Kid-E-Cats (Три кота) is a 2015 Russian animated television series for preschoolers made by CTC Media and Studio Metrafilms.
The series centers on three siblings, Cookie, Pudding and Candy, and their family and friends. All the characters are anthropomorphic cats and live in the city of Catspolis.
Each episode shows an imbroglio to untie, a mystery to solve or a challenge to overcome, and the three siblings start to think and together they solve the problem. Each proposes a solution (often absurd or surreal) and the cartoon displays it in a simulated version. In the end, everything always works out and everyone wins.
Kid-E-Cats provides examples of:
- Catchphrase: When they're excited: "So awesome! Meow-wow, meow-wow, meow-wow, meow-wow!" Expect this to be uttered twice per episode.
- Drunk with Power: Suggested in Candy's Magic Wand, when Candy threatens to turn Cookie and Pudding into frogs with her magic wand, if they don't push her on the swing. The wand was actually Mom's knitting needle.
- Edible Theme Naming: The three main characters are siblings named Cookie, Pudding, and Candy. In the Russian original, they're named Shortbread, Compote, and Caramel respectively.
- Fully-Dressed Cartoon Animal: The sibling cats wear shirts, pants, and extra accessories (hats in the boys' case, and a ribbon in the girl's case).
- Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: Candy likes princesses and fairies, but she also loves watching the pirate television show with her brothers, as well as playing pirate with them.
- Goofy Print Underwear: In Off To The Races, Mom is going to wash a Dad's pink underwear with red hearts.
- Nuclear Family: Cookie, Pudding and Candy; Boris; Chase; Cupcake.
- Women Drivers: That's what Cookie, Pudding and Chase say to Candy in the car race at Off To The Races, and that's the impression you get when you see Candy training alone, until Mom shows up and reveals that she drives better than Dad, and this certainly helps Candy to improve.
