Adding Seasonal Rot

Added DiffLines:

* SeasonalRot: Towards the end of their channel, the Super Best Friends were having a number of LPs that didn't go over well. And it was becoming more and more clear that there was indeed backstage drama and a lack of communication between the members of the group.

Ensemble Darkhorse is for minor characters. Pat is one of the main hosts, and playthroughs are not characters.

** As of 2017, Pat has ended up becoming the most popular host on the channel according to popularity polls. Most attribute this to him being the most likely to pay attention to a game as well as putting in off-camera effort to improve, while Woolie only shows a normal amount of effort and Matt will frequently start resisting trying if he feels like it.
*** Speaking of Pat, his team-ups with Woolie have also become very popular in their own right, which is hilarious considering how they have joked at first about not being able to cooperate very well with each other. Their ''Dark Souls II'' run showed the most flashes of brilliance early on, but most will point to the end of 2016 and beginning of 2017 as when their chemistry was undeniable; as Matt was on hiatus and Liam had left the channel, Pat and Woolie spent a month and more carrying it with stand-alone videos and the end of their ''Dark Souls'' [=LPs=] with the first game. Much praise has also been thrown their way with their final stretch of videos throughout the latter half of 2018 with the ''Devil May Cry'' series and ''VideoGame/GodHand'', and the announcement that they would still continue to have podcasts with each other. To wit, most of the fandom seems to follow their exploits a lot even after the Best Friends' disbandment, as videos and podcasts from either of them tend to dominate discussion on the Super Best Friends Play subreddit.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: In spite of many Creator/Suda51 games receiving a full LP on the channel, ''VideoGame/{{killer7}}'' only has a single video as part of the ''Shitstorm of Scariness'', and many of the comments on the video agree that it should be a full series.
** To end off Mecha Week II they gang decided to finally let Pat play ''VideoGame/{{Xenogears}}'' after years of talking about how much he loves this game. After the video people were disappointed that it was only a one off that was more or less just Liam and Woolie constantly shitting on Pat by comparing it to its spiritual successors and reminding him that this will never get a full LP. People who have beaten the game commented that they wished they did a full series just to see the others reaction while those who haven't were genuinely interested in what this game was considering Pat's constant references to later plot points that [[ItMakesSenseInContext only really make sense if you've at least played a majority of the game]].

Moving Noodle Incident to the main page.

** The Chewie & Fuckface running gag on the Super Best Friendcast would eventually come alive for real as the ''Podcast/CastleSuperBeast'' podcast.

* NoodleIncident:
** Whatever happened between the pair to provoke their rather huge argument on their Facebook page during June 9th. It ''seems'' to have evolved out of the two mocking each other over Animal Crossing, but with Matt and Pat, who can tell? It hasn't been referred to since, either, particularly after the two resolved their differences after and joked about it later.
** There have been multiple hints at Liam being under house arrest. Exactly why is anyone's guess.
** According to a discussion on the Friendcast, something once occurred that resulted in Woolie and Pat having to form "a deal" involving the bathroom. Pat claims that the situation is ENTIRELY his fault. Matt supposedly urged Woolie to take the deal, as "it wasn't going to get better, and could get a whole lot worse".

** During the ''VideoGame/DeadlyPremonition'' play through, Pat comments that what Forrest just said is [[spoiler:"rape culture! Does Kaysen support rape culture?!" in a very offended tone.]] At the end of the game,[[spoiler: the actions of Forrest Kaysen ]]make that statement and the offence taken seem rather prophetic. Similarly, Pat notes during their ''VideoGame/TheLastOfUs'' playthrough that Joel's insistence that they are "survivors", rather than "shitty people", is typically said in movies by REALLY shitty people. Later on in the game, we find out Joel has "been on both sides".
** While playing ''VideoGame/PrisonBreak'' Matt was afraid of going to jail and said he needed to learn about prison from the game. Few years later, the Two Best Friends Play Facebook implied Matt, Pat and Woolie were almost arrested with the ''VideoGame/AliensColonialMarines'' showing really suspicious footage of the best friends. It later turns out that they were stopped by police when a person saw them sneaking around at night with (toy) guns, but nothing bad came of it.

** Pat and Liam [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6UTrTSwES0 famously bet over]] whether ''VideoGame/PhantasyStarOnline2'' would ever come out to the West or not, with Pat confidently declaring it to be ''NEVER'' release in the West. Fastforward to E3 2019, in which it was finally announced that ''[=PSO2=]'' would be released for North America. Also cue Pat insisting that he did not lose the bet because the Western release of ''[=PSO2=]'' was limited to Xbox and PC, thus [[ExactWords technically not being out for]] ''[[ExactWords all]]'' [[ExactWords of North America]].

