The first series focused on a group of 4 young heroes: Bong/Borg, Shumi, Waryeong/Warwick and Honma, as they use the power of The Four Gods to transform and fight the forces of evil led by Muspel and his generals while also trying to rescue Bong's/Borg's younger sister, Kino/Kiro.
A sequel series entitled Synostone had aired in 2019 with Part 1 airing from May 2nd to October 31st of that same year and Part 2 airing from January 23rd to June 3rd in 2020 under the name Synostone Prime.
The sequel series takes place one year after the events of the original when Borg and his friends succeed at defeating Muspel, his army and rescuing Kiro. The victory is short lived however due a new threat emerging in the form of the Takers: a group of evil dinosaurs (yes, really) that plan to take over the world! Fortunately, our four heroes won't be alone this time for as it turns out: they're not the only Mask Masters around! As they enroll in the Master's School, they'll make new friends, unlock a new power in the form of Synostone and fight to defend the world from this new threat.

Both series managed to get questionable English dubs with the first series getting their first few episodes getting condensed into a "movie" that is available on YouTube and most streaming services while the second series dubbed episodes are available on YouTube.
Mask Masters and Synostone provide the following tropes:
- Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: Costume-wise, some of the Masters' suit colors are spot on while other suits invoke this trope. For a few examples:
- Andre's suit colors are Teal, White and Sky Blue. Why is that weird? Because he's the Skunk Mask Master!
- Roxy's suit color is Pink and she's the Fox Mask Master.
- Amusing Injuries: Borg/Bong is typically the victim of these
- Animal-Themed Superbeing: All of the Mask Masters are based off of real animals. Or in Warwick's case, mythical.
- Big Eater: Borg and Honma. A good example would be Synostone's 1st episode where they participated in an eating contest.
- Blue Is Heroic: Warwick, Leah and Andre's main color motifs are blue and they are on the side of good.
- Gasshole: Andre to a T! There's a good reason he wears all that perfume...
- Handicapped Badass: Warwick only has one arm due to incident in the past. He's also one of the strongest warriors in both series.
- Harmless Electrocution: happens to Borg/Bong often
- Henshin Hero: All of the Masters technically count as this
- Iron Butt Monkey: Borg/Bong
- Smelly Skunk: Andre's animal motif is the Skunk and he will use his ability if he has to!
