When the MonsterOfTheWeek, Mrs. Pollywinkle, points out that the contract Harold signed included everything she was going to do, Harold counters by saying he can't read. While this moment is played entirely for laughs, when one thinks about it, [[DumbassHasAPoint Harold is right.]] Since Harold is too mentally incompetent to comprehend what the contract says, legally speaking his signature shouldn't count. If [[OnlySaneWoman Billy's mother]] had signed the contract, Mrs. Pollywinkle's argument would've had some ground.

* FunnyAneurysmMoment:
** The season 1 episode, Get Out of My Head, specifically the scene where Billy [in Mandy's body] tries to go in the male then female bathroom, but feels out of place in both of them, while played for laughs back in 2001, can be uncomfortable to watch now in light of cultural controversies regarding transgender people and their bathroom of choice.
** In "Billy and Mandy Save Christmas", Billy blames the economy for [[ItMakesSenseInContext the Endsville Mall burning down on Christmas Eve]]. A year after the special's broadcast saw the start of the [[https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Recession Great Recession]] in the US; which not only left money tight during the holidays, but also left numerous malls across the country either bankrupt or struggling to keep even half of its stores open.
** The name of Sperg, the school bully, later became derogatory internet slang for people with autism or Asperger's. This is especially a case of this trope now that Maxwell Atoms is known to have Asperger's himself.

* AlternativeJokeInterpretation: In ''Pandora's lunch box'', Grim loses focus as he is about to lose his favorite show on TV, which according to Billy, is about a girl's adventures on the jungle with a polyglot monkey. It could be a ShoutOut to ''WesternAnimation/DoraTheExplorer'' (as Pandora's is based on her), or ''WesternAnimation/TheWildThornberrys''.

** Nergal is a [[NoodlePeople tall and thin]] HumanoidAbomination with CombatTentacles and wearing a [[BadassInANiceSuit suit]]. Now [[Franchise/TheSlenderManMythos who does that sound like]]?

** THIS ''X'' ISN'T STUPID! '''''YOU'RE'' STUPID!''' [[labelnote:Explanation]]Billy's angry retort to Grim after the latter criticizes a videotape he is watching has been repeatedly quoted by fans, replacing the word "movie" with whatever fits the situation.[[/labelnote]]

** "Complete and Utter Chaos" starts with the title card reading [[UpToEleven "Billy Gets Dumber"]] before Eris tears it down and puts in the real title card while whistling the title card theme tune. It escalates from there.

* WeirdAlEffect:
** Dracula's voice is an impression of Fred Sanford from ''Series/SanfordAndSon'', complete with a penchant for calling people "dummy". He is also drawn to look like an older version of Film/{{Blacula}}, complete with early 70's sideburns and mustache.
** Its parody of the Creator/HPLovecraft mythos, "Prank Call of Cthulhu", must go over the heads of most young viewers as well.

** The show is filled to the brim with horror movie references, most of which are fairly obscure even to adult fans.

** Dracula may be based on Redd Foxx and the title character of ''Blacula'', but his appearance is actually pretty accurate when compared to the novel Dracula's originally from. Not to mention that he’s not afraid to goof off and have fun once in a while.