** They really don't try to hide the fact that they think [[Creator/QuanticDream David Cage]] is a hack. That said, they do concede that Cage can deliver some hype moments in their recent podcasts discussing ''VideoGame/DetroitBecomeHuman'', but not to the extent it makes up for the sheer mess they feel his games devolve into.

** During their look at ''VideoGame/StreetFighterXMegaMan'', the group discussed how halfhearted it was that Capcom's only release to celebrate Mega Man's anniversary was to officiate a fan game, and debate on if they should be demanding more content or just be satisfied with what little effort Capcom ''did'' put into the game. Flash forward to 2016, when ''VideoGame/MightyNo9'' attempted to please Mega Man fans and was met with extreme bile. As with the Best friends and the earlier game, this was justified with "It's better than nothing."

** The most recent full LP Matt did was ''VideoGame/OmikronTheNomadSoul'', which was a terrible game that they had a running gag of claiming it was driving them insane (later episodes cutting the usual video bumpers for mad imagery); soon after its finale was uploaded Matt announced his hiatus for stress. Liam was playing through ''VideoGame/SonicUnleashed'' as, according to Woolie and Matt, he hadn't suffered as much as the other members, so they wanted a game to break him; Liam would resign from the channel for mental health issues midway through (although he did say he'd finish the game).

Misuse. A character isn't a Scrappy for being hated by members of a specific channel (and in some cases, not even all of them)

* RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap:
** Whether Ellie of ''VideoGame/TheLastOfUs'' was TheScrappy to begin with is debatable, given the Best Friends tend to run with a joke once it's gotten going, but Sunny, so loathed in ''[[VideoGame/MetalGearSolid4GunsOfThePatriots MGS4]]'' by the Friends was suddenly rescued and made awesome by a scene less than five minutes long in [[VideoGame/MetalGearRisingRevengeance Revengeance]].
** David Madsen from VideoGame/LifeIsStrange ''may'' be heading towards this. Matt and Liam obviously dislike him in episode one, but when he actually apologizes in episode two and admits that he was wrong, just upset, they give him credit. They still seem iffy on him regarding his treatment of Kate, but if anything, they're treading carefully. By episode 5 they don't hate him but they can't take him seriously anymore after being defeated 3 or 4 times by an art teacher.
** Chloe from the same game seemed to reach this around the midpoint of Episode Three, after actively confessing that she's aware a lot of her problems are of her own making, but refuses to acknowledge it, and it was essentially confirmed that she was rescued in Episode Four, where she actively apologises for her dickishness in prior episodes; both Matt and Liam had much less negative things to say following that.

