** In 2015 Ian bluntly announced in a Q&A at vidcon that Charlie the guinea pig died of old age. Long time Smosh fans will remember him as Charlie the Drunk Guinea Pig.

I don't think just saying it's a tearjerker is a good way to explain why it is in the first place. And bolding feels like an unnecessary way to emphasize.

And to top it off, they outright taunt the company, declaring "Try to sue us now!" as the chorus. Again, bearing in mind that all happened many years before and they're now among the most popular web content producers, it just comes off as them holding an endless grudge and whining about it with no knowledge of how copyright and fair use actually works, [[{{Irony}} yet claiming the Pokémon company is the one that doesn't know how it works]], and trying to make the company look bad for no real reason. But because of the special effects and good music, not to mention that this alound:came out around the time [=YouTube=] copyright claims were universally considered to be flawed and never taken seriously, everyone takes Ian and Anthony as the good guys and continues to denounce Pokémon to this day.
** That being said, the jury is out on whether it was meant as a serious TakeThat, as the video has a hilariously simplistic depiction of both Youtube and the Pokémon Company to the point of self-parody, and Smosh are clearly still fans of Pokémon to this day that don't seem to take much offense to the copyright claim. Smosh don't tend to take themselves too seriously, and many of their videos are [[StylisticSuck purposefully exaggerated]].

** Their Taken parody from 2012 revolved around the idea of how odd it would be for a Liam Neeson-type to go to the same violent lengths to save a dog as they would a human, with numerous characters pointing out that a dog shouldn't be worth that much death. Two years later, we get John Wick- a movie in which the main character *does* seek to get revenge over the loss of a dog... and it feels totally justified.
