** Les. Though some readers enjoy his CharacterDevelopment and feel he adds to the cast dynamics, others feel his [[NeverLiveItDown past bullying and criminal behavior]] are indicators he's still a {{Jerkass}} and getting too much page-time.

** Tiffany's inability to swim, brought up during the dunk tank fundraiser, could lead to her being taught how to swim, but it was never brought up again.

* ArchivePanic: One comic a day for nearly 30 years. It's safe to say the comic is this.

* Stef is considered this by some readers, for a lot of the same reasons as Ann Eiffel. The fact that she's Tiffany's roommate means she appears way more often than Ann Eiffel, and her appearances only having one joke (Stef is an insensitive bitch to her roommates) means she very quickly gets tiresome.

** Brad and Toni immediately lose sympathy with their [[HandsOffParenting terrible parenting of Shannon]].

** Bernice's strictness as Moony U's dorm RA got her the nickname "The Dormenführer"by readers of ''Blog/TheComicsCurmudgeon''

** Gunther as the move to college. He's either a LovableNerd or a complete {{Jerkass}}, especially when it comes to his mother's relationship with Mr. Gray and how he treats Tiffany's relationship with Les.

** Whenever a terrible situation happens to Tiffany, Luann and Bernice taking amusement out of it is supposed to be some sort of karmic retribution but it comes off more as schadenfreude.

* FanPreferredCouple: When once polled with the question of who Luann should take to the prom, readers actually did choose Aaron over Gunther, only for Evans to set Luann up with Gunther anyway and then shooed Aaron off to Hawaii. Even after this, however, many fans still wanted her to end up with Aaron, only for Evans to permanently kill the ship later. Once the college arc began, readers began shipping her with Jock (aka Jack) as well over Gunther, who they preferred with Tiffany.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: Brad and Toni were originally supposed to marry on September 11, but too many readers called the creator out on this, feeling it was in bad taste. The wedding date got changed due to both of them being scheduled to work that day.

** Gunther's girlfriend Bets: a combination of ControlFreak, ManipulativeBitch and SelfieFiend tendencies has caused many fans to full-on ''despise'' her.

* AccidentalInnuendo: Brad and Toni run into each other a the grocery store and Brad mentions that he was just thinking about her. While holding a pair of melons. Toni notices and lampshades it.

** Reading the comic strips from the beginning shows that Luann appears to suffer from depression.
** Aaron Hill being in a relationship with Diane. She was Brad's age while he was Luann's. That means she was a 20-year-old dating a 16-year-old boy. In California (where the strip supposedly takes place) the age of consent is 18. But while Brad and Luann are outraged that their respective crushes are dating each other (and Diane ''does'' eventually come to the conclusion that Aaron is too young for her), nobody ever mentions the fact that any sort of physical relationship between the two is ''illegal.''
*** While not quite as harsh since no actual relationship developed, it’s still rather disconcerting that so many of Luann’s love interests were legal adults while she was only 16. Stuart was old enough to be married and Ben was a Sergeant in the army (and therefore at least 21). Both of these men also met Luann’s parents, who apparently saw no issue with their daughter dating an adult (one strip even had Frank confirm that he was perfectly okay with 16-year-old Luann dating a 21-year-old man, as long as the man seemed respectable enough.)

*** TakeThatScrappy: During the July 2020 arc, Ann finally gets her comeuppance and is kicked out of the house.
** As noted above in BaseBreakingCharacter, Shannon has recently been added to the list. Though even the most anti-Shannon reader has stated the real problem is the [[HandsOffParenting adults in her life who refuse to discipline her.]] It's not Shannon herself they hate so much as it's all the adults constantly failing her, and the strip itself [[PlayedForLaughs treating her as a punchline]] instead of the tragic result of bad parenting. But while readers acknowledge that Shannon isn't completely to blame for her terrible behavior, they're also sick of her [[CousinOliver dominating the strip.]]