* TheScrappy:
** Matt expresses his hate towards multiple video game characters such as Ethan Mars from ''VideoGame/HeavyRain'', Ben and Duck from ''VideoGame/TheWalkingDead'', Sunny from ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid4GunsOfThePatriots'', and George from ''VideoGame/MetalGearRisingRevengeance''. Pat is not so expressive about his opinions but in one occasion during the ''VideoGame/PlayStationAllStarsBattleRoyale'' he joined Matt in making fun of Kratos from ''VideoGame/GodOfWar''.
** Pat has also expressed his dislike towards Ashley from ''Franchise/MassEffect''.
** Speaking of ''Walking Dead'', the guys weren't the biggest fans of Kenny, either.
** While playing ''The Last of Us'', Matt and Pat constantly flip-flop between calling Ellie garbage (as in, they actually nickname her Garbage) and admitting that they're being too hard on her.
** Woolie wished that Sylvia was the final boss of No More Heroes 2.
--> '''Woolie''': I was holding a chalice of empathy; and watch me pour it into the toilet! I stand angrily and flushing, for Sylvia is GARBAGE!
** Pat's hatred towards Ryan from ''Beyond: Two Souls'' is worth noting to say the least considering how he spends most of the game trying to make the protagonist not be attracted to him. Even Matt was suprised in the final part when Pat still could not tolerate Ryan. Pat chose the "Beyond Ending" in order to "{{troll}}" Ryan.
** Pat's "discussion" over [[VideoGame/{{Persona 3}} Ken]] being in ''Ultimax'' is literally "fuck Ken". Liam tries to defend him, but to no avail. To put it into perspective, he's perfectly willing to hurt Koromaru, one of his favorite characters, just to get at Ken, and sincerely hopes that [[WouldHurtAChild Ken dies during the course of the game]].
** Chico from the ''Metal Gear Solid'' series, is this for both Matt and Pat. Though, they acknowledge that people see him as RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap via the hidden tapes.
** Whenever ''Franchise/XMen'' or Marvel in general is brought up, expect many jokes to be made at [[JerkAss Cyclops']] expense.
** ''VideoGame/PersonaQShadowOfTheLabyrinth'' is this to Pat, due to his distaste for ''VideoGame/EtrianOdyssey'' style mechanics
** Chloe from ''VideoGame/LifeIsStrange'' was originally just on Matt's scrappy list for her using ridiculous slang. She made it on Liam's list as well when she showed her selfish attitude. Although in Episode 4 she apologized for her dickish behavior and [[spoiler:her alternate self hates the word "hella"]], so Liam and Matt don't hate on her that much anymore.
*** Warren seemed to take this spot for Liam almost immediately, who is generally positive toward most members of the cast - particularly Kate - and neutral at best to others, and naturally Matt is only happy to make that hate so much worse. It's reached the point where in Podcast 117, the other Best Friends are actively ''laughing'' at Liam for his assertions that Warren is basically a textbook abusive male on par with [[spoiler: Jefferson and Nathan, based on little more than his own dislike and an Easter egg/hidden bit that Liam confesses he ''hasn't even '''seen''' in-game'']].
** Averted with Moira Burton of ''VideoGame/ResidentEvilRevelations2'', who distinctly leans toward appearing like one of the characters that could aggravate the Best Friends, but manages to avoid it. It possibly helps that she's the daughter of 'awesome dude-man' ''Barry Burton''.
** Immediately after beginning [[VideoGame/{{NBA 2K}} NBA2k16 Livin Da Dream]], Pat, Liam AND Woolie all singled out PoisonousFriend Vic Van Lier as a "piece of shit" in his first appearance, and only came to hate him more as the play through continued, often expressing that someone should murder him, rejoicing when he dies in a car accident, and mocking his "ghost speech" for both its Narm and for actively making him less sympathetic.
*** They also really hated Freq's girlfriend Yvette, although to a ''far'' lesser extent than Vic. Their main reasons involve her abruptly appearing in the story with no buildup or introduction, and her facial rendering seeming to be of a much lower quality than the other characters for some reason.
** Gabriel "Gabe" García in Season 3 of ''VideoGame/TheWalkingDead'' quickly earned the contempt of both Matt and Pat due to his stereotypical EmoTeen behavior, UngratefulBastard tendencies, and outright snitching on the main protagonist. Pat's hatred of Gabe is such that part 11 sees Pat lose his temper and [[SuddenlyShouting start screaming at Gabe]] in anger over his behavior.

This entry seems a bit too based on a few jokes not meant to be taken seriously. Their Bruce x Waller jokes only come up a few times, and "Avesta getting in the way of their big black woman" is a short joke, since they warm up to Avesta later. Also snipping out the stuff that (although valid criticisms) don't fit under Strangled By The Red String.

* StrangledByTheRedString: The main criticism of their Telltale Batman: Enemy Within LP is that Matt and Woolie get so obsessed with their hypothetical love triangle between Bruce, John, and Waller that they end up shitting on any character perceived as a threat to their ships. They ''immediately'' start insulting Agent Avesta entirely because she's a white woman and they assume she's a forced love interest stopping them from getting to their big black woman. They also throw Gordon under the bus and sandbag Selina at every opportunity, forgetting that they ended the first season with insulting her and treating her animosity towards them as completely unjustified.

Their ''Dark Souls II'' run showed the most flashes of brilliance early on, but most will point to the end of 2016 and beginning of 2017 as when their chemistry was undeniable; as Matt was on hiatus and Liam had left the channel, Pat and Woolie spent a month and more carrying it with stand-alone videos and the end of their ''Dark Souls'' LPs [=LPs=] with the first game. Much praise has also been thrown their way with their final stretch of videos throughout the latter half of 2018 with the ''Devil May Cry'' series, and the announcement that they would still continue to have podcasts with each other.

** Likewise, there's a moment during the ''VideoGame/ShadowTheHedgehog'' quick look where Matt seems to express some genuine frustration at some of Pat's (who isn't in the video) abrasive behavior and habit of being a contrarian. Even though this was ''years'' before the actual end of their friendship, it's somewhat uncomfortable to listen to with the knowledge of what would ultimately happen to the channel.

* FriendlyFandoms: Some fans overlap with [[LetsPlay/TheOnlineWarrior Maximillian Christensen]]'s fanbase. If you hear anybody mention a Max on the channel, it's him. Taken up to 11, considering that the Best Friends are fans of him, have had him on the Podcast, got the YoVideogames crew to do Rustlemania intros, and even did a proper crossover when Matt and Woolie flew out to California to hang with Max and the doods.
