And then Anthony left.

* TheScrappy: Stevie, the new recurring character, on the other hand has a high, nasally voice, not [[{{Gonk}} attractive]] and is a borderline one man SpotlightStealingSquad. Seeing as how nobody In-Universe likes him either, this may have been deliberate.

* DesignatedHero: The two of them can be seen as this in their Pokémon Theme Song Revenge video. For starters, it can be interpreted as a giant TakeThat towards the Pokémon company for an incident that happened years prior, and that the company was entirely allowed to do.[[labelnote: Explanation]](They filed a copyright claim on Smosh's old music video for the Pokémon theme song; as the song in question was straight-up the one from the anime, rather than a remix or parody, this was within the company's legal rights).[[/labelnote]] For another, they constantly try to justify their video with lines like "You don't know the law!" and "It was a parody!" - which, as stated in the parentheses, is not exactly the case. And to top it off, they outright taunt the company, declaring "Try to sue us now!" as the chorus. Again, bearing in mind that this alound:

* SpecialEffectsFailure: Administrivia/TropesAreNotBad; Most if not all of their videos have glaringly obvious special effects, but the blatancy actually [[RuleOfFunny adds to the humor]].

** There's a divide in fans about the content Smosh produces. Some people still like what Smosh does today, but there's a group of fans who insist that Smosh declined after 2009 or a few years after.
