Whereas the real bear died of cocaine overdose, the Cocaine Bear in the film is Spared by the Adaptation and scores a complete victory, driving everyone from its territory, keeping its cocaine, and the last we see of it is it preparing to attack a group of hapless recorders— alongside its cubs, who've also miraculously survived ingesting cocaine.
