Memetic Loser is remembered mostly, if not exclusively, for being a loser. While these jokes are made sometimes and some hate fics are written, in the majority of fanworks, these characters are as competent as they are in the movie. Jack is worshiped by a portion of his fans, just like any popular character; there’s nothing special about this to call him a Sacred Cow.

* MemeticLoser:
** Those who dislike Jack Frost, specifically Elsa fans who hate having him paired up with her, love to bring up the movie's poor box office performance and being a dead franchise. Many fanarts and jokes will tend to portray Jack as a failure who's trying to date Elsa as a way to save his career.
** Jack Frost will often be shown as being this to Shrek, a fan favorite and Dreamworks darling.
** Pitch Black is sometimes portrayed as a massive AttentionWhore and/or Yandere and a ButtMonkey at the same time.
* MemeticMolester:
** Due to Jack being 300 years old, some fanfic writers have portrayed him this way when it comes to shipping him with anyone who isn't immortal.
** His scenes of looking through Jamie's window have been used by fanfic writers and Website/YouTube videos to make him look like a stalker.
** The existence of the horror film Film/JackFrost1997 certainly hasn't helped either, as people have joked that the killer snowman and Jack are the same person.

%% Administrivia/ZeroContextExample * SacredCow: Jack Frost for a lot of fans. Let's just leave it at that, shall we?

* HoYay: Some fans take Pitch's words and actions in the Antarctica scene as him having a VillainousCrush on Jack.
** Making his WeCanRuleTogether offer, Pitch stresses that he and Jack are NotSoDifferent, empathizes with his loneliness, and says he longs for a family. Then, this follows:
--->Pitch: We don't have to be alone, Jack. I believe in you. . . . Look at what we can do! (points at a sculpture made of ice and black sand) What goes together better than cold and dark?
** When Jack refuses the offer, Pitch looks heartbroken and then, has an IfICantHaveYou reaction. He demands Jack's staff in exchange for Baby Tooth, only to refuse to let her go, break the staff, and blast Jack into a crevasse.
--->Pitch: You said you wanted to be alone... so BE ALONE!!
** The OST for the WeCanRuleTogether part is even called Seduction. WordOfGod says Pitch is sincere about not wanting to be alone, makes himself vulnerable for Jack, and is genuinely hurt by his rejection. The DVD commentary also uses the phrase "...Jack spurned him."

* DieForOurShip: Shipping Jack with Elsa from WesternAnimation/Frozen2013 is an odd case of a non-canon CrossoverShip inspiring this treatment. The pairing grew very popular, frequently featured everywhere from fanfiction to cosplay, so some perceive Jack as getting in the way of whatever other Elsa ship they prefer. To let her hook up with someone else, quite a few fanworks kill, humiliate, and/or rewrite Jack into an insolent egotistic jerkass, a far cry from the AllLovingHero he is in the movie.

** WesternAnimation/2013 fans and WesternAnimation/RiseOfTheGuardians fans often accuse Disney or of stealing the idea of a movie focusing on AnIcePerson. Disney had been working on a film based on the Snow Queen on and off for decades, since the days of Walt himself, and leaked pre-production art was already online by 2008, the year Dreamworks purchased the film rights to William Joyce's The Guardians of Childhood book series, which united the variety of folkloric characters seen in the film, including not just Jack Frost, but other well-known childhood staples such as the Sandman and the Easter Bunny.

After the release of WesternAnimation/2013, Jack/Elsa Jack is very often shipped with Elsa, not just because they're both ice people protective of their younger sisters, but also because Jack's playfulness contrasts interestingly with Elsa's seriousness. The ship's name is "Jelsa" though some people prefer them as siblings and call them "Frost Family". The ship has become immensely popular. inspired many fanworks to the point of attracting backlash from those irritated by its popularity.
** A small portion of viewers ships Elsa with Pitch instead, because his life's work is fear and her whole problem is letting fear control her and/or because both are viewed as loners wanting someone to accept them and their strange power.

** Jack Frost. While widely accepted by people at the start, the fandom reaction and treatment of his character over the years has resulted in the character becoming incredibly polarizing. While the film has a bit of a bad reputation for its invasive ship wars, the most influential factor has been the massively popular CrossoverShip of Jack Frost with Elsa. Ron The Death Eater again. While Unintentionally Unsympathetic is an audience reaction, it still requires a degree of objectivity and doesn't allow vilifying. Jack is not "callous and aloof" and does not "take out his frustration with the Man in the Moon on the Guardians;" he is actually pretty friendly with them. He does get snippy with Bunny — after Bunny gets snippy with him. He has a right to be frustrated with the Man in the Moon's actions and has a right to turn down an offer he's not interested in.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Jack Frost comes too close to this trope for some viewers. While the movie establishes that he had been left alone without a reason or purpose for his existence for over 300 years, his attitude when presented with the offer to become a Guardian is callous and aloof. He comes across as not wanting to be responsible, and takes out his frustration with the Man in the Moon on the Guardians.

And this is a bit of Ron The Death Eater because the movie makes this clear enough. Jack saves Baby Tooth on the way to the Tooth Palace and lunges to attack Pitch along with the Guardians — before knowing about memories. Then, Jack is clearly friendly and sympathetic towards the Guardians, and they bond throughout the movie. Jack wants his memories, sure, but he is not acting out of self-interest alone.

** Jack Frost. He refuses to accept the invitation to become a Guardian and only does so when he sees the chance to know about his past. Was he really trying to help the Guardians or did he only do it out of self-interest?

Rooting For The Empire is "Where the villains of a series become more popular than the good guys. The heroes start to rub the fans the wrong way, and a notable proportion of the fandom now dislikes and actively bashes the main characters. For these fans they can almost become a Hatedom, yet they call themselves fans and continue to read/watch/play the source material because they like the bad guys." So, people who just hate the movie, its characters, or holidays don't count. And sure, some find Pitch to be more sympathetic than the main heroes, and that's Draco In Leather Pants.

* RootingForTheEmpire: Many people who don't celebrate holidays will find themselves rooting for Pitch to win, as well as Frozen fans who hate the Jack/Elsa pairing. Then there are those who just dislike the Guardians and find Pitch to be a lot more interesting and sympathetic than the main heroes.

** For... reasons, people who like WesternAnimation/TheLorax also tend to like this movie, due to both featuring an iconic character, reimagined into a PrettyBoy who is DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife and ends up giving up on everything he worked for, becoming a lonely soul in the process. Because of that, Jack/The Once-ler is almost rivaling Jelsa in terms of CrossoverShip popularity.

Most of the backlash against the film is caused by it, as there was no such hate until after the ship took off.
** The issue has even reached the creator of Jack Frost, William Joyce. During an instagram Q/A, Joyce was asked about the ship to which he replied that "It would be delightful if they could be together", while also acknowledging the impossibility of it as the two are owned by rival studios. While met with approval, he was also on the receiving end of some not so favorable comments and he hasn't touched the subject ever since, at least on a public forum.

** Pitch gets this treatment as much as a villain can. In the movie, he's a bad guy all right, but he is somewhat morally ambiguous. In some fanfics, he turns into a Voldemort with a nose. Fanfic/RiseOfTheBraveTangledDragons fandom and Jack/Elsa fanworks are especially guilty of this.
