*** And it seems his family, who are watching on, also seem to know what little chance Hector stands against Achilles. The shots of his wife, Andromache, are especially heartbreaking, as she practically has a nervous breakdown during the fight, and her reaction to his death is even worse.

Not YMMV.

* {{Hypocrite}}: In the book, Achilles is a self-centered hot-tempered JerkAss, so his fury at Hector for Patroclus' death is completely in character. In the movie, he is established as a calm, collected, TheFatalist PunchClockVillain.....at least up until Patroclus dies, at which he becomes furious at Hector just like in the book, except this time it goes completely against his prior characterization.
** Not necessarily. Patroklos was essentially Achilles' student as well as his cousin, if their scene together at the beginning of the movie is anything to go off of. The fact that, in addition to this, Hector cut Patroklos down after discovering that he was posing as Achilles seemed to be his real issue.

YMMV or not, all it is is Hector stabbing somebody. Good or bad, it\'s not an impressive or awesome moment. if he\'d been fighting Menelaus, or parried and thrust or something it might be impressive, but just stabbing isn\'t the trope

** Menelaus getting impaled.
*** YMMV. Menelaus was a man rightfully insulted and in his times perfectly within his rights to kill Paris. Paris himself being the one that agreed to a battle to the death. It could be said to be yet another moment where Hector dishonors himself and risks his people for his brother, and there's nothing awesome about it.

* CompleteMonster: Menelaus. He's probably the only character who has no redeeming qualities. He was already making out with other women before he found out about Helen+Paris, which makes him a {{hypocrite}} when he wants revenge against both of them, stating that he wants to [[DisproportionateRetribution kill her with his own two hands]] when he gets her back. Finally, when Paris tries to make a deal with Agamemnon to not attack Troy if he fights Menelaus alone, Menelaus secretly [[MoralEventHorizon suggests Agamemnon to just break the deal if/when he kills Paris]].

** In the original (with gods and all), Helen wasn't even in love with him: it was all Aphrodite's doing. And the "die for her" aspect certainly didn't exist, making him an even bigger douchebag than in the film.

Completely Missing The Point is an in-universe comedy trope. It is not for complaining about things you don\'t like or people missing the point of something in general.

* CompletelyMissingThePoint: most of the people who said they hated Orlando Bloom's performance cited him playing Paris as a weaselly little wimp as the reason. Others have pointed out that if they hated the character so much for that reason, then Bloom did his job adequately, as Paris that's what Paris ''was.''
** Except for some ungodly reason they allowed that bastard seem like a good guy and worst of all he survives this whole conflict that he fucking started, is there no justice in this world!
