*** Most of Luann's creative pursuits comes off as this, as she obsentiably a college student struggling with writing assignments that's more befitting of a middle school.

** The supposed break-in at Tiffany's mansion, which added a good mystery to the story, was abruptly stopped, with no sign of returning.

** In the early days of the comic, Brad was intended to be seen as the BigBrotherBully toward Luann but usually he never bothered Luann unless she initiated it first like trying to talk to him while he's sleeping or trying to extort rides from him before she could drive. Most of the time, Luann was the one picking on Brad for seemingly no real reason except that she's bored. It does get toned down thankfully when they get older and Brad gets significant CharacterDevelopment.

* Gunther's girlfriend Bets: a combination of ControlFreak, ManipulativeBitch and SelfieFiend tendencies has caused many fans to dislike her. Just as fans were starting to get used to her, they broke up and she was PutOnABus. Though her plan for reuniting with Gunther (which seemed to be exist more as a social media stunt than anything else) reminded readers why they disliked her so much in the first place.

** Elwood, the Elvis-dressing, super-short rich kid, who shares Gunther's attraction to Luann. The fandom is not very enamored with him. But neither are Luann's friends, who aren't convinced that his riches are real despite the expensive dates he's taken her. When Elwood tried to propose to Luann they quickly discovered that the ring's "diamond" was fake, and the situation has yet to be resolved (the story took place in 2009). So he may be an in-universe example of The Scrappy.
** Shannon has been added to the list. Though even the most anti-Shannon reader has stated the real problem is the [[HandsOffParenting adults in her life who refuse to discipline her.]] It's not Shannon herself they hate so much as it's all the adults constantly failing her, and the strip itself [[PlayedForLaughs treating her as a punchline]] instead of the tragic result of bad parenting. But while readers acknowledge that Shannon isn't completely to blame for her terrible behavior, they're also sick of her [[CousinOliver dominating the strip.]]

** Tara is an authority-hating delinquent who acts like a smug jerk and talks Luann into committing crimes. The fact that [[KarmaHoudini she gets no comeuppance]] just makes it worse.
** Bernice over time, as more and more readers got tired of her [[JerkassToOne shoddy treatment]] of her best friend ([[UngratefulBastard while living in her home rent-free, no less]]), as well as the fact that [[KarmaHoudini she almost never gets called out on it by anyone]]. Her turning unlikable whenever there's a boy she likes doesn't help matters either.

* BrokenBase: The "Tiffany seduces Kip" storyarcs. They're either hilarious, and show that Tiffany needs more CharacterDevelopment, or excruciatingly unfunny, are never going to go anywhere, and ruin Tiffany's character. Making things worse is that it makes Tiffany seem like a {{Jerkass}}, ignoring Ox's crush on her while complaining about being single.

** A lot of Luann's treatment of Gunther during middle/high school has aged ''very'' poorly, particularly her StringingTheHopelessSuitorAlong. She once admitted that her dream was to have Gunther spend the rest of his life in love with her while she would continue to view them as JustFriends. She would get jealous and possessive of him if he liked another girl (especially if the girl liked him as well), declaring that Gunther was ''hers''. This is all despite the fact that she had no interest whatsoever in dating him. Fortunately [[Character Development she eventually outgrew that mindset]].

* ShippingBedDeath: Speculated by fans to be the reason why no couples have gotten together since Gunther and Bets, and why Gunther and Bets are broken up now.

* Ox's unrequited crush on Tiffany.
