** [[ZigZaggingTrope Is it possible]] for a comic to straddle this trope and its [[OffModel exact opposite]] simultaneously? Most of the comic is amateurish at best, but for MS paint webcomics, it's got some ''damned'' impressive fight scenes. The fight between [[spoiler: Garry and Demaro]], in particular, has some ''amazingly'' detailed particle effects for MS Paint.

* AssPull: There are comics where the writer tries to pay off things that were not set up earlier, there are comics where the writers are clearly making it up [[WritingByTheSeatOfYourPants on the fly]], there are comics where the writers make things up to [[DeusExMachina write themselves out of a corner]], and then there are comics where the writer throws a lasso round this trope and rides it like a waterskiier across a lake. ''Tails Gets Trolled'' is the latter kind of comic, and it's [[Administrivia/TropesAreTools all the more hilarious because of it.]]

* FandomRivalry: Tails Gets Trolled often gets mistaken for a parody or knock-off of Webcomic/{{Sonichu}}, much to the chagrin of the TGT fanbase. Lazerbot eventually referenced this himself by including Sonichu as a troll in Tails Gets Trolled as a jab to people who compare the two.

* TooBleakStoppedCaring: Likely deliberate. The trolls are sociopathic assholes and necrophiles, while Shadow is a deranged murderer who [[spoiler: kills an entire village of innocent people.]] The extreme {{Gorn}} is both PlayedForDrama and PlayedForLaughs at the same time, and the hero's attempts are marked by constant setbacks, betrayals and failure.

* IdiotPlot: The Awesome Fucking Plan was a back-and-forth contest of nonsensical choices. The Troll Slayers set up a fake Justin Bieber concert but make no effort to make it convincing. The trolls know it's going to be a trap but go to it en masse anyway. After the trolls walk into the trap, Shadow decides to walk out in front of the mass of troll and taunt them instead of just killing them when he has the chance.

* FunnyAneurysmMoment: Sonic's "i'm gonna go have sex with my girlfriend so i'm not so mad" line is [[MemeticMutation comedy gold]]. [[spoiler: Then we find out that Eggman [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil raped Amy for possibly years]] and Sonic immediately going to Amy for some sort of comfort after that scene destroyed their already-strained relationship.]] It even re-contextualizes his Dark Super Sonic transformation.

* HarsherInHindsight: Knuckles ComfortingTheWidow towards [[spoiler: Amy after Sonic's death]] is given a rather swift WhatTheHellHero by Shadow and forgotten about. [[spoiler: Then we find out about the aforementioned rape, which even Knuckles hadn't known about the entire time, ''and'' it turns out he was in love with her. Something only fully expressed shortly before her death. Even worse, when they do have sex [[ItMakesSenseInContext to give her the clap]], all Amy can see in her depressed stupor is Sonic, further cementing the tragedy.]]

** The panel of Elmer Fudd revealing [[spoiler:[[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/tailsgetstrolled/images/b/bb/Fudd1.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/185?cb=20141023113119 he has the powers of necromancy]]]] is also extremely popular for somewhat [[ShockingSwerve obvious reasons]], especially when showing it to people who haven't read the comic and asking them [[ItMakesSenseInContext what's happening in this panel.]] Actually, just mentioning "[[spoiler:[[ARareSentence Elmer Fudd is a necromancer]]]]" on its own is a fairly popular meme, and is probably one of the comic's best-known plot twists.

* ShockingSwerve: Quite a few plot twists come right out of nowhere, like the revelation that the guy with no ears [[spoiler: is a [[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim Dragonborn]]]], or Elmer Fudd [[spoiler: being a necromancer.]]

** Much of the trolls' dialogue in general crosses the line at least twice, but the undisputed winner is Underbite Troll's [[http://www.tailsgetstrolled.org/wiki/File:Underbitetroll-Hitler_comment.jpg jaw-droppingly extreme]] put-down from the "Troll-Off."

** Dr. Eggman [[spoiler: raping Amy to the point where she attempted suicide,]] not at all played for laughs.
** The [[{{Gorn}} extreme gore]] actually gets pretty disturbing at times, even with the terrible MS Paint artwork. Vector [[spoiler: graphically getting his eye ripped out]] and Porky coming home to find [[spoiler: the horribly mutilated bodies of his parents]] are two good examples.

** The [[EldritchAbomination Skeletal Worm]] that [[spoiler: kills Garry]] in chapter 13, [[http://www.tailsgetstrolled.org/ch23/ apparently named "Miladox"]]. It just comes up out of ''[[DiabolusExNihilo nowhere]]'' and has a legitimately creepy [[NonStandardCharacterDesign design]] that looks more like an [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Angel]] than the regular cast of colorful cartoon characters. In other words, something that has ''no'' business being in a comic this ridiculous and laughable. The fact that [[NothingIsScarier we never learn anything about where it is or where it came from]] just makes it all the worse.

** Grew the beard to the point that, upon the comic's original creator's departure in May 2021 [[https://knowyourmeme.com/editorials/interviews/lazerbot-the-creator-of-tails-gets-trolled-reveals-the-history-of-the-legendary-webcomic Know Your Meme did a lengthy interview about the comic and it's evolution.]]

* SoBadItsGood: Very much so, although the story manages to be oddly compelling and memorable in spite of the so-bad-its-good elements.

* VindicatedByHistory: Whilst during the first five years of it's run the comic was ridiculed for it's poor art, spelling and downright bizarre concept, being compared to Webcomic/{{Sonichu}}, the series managed to build an engaged fandom from it's surprisingly in-depth plot and characters, Lazerbot's art style improving consistently, and whilst the spelling and grammar isn't ''that'' much better, the dialogue became much more natural-sounding and witty, to the point where fans have pointed out that the early chapters do contain a surprising amount of the surprisingly clever dialogue the comic would later be known for.

** Knuckles getting an STD from a threesome with Rouge the Bat and Donkey Kong? Tasteless, albeit rather funny (and completely absurd). This turning out to be [[spoiler:a ''[[ChekhovsGag major part of his plan]]'']] is some kind of [[CrazyAwesome twisted genius]].

* BileFascination: Practically the poster child for bad fanart webcomics, every part of it is gratuitous or laughable, and yet oddly entertaining in a way that keeps the audience coming back for more.

* MemeticMutation: Probably ''the'' reason why it has gotten so much attention on the internet is for how hilariously bad it is, and the fact that said hilarity made some memetic mutations. Many panels from the comics have been used as reaction images on imageboards and avatars on forums. We could sit and discuss them, but we'd be here forever, so for the really well-known ones:
