* AlternateCharacterInterpretation - Interestingly, I've heard that the Japanese don't have a problem with Masato Kusaka.
* AmericansHateTingle - Masato Kusaka is a fan favorite in Japan. ''KamenRider'' fans from just about everywhere else, on the other hand, ''absolutely loathe'' him for being a [[SmugSnake smug,]] petty-minded {{Jerkass}}.
* BadassDecay - Takuma. At first, he's able to curbstomp all three Renegades on his lonesome, is enough for ''one'' of them in ''human'' form, ''will kick your ass with poetry,'' and at one point wields the stolen Faiz Gear against the good guys (admittedly, though, that last seems to happen a lot.) Later in the series, he's a constantly weepy, whimpering ButtMonkey. Takuma circa #20 and Takuma circa #40 have zero in common and not in a good way.
* DracoInLeatherPants - Masato Kusaka is a {{Yandere}} MagnificentBastard who will [[{{Jerkass}} kill or bully anyone whose in his path.]] He is also extremely popular among KamenRider fans in Japan.

* EsotericHappyEnding: The movie's ending;[[spoiler: yes, Takumi saved Mari, but the world is still overrun by Orphenochs with the human race near extinction and the resistant force pretty much abandon Mari and her friends]].
* FanNickname - one episode has Crane Orphenoch Yuka contracting a virulent flu, and spreading it gradually through the entire cast, all of whom fall very ill indeed (but get better). Based on the mechanism of normal flu infections, [[EpilepticTrees Yuka's Orphenoch immunity system should have killed the flu virus while inadvertently resurrecting some as Flu Orphenochs]], hence the name.
** And the [[ButNotTooForeign clearly mixed-parentage]] Saeko = French Lobster Orphenoch.

** The scene showing the Orphnoch King eating an Orphnoch. Petrifying it first, then breaking its face off and eating it with crunching noises, then opens its mouth with a simple but HORRIBLY disturbing CGI effect.
*** It's also scary because the body of the first petrified Orphenoch, which the King didn't get to eat, was ''pretty much indestructible.'' That makes it freakier.

** Yuka gets it just as bad. She's not only TheUnfavorite and has to deal with AbusiveParents who absurdly dote on her (half? step? foster?) sister, but said sister is an UngratefulBitch who, after Yuka brings their parents to her when she gets hurt, lies off her ass and tells them that it's ''Yuka's'' fault in the first place. Apparently, Yuka's property is also routinely stolen and/or destroyed at school. In an early episode, a group of girls tackle her to the floor and steal her shoes and socks - the next time she sees her stuff, it's torn and cut to pieces. The scene also has minor rape overtones.

That\'s like saying \"popular fan theory\" has it that Riders \'\'kick a lot.\'\' People aren\'t making this up, there\'s a real body count. Why pretending they \'\'are\'\' making it up appears to be the official position of this site is beyond me. I can sympathize with not wanting to admit to a glaring flaw in an otherwise awesome show, but... let\'s remember that there\'s a line between \"Subjective Tropes means there\'s room for opinion\" and \"I hate to be reminded of X, so let\'s just \'\'lie and pretend it away!\'\' If we erase/discredit every mention, that means it didn\'t happen!\" Sorry, but Tackle, Femme, Delta 1.0, Larc, and... whoever it was in Hibiki... \'\'happened.\'\' Let\'s be honest, let\'s say \"Yeah, that sucks, but otherwise it\'s a pretty awesome show!\" and let\'s also remember that Decade let AR Larc live, brought an offscreen female Hibiki Oni \'\'onscreen,\'\' and gave Tackle(\'s ghost) an awesome role, and cross our fingers for the newfound respect continuing when the movie with KR Nadeshiko gets subbed. Okay? Please?

* EpilepticTrees - Popular fan theory states that female Riders die or somehow lose their powers - [[spoiler:Mari gets killed off once despite the Faiz belt never working with her; the only female to use the Delta belt does so for less than a minute; and the female Lobster Orphenoch uses the Kaixa belt without consequence, but still gets screwed over in the series finale.]]
