** Probably not solely out of spite, but to prevent her from accusing him. (Which she would have likely done, because [[spoiler:she had even left him chained to the bed for Vic to possibly kill him due to being a witness and a traitor.]]) Without Alice's accusation, Danny would have had more leeway. Instead of going on the run, he could have claimed that he told Vic about Alice casually but wasn't involved in the kidnapping, or he could have tried to make it look like [[spoiler:the disappearances of the two]] were unrelated. Which would have been suspenseful because the warehouse might be under surveillance.

"What an Idiot!" is now Flame Bait.

** Is Danny a sociopath? He claims to love Alice but it's unclear if he was just using her to get her Dad's money and it's obvious he was stringing Vic along because Vic protected him in prison and came up with the kidnapping plan. He shows quite the LackOfEmpathy, manipulative tendencies and impulsiveness (he's responsible for most of if not ''all'' the WhatAnIdiot moments in the film) and he arrogantly assumes he has both Alice and Vic totally under his control because both of them "love" him.

* WhatAnIdiot: Some of Danny's actions throughout the film come across as idiotic due to his undying trust. For one, [[spoiler:he has his back turned when Alice is going to the bathroom, allowing her to grab his gun and fire a shot at him, forcing him to reveal his identity to her]]. Another time, he unties Alice in order to [[spoiler:have sex with her, allowing her to take advantage of him and chain him to the bed. She then proceeds to grab his cellphone and call the police]].

* MoralEventHorizon: Whether or not you believe (or agree with the bizarre reasoning of,) [[spoiler: Danny's story that he was doing this to be with Alice,]] his ultimate decision to [[spoiler: leave her to starve to death while he runs off with the money (especially pointless since he's bleeding to death anyway), is unforgivable]].
