* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Spider-Man's [[ThouShaltNotKill commitment to not killing Carnage]] and stopping those willing to do the deed are initially noble, but by the end, come off as self-righteous and stupid. His final interference really takes the cake, even insisting: "Too many people have died! One more won't solve anything!" Every time he saves Carnage, more people end up dying. Him arguing that Kasady deserves better than death is an insult to all of his victims, especially when Peter states that he (in his own twisted fashion) may be the "most innocent of all". Considering that Carnage had already murdered hundreds of not ''thousands'' of civilians, this rings so hollow that [[LampshadeHanging even Carnage himself doesn't buy it!]]

Misuse. These are regular flaws, not funny things.

* {{Narm}}: Carnage's vocabulary is constantly changing as a result of [[DependingOnTheWriter multiple writers on board]]. In some cases, he sounds like the street punk that he started out as. And in others he comes off as Doctor Doom would when delivering a BreakingSpeech. This applies to Shriek on occasion.
** In one scene, the heroes quell a riot not by throwing punches but by talking sense into the mob. This is fine in the case of characters like Spidey and Captain America, but in one of the most awkward, weird, hilariously out of place scenes in the entire crossover, Deathlok comes across a nerd looting a computer supply store. When the nerd recognizes Deathlok and geeks out over his tech specs (remember, he's a cyborg), Deathlok sternly reminds the young man that stealing computers isn't cool. That's right, ''Deathlok the Demolisher'' has a heart to heart moment with a larcenous nerd.
** The Alpha Magni-Illuminizor, better known as "The Good Bomb". Aside from it being not [[AssPull being set up whatsoever]], the whole concept of pushing back the darkness with positive emotions sounds like something out of the revelations. For it to be converted into actual science is beyond ridiculous.

** Green Jellÿ's soundtrack is headbangingly awesome.
** The opening theme is particularly fine metal.
** One of the themes is an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_Q03y6YpuE awesome remix]] of Music/BlackSabbath's "The Mob Rules".
* {{Bowdlerise}}: Some of the dialogue in the game has changed into NeverSayDie due to MoralGuardians.
* GoddamnedBoss: Demogoblin and Carrion, since they can fly. The latter is manageable, but the former will give players a huge headache due to his strange gimmick; attempting to combo Demogoblin will cause him to trade punches with either Spiderman or Venom until either of them goes down, which because of how he deals more damage than either of the two will ensure he gets the upper hand.
* NightmareFuel: The Sega [=MegaDrive=] version of the game over theme. Unlike the SNES version which is a somber rock tune, the music for that version consists of a panicky blaring scores complete with an unsettling ScareChord that repeats with every countdown. Better hope you don't run out of continues.
