** When Bart returned as a teenager in ''Legion of 3 Worlds.'' This wasn't so much a matter of "OMG he's back!" and more "Finally!", but the point stands.

If Wally returns, he will be ''pissed.''

* HilariousInHindsight: In one episode of the live-action TV series, Barry pretends to be the scientist who "created" the Flash, and uses the alias of "Professor Zoom" (the name of Barry's EvilCounterpart in the comics). John Wesley Shipp would later actually voice Zoom in the "Requiem for a Scarlet Speedster" episode of ''BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold''.

* SpotlightStealingSquad and/or TheWesley: For some people, Barry Allen under GeoffJohns, whose favorite character Barry is. You'll often hear one specific panel referred to in discussions of this issue, in which someone comments to Barry that the crime rate has gone way up since he's been dead... despite the presence of Wally, a far faster and more powerful Flash (facts even Johns acknowledges).

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Impulse in ''YoungJustice''.

* CharacterDerailment: Aging Bart up to an adult, making him the Flash, and stripping away his FunPersonified personality and replacing it with {{Wangst}}. A very horrible hat trick, and one that infuriated a great deal of fans.
** Inertia. Oh, GODS. A lot of fangirls who read the ''Mercury Falling'' arc were ''very'' upset at this.
** Captain Boomerang II in ''BlackestNight''. Though it kinda makes since if you realize that Boomerang Jr's hat constantly switched between black & white depending on who gave him the time of day.
** Heat Wave: From the first reformed Rogue to a pyromaniac mass murderer.
** The Rogues during Marc Guggenheim's run: A lot of the development Johns did with the Rogues during his run (which many consider the definitive Flash run) was abandoned. Summed up nicely by Captain Cold during the FinalCrisis:Rogues' Revenge mini ("This is for one ******-up year"), while giving Inertia a beat-down.

* UnpleasableFanbase: Message boards are essentially a warzone between "Barry Fanboys" vs. "Wally Fanboys" and it has only gotten worse since Barry has been brought back to life and given more attention.
