* ComplainingAboutShowsYouDontWatch: Even if it's justified, the sheer ratio of people who fiercely hate the games to the handful of people who actually played them makes this trope unavoidable.
** It's [[JustifiedTrope justified]] on the basis that, adjusted for inflation, the [=CDi=] itself cost US$640 and games $80-$100. The promise of four new Zelda and Mario games wasn't enough to persuade people to fork out the equivalent of a thousand bucks just to play them.
** Among those who have, the general consensus is that the hand-painted backgrounds, varied musical themes and artistic style of the actual gameplay (''not'' the cutscenes) are all quite nice, the gameplay itself is drab and somewhat problematic (supporting the lowest common denominator of CD-i controllers left them with only a control pad and 2 buttons to use, which introduces some issues) but adequate, and everything else is pretty much awful.
** While these CD-i games are not good as ''Zelda'' games, they aren't that bad games on their own. Music and backgrounds are beautiful, sprites are OK, and enemy respawn isn't that much of a problem if you don't rush. The big problem is ''horrible'' jumping. The cheesy cutscenes neglect all your usual fantasy epicness, even though dialogue wasn't a good part of early Zelda games either.
** Or even ZeldasAdventure - clips of ''that'' game are rare for a ''very'' good reason - The game is actually sought-out as a collector's item, and it's not got as much ''{{Narm}}'', some even go as far as to say the game is actually half-decent! It has LoadsAndLoadsOfLoading to balance that out though.
** Not to mention, the game is the rarest of the so-called "Unholy triforce". There are a couple LetsPlay videos of the first two that were done with emulators. However, there are very few clips of ZeldasAdventure because it can't be emulated, you have to have the actual console and the actual game itself. Plus, as pointed out by the AngryVideoGameNerd, some copies are plagued with a bug that doesn't allow the game to keep its saves (making it even ''rarer'') and to compound the issues, the CD-I has its own problems.

Incorrect. It\'s called \"apposition\".

*** This troper disagrees; if that were the case, Ganon (sorry, 'Gannon') would actually, based on pronounciation, be saying "...and I will make you a face the GREATEST etc.," which makes no sense in terms of grammar. "Your face" would essentially provide the same meaning as "you a face" anyway, given the correct interpretation of the sentence.

* GannonBanned: ''Zelda's Adventure'' spells the G-Man's name incorrectly, while pretty much getting everything else about the series wrong too. Even if people haven't played the game, the cut scenes speak for themselves.
** Rupees are called "rubies", even though it actually makes sense: ruby is a variety of the mineral corundum, which exists in a variety of colors. Non-red colors just happen to be called sapphires instead.

The linked review cheats in certain places; for example, the reviewer seems to be under the impression (or pretends for convenience) that one of the usual complaints is how Ganon can only be defeated by a specific item, rather than the fact that he goes down in a single blow. However, it also makes some good points -- apparently, those fireballs aren't so unbeatable if you [[HotelMario check out the enclosed instruction book.]]

** Thanks to YoutubePoop, the common portrayal for Duke Onkled is a ButtMonkey who betrays the King every other day of the week, which is taken as seriously as his appearance.

Added DiffLines:

* PlotHole: The ending to ''Wand of Gamelon'' makes no sense whatsoever. When did Link get trapped in a mirror? How come The King acknowledges Zelda saving him only after they're back in the castle? What are The King and Zelda laughing at?
** Actually, the castle is Onkled's (or, maybe, Ganon's). The question about the mirror is why Lady Alma had it? She wasn't hinted as a villain at the first meeting.
*** [[EpilepticTrees Maybe Onkled gave her the mirror after trapping Link inside of it, and she didn't actually know he was in there.]]

Two things. First, video games don\'t get separate Most Triumphant Examples. It\'s the MTE or it isn\'t—no qualifiers. Second, it\'s pretty much never appropriate to link to Most Triumphant Example, ever.

Each of the bosses (Gannon's minions) had a corresponding Face of Evil. Gannon is saying that if Link joins him, he'll make Link a Face of Evil too, and that Face of Evil will be the greatest Face of Evil in all of Koridai, NOT that he will make Link's actual face the greatest in Koridai. The bad voice acting doesn't help at all, but he is saying "you a", not "your".
