1	* AssPull: There are comics where the writer tries to pay off things that were not set up earlier, there are comics where the writers are clearly making it up [[WritingByTheSeatOfYourPants on the fly]], there are comics where the writers make things up to [[DeusExMachina write themselves out of a corner]], and then there are comics where the writer throws a lasso round this and rides it like a waterskiier across a lake. ''Tails Gets Trolled'' is the latter kind of comic, and it's [[Administrivia/TropesAreTools all the more hilarious because of it.]]
2	** Quite a few plot twists come right out of nowhere, like the revelation that the guy with no ears [[spoiler: is a [[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim Dragonborn]]]], or Elmer Fudd [[spoiler: being a necromancer.]]
3	* SugarWiki/AwesomeArt:
4	** [[ZigZaggingTrope Is it possible]] for a comic to straddle this audience reaction and its [[OffModel exact opposite]] simultaneously? Most of the comic is amateurish at best, but for MS paint webcomics, it's got some ''damned'' impressive fight scenes. The fight between [[spoiler: Garry and Demaro]], in particular, has some ''amazingly'' detailed particle effects for MS Paint.
5	** The facial expressions on the characters, despite or possibly even because of the crude and OffModel artwork, are surprisingly expressive for the medium.
6	** The surprisingly emotive expressions have led to a huge amount of MemeticMutation, with many panels being used as reaction images throughout the web.
7	** Forget the "for an MS Paint webcomic" standards. The [[http://www.tailsgetstrolled.org/ch23/cover.png cover art]] for Chapter 23 is awesome by anyone's standards. For a shitty MS Paint webcomic, it's ''astoundingly'' good.
8	* BileFascination: Practically the poster child for bad fanart webcomics, every part of it is gratuitous or laughable, and yet oddly entertaining in a way that keeps the audience coming back for more. [[DownplayedTrope It does help]] that both the art and writing [[GrowingTheBeard improve greatly as the comic goes on]], though.
9	* BrokenBase: The art in chapter 23. Opinions among the fandom differ greatly on whether it's [[SugarWiki/AwesomeArt a treat to see the writers' visions brought to life in such vivid detail]], or if having unironically good art goes against [[SoBadItsGood the whole spirit of the comic]].
10	* CrossesTheLineTwice: [[{{Gorn}} Gory]] [[BloodyHilarious violence]] + [[ClusterFBomb gratuitous swearing]] + terrible artwork = pure hilarious webcomic bliss.
11	** [[spoiler: Vector]] returns, the only survivor of [[spoiler: Sonic and Team Chaotix]], [[BodyHorror horribly beaten and]] [[EyeScream missing an eyeball]], and begs Shadow to listen to his mission report. When he finds Shadow, [[spoiler: Vector]] vomits out a ''[[BloodyHilarious massive]]'' spray of blood all over Shadow's face and delivers this gem of a line:

16	** Much of the trolls' dialogue in general crosses the line at least twice, but the undisputed winner is Underbite Troll's [[http://www.tailsgetstrolled.org/wiki/File:Underbitetroll-Hitler_comment.png jaw-droppingly extreme]] put-down from the "Troll-Off."
17	** Everything about Mario and Luigi's HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood.

21	* DesignatedHero: In general, the protagonists often do things that make them no better than the trolls. Shadow and Sonic are the biggest offenders. However, as the story goes on this starts to gets subverted a bit as [[spoiler: Sonic's attempt at revenge on the trolls leads to him being killed brutally. And after the failure of the fucking awesome plan, Shadow is painted in a much more negative light to the point that even Knuckles calls him out on his brutality.]]

23	** Knuckles, Elmer Fudd, and Silver the Hedgehog if comments on Lazerbot's Website/DeviantArt page is any indication.
24	** Rob the Guy With No Ears is a priceless source of comedic moments, still [[BewareTheSillyOnes genuinely]] [[LethalJokeCharacter badass]] and he never [[SpotlightStealingSquad hogs the spotlight]]. In other words, basically the exact opposite of every stereotype about bad CreatorsPet Sonic [[OriginalCharacter OCs]].
25	** Garry also counts. On a Facebook poll, he was voted the most popular villain in the comic.
26	** Vector, the OnlySaneMan of Team Chaotix, is fairly well-liked despite not having appeared much since his debut.
27	** There's also Coyote. When Lazerbot made a poll asking readers whether they liked Coyote or not, literally every vote said they liked him.
28	** Don't forget Underbite Troll. He got popular enough to have a miniature spin off.
29	* EvilIsCool: The Troll King, who's probably the best drawn character in the entire comic ''and'' a total, legitimately threatening badass.
30	* FridgeHorror: In Donkey Kong's first appearance in the comic, he was shown sleeping after having a threesome with Knuckles and Rouge. In his most recent appearance, he's prevented from helping the Troll Slaiyers out because Rouge gave him Gonnorhea. No points for deducing what this means for Knuckles.
31	** It becomes AscendedFridgeHorror after the weed party: [[spoiler:Knuckles knew he got the clap from Rouge so he invited her to the party (along with several other girls Knuckles gave the clap) to pass it onto Cheeto Man.]]
32	* FandomRivalry: Tails Gets Trolled often gets mistaken for a parody or knock-off of Webcomic/{{Sonichu}}, much to the chagrin of the TGT fanbase. Lazerbot eventually referenced this himself by including Sonichu as a troll in Tails Gets Trolled as a jab at people who compare the two.

