* DamselScrappy: Very much averted. Akane and Usagi were pretty bad for this in canon. Here, they both are very capable of defending themselves and are not stupid enough to be lured into obvious traps.

** Pantyhose Taro's mom claims that Pantyhose should love and honor his name and Happosai, since Happosai was the midwife for her. Unfortunately, Happosai ''then'' decided to bathe the boy in a cursed spring that turns him into a horrible monster and gave him the name ''Pantyhose Taro.'' Taro's mom then spread the name and how awesome Happosai was all around their home village, rendering him a social pariah. While Taro tries to defend his mom (because she's, well, his ''mom''), even he admits that once it's put to him that way that there might be something to the neighbors staying ''far'' away from her.
** Ryu Kumon's dad decided to practice the scroll that Genma gave clear warnings on as "This technique is very dangerous and is designed to break things," within the Dojo he lived in. The Dojo subsequently collapsed on top of him, killing him instantly. Ryu compounded this error by then trying to seek vengeance on Genma, blaming him for his dad's death (even though Genma openly proclaims that it was Mr. Kumon's own fault, and for once, he's not trying to weasel his way out).
** Xian-Pu has ''lots'' of anger thrown her way for giving Ranma the Kiss of Death, since the last time it was used it basically condemned the Amazons to a slow cultural death.
** The Phoenix Tribe as whole. Ranma and Mamoru facepalm once it comes out that for centuries, the most important task their immortal king Saffron fulfilled was to warm the tribe's water and keep out the cold during winter. To them it's downright baffling how such a powerful being could be used by the tribe as little more than a glorified central heating and water heater.

* CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming: Ranma's birth where his parents greet him into the world. Nearby, Ami is also born before she is marked as a Senshi. A sign that those two were meant for greatness.

* AngstWhatAngst: Averted. Characters react ''far'' more naturally and are scared or down when appropriate, but there's no excessive angsting around.

* NeutralEvil: Clearly Happosai's alignment. Happosai is here monstrous in that his caring for no one but himself it taken to its logical conclusion. His willingness to do whatever it takes to get what he wants, regardless the consequences, is shown in its whole nastiness.

* CompleteMonster: Happosai, whose misdeeds were often discussed by Genma, Soun, and the Amazons before he finally appears in Chapter 26. What follows is an utter nightmare for the characters and the reader: the first thing he does is tear up Kasumi's clothing so he can ogle her, then he gropes Nabiki before attacking the group, declaring his intention of moving in with the Tendos and forcing them, the Saotomes, and their friends to be his slaves while he lives the easy life. When he was younger, [[spoiler: he came to the Amazons' village and seduced Ku-Lon before showing his true colors by brutally raping several of her friends--driving some of them to suicide in the process--and running off with several of their sacred artifacts in the hopes of using them to satisfy his hedonism. When Ku-Lon responded by using a powerful spell to render him impotent, he retaliated by beating her near death.]] Years later, he attempted to mold Soun and Genma into hedonistic monsters like him, and toyed with the idea of killing them when it became apparent that he had failed. Throughout his debut appearance, Happosai revels in his [[EvilIsPetty pettiness]] and cruelty, and becomes enraged when those he intends to victimize refuse to bend over backwards to please him.

When asked why they commit such horrific acts, they laugh and declare that every monstrous thing they've done--and they are well aware that their actions are sick and depraved--is simply ForTheEvulz.
