** Not really. US Consulates are completely different than Embassies. Embassies (in most countries) are generally heavily fortified complexes. Consulates are seldom more than an office in a office building with a couple of security people. Which was the case in Libya. And the US Embassy in Mexico (which likely was the comparison Dennis was making) is a not-very-small fortress.

** He pretty much is defined the minute he shows up as a CompleteMonster, and his entire character arc is all about his ruthlessness and hunger for power. He really doesn't have one to cross, as he's already well beyond it. That doesn't mean he isn't DangerouslyGenreSavvy, or extremely smart.

* SatelliteLoveInterest: O could be seen as one, as she is solely defined by being Chon and Ben's girlfriend, liking shopping, and being accustomed to and demanding better food and other accommodations from her captors.

* TheScrappy: O isn't very well-liked among most people for various reasons. Some have complained that her narrative segments are grating, if not unbearable, others think that she's too bland and one-dimensional to be the character that drives the plot and connects all of the others, and some can't stand her annoying demands for getting better food and accomodations from her kidnappers when she should feel grateful to even be alive in the first place (this ''is'' the Mexican Drug Cartel after all, not a group that's well-known for their hospitality). In some cases, people hate her for ALL of the above reasons.

* AlternateEnding: The last ImagineSpot is a more fitting ending to the movie than the actual ending.