It's difficult to pinpoint an exact moment at which people actually started caring about the story, but many will proclaim [[WhamEpisode the 4th chapter]], to be the point where the comic starts making big improvements, quality wise.

67	* {{Narm}}: Oh god, just about ''the entire thing.'' Moments that aren't narmy are the ''exception'', not the rule, and part of what makes it [[NarmCharm so damned entertaining.]]
68	* NarmCharm: At first glance, you'd think this is an textbook example of a SoBadItsGood fancomic - and you'd be right. However, Lazerbot's artwork [[ArtEvolution improves so much]] and the whole thing is played so totally serious that many people have admitted to becoming unironically invested in the story and characters after the first few chapters. Not to mention that the fight scenes are genuinely well drawn and some of the dialogue is actually quite clever and funny.

It just comes up out of ''[[DiabolusExNihilo nowhere]]'' and has a legitimately creepy [[NonStandardCharacterDesign design]] that looks more like an [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Angel]] than the regular cast of colorful cartoon characters. The fact that [[NothingIsScarier we never learn anything about where it is or where it came from]] just makes it all the worse.
76	** The Weed Party seems fairly innocuous by all means until Knuckles [[spoiler: enacts his plan against the Cheeto Man]], but what most fail to notice is a ParanoiaFuel-inducing surprise: [[spoiler: Ronald [=McDonald=] was hiding in a number of backgrounds, silently and creepily observing Tails the entire time.]]
77	** Chapter 4: seeing Cream's charred corpse. While characters have been offed in bloody ways before, Cream is burned alive and Lazerbot makes sure to draw all the details out for the viewers. The surprising quality of the panels contrasted with the jank anatomy and general [="MSPaint weirdness"=] of the panels beforehand make it an especially striking moment.
78	** Page 17 of Chapter 20. The culmination of the Cheeto Man arc and the reveal of the pipe really drives home just how powerful and how feared Cheeto Man is. The corpse of Amy serves as another gut punch to the already shocking reveal.

His [[SmugSnake insufferable arrogance]] prevents him from being as [[EvilIsCool cool as]] The Troll King or Alex. And he's not [[LaughablyEvil hilariously]] [[CrossesTheLineTwice depraved]] like Troll Face or Garry. The fact he's [[SpotlightStealingSquad been the main focus for quite a while]] and basically every situation he's encountered has led to [[NewPowersAsThePlotDemands rather contrived new uses for his powers]] doesn't really help either.

86	** The revelation that [[spoiler:The Defenders are actually bad people, and evidence of such has been in front of the viewer and Tails the whole time, but he hadn't been paying attention.]]
87	* SoBadItsGood: Very much so, although the story manages to be oddly compelling and memorable in spite of the so-bad-it's-good elements.
88	* TooBleakStoppedCaring: Likely deliberate. The trolls are sociopathic assholes and necrophiles, while the heroes range from being [[IdiotHero Idiot Heroes]] at best to deranged murderers ([[spoiler: i.e. Shadow killing an entire village of innocent people]]) at worst. The extreme {{Gorn}} is both PlayedForDrama and PlayedForLaughs at the same time, and any attempts to deescalate or put an end to the conflict are marked by constant setbacks, betrayals and failure.

92	* VindicatedByHistory: Whilst during the first five years of its run the comic was ridiculed for its poor art, spelling and downright bizarre concept, being compared to Webcomic/{{Sonichu}}, the series managed to build an engaged fandom from its surprisingly in-depth plot and characters, Lazerbot's art style improving consistently, and whilst the spelling and grammar aren't ''that'' much better, the dialogue became much more natural-sounding and witty, to the point where fans have pointed out that the early chapters do contain a surprising amount of the surprisingly clever dialogue the comic would later be known for.
93	* ViewerGenderConfusion: Alex the Emo Troll. Some people unfamiliar with the comic have commented on him being a girl.
94	* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotForKids: Despite having a cast consisting of characters from Sonic, Mario and Looney Tunes, it contains lots of swearing and gore.

96	** Tails. The title says it all, "Tails gets trolled." He also gets beaten down constantly by the trolls, gets ridiculed by them, and [[spoiler: loses his best friend Sonic to the trolls.]]

When the Church he is a part of finds out, they see him as evil incarnate and kill his father and his mother before he has a chance to see them, and then murder his wife and child in front of him. It's no wonder that he is DrivenToSuicide.]]
98	** Mario and Luigi. One of the biggest moments of Mario's flashback is them [[spoiler: meeting their parents, only to be told that they aren't loved and that their father just enjoys having unprotected sex.]] Luigi more so, because he was mostly dragged into doing all of this for the sake of his brother.
99	** Amy Rose in "The Storm". [[spoiler:Her peaceful life came to an end when she met Sonic, which led to Eggman making her into a sex slave for 4 years.]]
100	** [[spoiler:Any of the Defenders who aren't willingly working with Cheeto Man, but instead kept in line through Cheeto Man employing blackmail or IHaveYourWife. Kermit, Pac Man, Spyro, and Arthur are confirmed to be in this situation.]]
