* GoodBadBugs:
** In the original it was possible to fire a nuclear missile and have it detonate right above your base. The reason? The missile collided with an aircraft. In some cases the aircraft that collided was owned [[EpicFail by the same person]] who launched the nuke! No matter the side you're on either case this doubles as a CrowningMomentOfAwesome and a CrowningMomentOfFunny

*** And contrary to every other level in the campaign where a uef player can almost just build a marvor, sit back, and just tell it where to shoot to end the mission, on this level building a marvor will work against you as the cost will leave you vulnerable, and it cannot do anything to defend you.

**** If you read the Infinite War series by dotswarlock and take it as canon (its better than GPG's version), then the Seraphim in the quantum realm (long explination) saw the infinite war, discovered it could spill over to them and destroy them. So they decided to take the iniative and blow us all up first.

** The expansion pack Forged Alliance allows players to construct experiments without having to wait until the final missions like the original game did. Very few of the missions have any real impetus to achieve objectives, thus many of the missions can if the player wants to, turtle in their base, constructing reams of tier 3 power generators and mass fabricators, until you have enough power and mass to construct game enders. The UEF are the best at this tactic, as they can build a couple of the Mavor artillery pieces within about 2 hours, and they will destroy every enemy building on the map in very short time, while still being able to build constant fatboy experimentals that the enemy have no hope of standing up to.

*** This troper has played both, and can attest that if you play the second game before the first, they both seem pretty good, although you will have issues like cursing the lack of unit diversity in 2 that appeared in the first game, or the annoying AI quirks and pathfinding in the first game that the second improved so much.

* {{Scrappy mechanic}}: or rather the lack of unit formations while the group of units are moving, the various units moving at their own speed and terrible pathing can make for some tedious micromanaging in a large scale battle.

* PortingDisaster: Even though the new control scheme worked well enough, the X-box 360 simply couldn't handle the first game and it turned into a stuttering mess with frequent pauses and the occasional crash. The reduced graphics on the sequel are theoretically supposed to help prevent this, but it hasn't been released yet.
