around battlefields like a ninja, completely untouchable and firing Charge Beams like crazy.
* Because of the new Overblast, Counter Attack, and Lethal Strike moves, Samus can now tear enemies apart with her bare hands. Of course, you have to time it right for them to work, but it's always worth it for the cool factor. Here's a [[https://youtu.be/1xemotUspDw compilation.]]
** Samus reversing the Ghalmanian's tail-grapple attack and swinging it around the room with her bare hands is amazing.
** Sometimes the failed versions of these attacks are just as awesome. For example, if Samus fails to fire during an Overblast on a Groganch, it will flip its body over and ''suplex her into the ground''. Tree dinosaurs have never been so cool.
* There are certain kinds of enemies that are especially cool to fight thanks to their cool movesets and amazing CQC opportunities.
** The Zebesians are always a treat to fight. Samus roundhouse kicking Zebesians in the face, and then finishing them off by firing Charge Beams directly into their heads is beautiful enough to make a grown man cry.
** Fighting Kihunters is always crazy, especially the fight against the Kihunter hive in the Biosphere. Samus can jump up and ground them by ripping their wings off with her bare hands, and once they're de-winged, she can swing them around by their tails and huck them across the room. It truly feels like a MookHorrorShow.
** The Desbrachians are not only tough as hell [[LightningBruiser Lightning Bruisers]], but fighting them is always like something out of ''Manga/DragonBall''. If you utilize [=SenseMove=] right, Samus and the Desbrachian will be flipping and diving around each other like Super Saiyans for minutes on end.
* The Ridley fight and the buildup to it. So awesome the game gives you the Super Missiles and Plasma Beam for the fight itself and an Accel Charge and Missile Tank in the room just before it. It's also cathartic to have Samus, who had just suffered a HeroicBSOD beforehand, to deliver a brutal beatdown on Ridley, tearing his wings to shreds and leaving deep wounds on his body. By the end of the fight, it's ''Ridley'' who now [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere cowers]] before Samus.
* The Vorash fought right after getting the Grapple Beam is a high contender for BestBossEver. There's something incredibly cool about seeing Samus whip that bad boy out of the lava like it's just some puny little trout, then kicking its ass. Doesn't hurt that it is possibly the only boss that doesn't either fall into a button-mashing pattern or GuideDangIt.
* Any scene involving Anthony, but especially the Ridley scene... BOTH of them.
** My man does a sick but completely unnecessary backflip over Ridley's claws. In ''full armor''.
** Yes Anthony, we'll [[MemeticMutation remember you]] for a long time after shooting the Space Pirate commander himself to save Samus.
** And ''insulting'' him:
--->'''Point Man Higgs:''' HEY! Hey, punk! Don't you know how to treat a lady?! Man! [[YouFightLikeACow You got no style!]] I think I have to teach you a lesson about subtlety. [[BringIt Come on!]]
** He also casually mentions that he was the one who stopped the ship from entering Earth's atmosphere and crashing into the Galactic Federation. Anthony literally saves the day - without him, the ship would've entered Federation airspace and Madeline Bergman's witness would've been successfully silenced by the Colonel.
* ''VideoGame/SuperMetroid'''s ending, IN GLORIOUS 3D!
** Especially the little touches that make it ''completely clear'' that the resulting destruction of Mother Brain was a MamaBear RoaringRampageOfRevenge. The following line clinches it:
--->'''Samus''': [[PreAssKickingOneLiner Mother, time to go!]]
* Samus "Authorizing" the Screw Attack, Gravity Suit and Power Bomb on her own. Each time she does is its own [=CMoA=] by itself! The Screw Attack? [[IronicEcho "Any objections, Adam?"]] (Especially cathartic if you weren't fond of the Authorization system in the first place.) The Gravity Suit? "Oh, I'm gonna get sucked into the vacuum of space... yeah, that's not gonna work for me, have fun Zebesians!" And the Power Bomb? See below.
* Blowing up the Queen Metroid ''from the inside out with Power Bombs'' is probably the most cathartic boss fight ending in the whole game.
* A moment of more subtle awesome: the first part of the cutscene with the real Madeline Bergmen ''actually works''. Samus responds to Bergmen's terror in a calm, measured, [[{{Adorkable}} faintly awkward]] way, backing off to explain herself in a way that actually sells the scene.
* Adam Malkovich's HeroicSacrifice is pretty baller, regardless of what you think of the guy.
* The fact that the Space Pirates on Zebes actually had a survivor. Phantoon, to be exact. And what did he do afterwards? [[TookALevelInBadass Take A Level In Badass]], grow huge, and take over the Bottle Ship in the PlayableEpilogue.
