Momo and Yuzu thank the Auto Club for pulling an all-nighter to do some last-minute maintenance of the tanks, and give them the day off of classes. It's a nice gesture on their part, but I highly doubt that, as powerful as they are, they can actually do that.
Exhausted, the four girls decide to take a bath in a special drum bath that they made themselves, and which they hope can be brought to the matches. Apart from the various technical features of the bath, it also saves them from having to go to the public baths, although Nakajima says they shouldn't be too conscious about that.
The drum bath is so relaxing that Nakajima almost falls asleep and drowns. Her relief gives way to horror as she sees that her three companions have fallen asleep. She forcibly lifts Hoshino, who's in hr drum, out of the water, then gets the "Leopon Sword" (a baseball bat) out of a compartment on the side of the drum and strikes Tsuchiya and Suzuki's drum.
As the others come to their senses and thank her, she tells them to be careful in their sleep deprived state, and imagines what kind of headline there would have been if they had drowned.
Apparently, that isn't all that disturbing to them, but as Suzuki innocently poses the question of whether they brought any spare clothes, they react in horror, as Hoshino realizes that the oil-stained clothes were drenched in bath water, and Nakajima chalks this negligence up to sleeplessness. They then imagine the headline of them being caught streaking by Saori, and think it's even worse than one that would have appeared if they'd drowned (although in the this case, their identities are hidden with black bars over their eyes).
Hoshino proposes that they simply make a run for it, but Nakajima tells her to cover up with a towel. Hoshino responds that it's a girls' school, and they're safe if they don't run into anyone. At this point, however, Hoshino and Nakajima's drum tips over and knocks over Suzuki and Tsuchiya's, causing them to realize the situation has gone From Bad to Worse.
As Hoshino desperately tries to take one for the team, blaming herself for what happened, Nakajima restrains her while telling the other two to think of something. Unfortunately, Suzuki and Tsuchiya can only think of warming each other with their bodies.
The four nude auto club girls have the faint hope of getting someone's attention and getting their help. Yukari passes by, but she can't hear them unless they shout loudly enough to risk attracting others. Hoshino throws a rock, but fails to accomplish her intended purpose as the rocks come to rest in Yukari's fluffy hair. Mako passes by next, and Hoshino's rock knocks her over. Hoshino, horrified, considers rushing over, but Nakajima restrains her, and Sodoko gets there first, refusing to accept Mako's exuses. Nakajima concludes that merely shouting isn't enough.
Saori greets Miho, saying that she stayed up to watch a movie about hot guys having a car chase. Their conversation is interrupted as the Auto club rolls over, calling out to them and inviting them to have a drum bath together. As Miho and Saori react in horror, it's revealed that the Auto Club ended up in the paper, after all.
MLLSD seems to be in a bit of a slump in the 20s, with some relatively weak chapters such as this one. It's harder to tell whether it's proof of a downward decline, though.
