Project Horizons - Chapter 7: Prices

>I'm a killer.

Well, we're off to a wonderful start. Half-Security angsts about killing various U-21s and P-21s, raiders, Scoodle, and the foals in the hospital. She goes all Stepford Smiler, reassuring everyone while still wanting the current P-21 to shoot her.

Blackjack convinces Prince Splendid and the Collegiate to work together and go on their merry way. But P-21 and Glory are concerned about Blackjack and asks if she's okay. She isn't. She's so not okay, that she walks into another fight scene without realizing. An... seems to be on autopilot as she kills ponies that most likely aren't raiders just because she thinks red is dead. After killing eight of them, Security Mare nearly freaks out but find out they're slavers.

She gets a crash course of what they do from a bitter slave and decides to load an explosive round to finish them off and dear sweet shitstorm, Blackjack is REALLY not okay. But Blackjack can't make it nine. She's... a huge mess as she makes a death threat against the slaver about finding a different line of work. Want to know how not-okay she is? Blackjack hugs a rock and starts openly weeping. Given that she was suicidal ever since Scoodle died, this is... just... just wow.

I have no words. And I genuinely feel sorry for Blackjack now.

Morning Glory decides to comfort her and discuss her "Red it’s dead. Yellow be mellow." mentality. Blackjack didn't know which one it was when she set the slaver free. They let the slaves free from their bonds and they disperse off into groups of two. Morning Glory... proceedcs to saw the head off a dead slaver to examine it. They also encounter Raiders, too, so she probably does the same thing to one of them. In fact, she was happy she got heads she needed. ...That came out wrong.

Blackjack turns on the radio again and is treated to reports of Littlepip's recent exploit of clearing Old Apploosa of slavers and of herself... who had just cleared out some slavers of her own. I'm confused. Are we following Littlepip or Blackjack? Or are they the same and she has alternate personality disorder?

Blackjack promptly asks P-21 to shoot her. Morning Glory argues that DJ PON3 is helping her. This... doesn't help and Blackjack has a Freak Out!, very nearly pulling the trigger of her gun at her own group and sending both Morning Glory and P-21 back to being concerned and very worried about her. She gets so upset and guilty over all the deaths he caused that she passes out.

She wakes up in an unidentified room at The Megamart. Blackjack relieves herself in the bathroom and Bottlecaps greets her. They have a little conversation about the wasteland and heroes, which is probably what she needed, given that Bottlecaps is against heroes in the wasteland. The conversation then shifts to business talk over how Megamart's competition has more traders than they get. And about the importance of trade versus greed.

Blackjack angsts about having a power over pony lives that she shouldn't have and tells of all that happened at the Fluttershy Medical Center. Bottlecaps states that there was no right choice. Blackjack decides to help Bottlecaps and Megamart by disrupting the slave trade of the competition. Oh, Bottlecaps doesn't sell slaves. She has integrity.

Security Mare encounters some ponies playing a poker game that she swiftly joins and enjoys. She also finds out she enjoys whiskey, too. Well... right up until he saw U-21. She chases after him and gets caught in a trap by Mr. Country Music Star. Blackjack is drunk and manages to escape by firing off Deus's canons and setting off Wrath of Gun.

Another fight scene happens that makes me have a smile on my face. Through her drunken haze and with Wrath of Gun aiding her, Blackjack manages to pick up a grenade launcher and fire at Horrible Music. Glory and P-21 then heal Blackjack as the fight ends. Bottlecaps, her integrity, and her guards run Deus out of the music business. I mean the store. But not before Country Music Star puts a bounty on Security Mare.

One of the guards uses Blackjack's poker winnings to buy some better armor for her and tells her to end Deus's music career so they can play some more poker. Blackjack is told to head to Hoofington Sports Arena, but wonders how she and her group is supposed to get out without being seen.

>Bottlecap just smiled, and my mane proceeded to itch.

OH BOY! More wacky shenanigan!

>Quest Perk: The Stare (Level 1) - You can intimidate non-hostile contacts through eye contact.

Well... Blackjack just may be a descendant of Fluttershy.
