As expected of stories from several centuries ago, Values Dissonance is in full effect, but that doesn't mean they aren't awesome:
- The Sea Jinn kidnaps a princess he has a Villainous Crush on the night before her marriage and keeps her imprisoned in a box under the sea to ensure fidelity. The princesses gets back at him by making him a cuckold without his knowledge, using the time he brings her out of her prison to sleep with any men she could find. By the time she gets to Shahryar and his brother, she has slept with over a thousand men.
- Also in an incredible Values Resonance moment, despite Shahryar and his brother finding her attractive, they find no pleasure in her forcing them to have sex with her.
- Shahrazad having the sheer skill to marry the hate-maddened sultan and successfully changing him back to the good king he was.
- The wife of the farm owner in the story of "The Ox And The Donkey" is a harridan who wants to know a secret despite knowing it would cost her husband his life, and would not change her mind despite him and their family advising, rebuking and begging her. As her husband prepares to die, he hears a suggestion and implements it - Corporal Punishment. The wife never bothered her husband again.
