* AngstDissonance: Many fans wouldn't find it hard to say/do certain things the Jokers refuse or consider to be going too far. There's also the fact that one punishment may involve being rude or being in an uncomfortable situation, while the next could involve a serious phobia being exploited (i.e. the punishment for "Catastrophe" had Herb being chained down and have cats piled on top of him, while the one from the previous episode, "The Parent Trap", was just Joe being condescending to people.) This logic was best described in a joke from "One Night At The Grand":

* FridgeLogic: In one episode BOTH Joe and Murr lost...but only Murr got punished! Why didn't Joe get punished? The rules are if you lose the most challenges, you get punished, and it was a tie. So, logically they BOTH should have received punishments! Although, it's worth mentioning that in the introduction to the punishment, it's clearly evident that Murr thinks that ''Joe'' is going to be the only one punished. Which suggests that Herb and Q were likely misleading him into thinking this, and that he had no evident objection to it. Kind of hard to complain about unfair treatment if you were expecting to be the beneficiary of it.

*** Given that the "Water Torture" episode just made Herb the loser of the episode so they could come up with the punishment on the fly, it could be possible that a situation like that happened in reverse where Joe and Murr were originally gonna be punished together, but something happened (probably Joe's brother getting in like mentioned above) that couldn't be altered so they decided to just say "Welp; guess it's just Murr that's just getting punished, then!" Q also mentioned in the "Water Torture" episode "What are you talking about? We ''make'' the rules!" when questioned if they could do that. So yeah, RuleOfFunny overrides all other rules in their logic.

** Another Q and Murr one: during Murr's skydiving punishment, where he was so terrified that he was legitimately in tears, Q saw how distressed he was and wanted to change course, but Herb and Joe wouldn't budge. Considering that, not too long ago, Q was just fine with Murr getting turned into a human pinata, it's nice to see he does feel concern for his buddy.

** Herb and Murr are each tasked with trying to convince a stranger coming in for an apartment tour to come and live with them. Herb does a piss-poor job, but when it's Murr's turn, he instantly picks up on the guy's friendliness and matches it, both of them quickly getting more and more enthusiastic, high-fiving and hugging and excitedly running around the apartment looking at all the rooms, and even jumping on the couch; they're that giddy at the idea of living with each other. It's nice to see a challenge go genuinely well for both people, and the rest of the Jokers abandon all other potential commands for Murr because they're so ecstatic at the fact that the two of them are getting along so happily.
** Q and Herb both get these moments in "Bidder Loser" on the first challenge that has them get someone to help bury a random item. Q buries the sex robot without any qualms and even chatted up the girl who helped him, but he wouldn't bury a bag containing live goldfish, since he's a dedicated animal lover. Additionally, Herb was supposed to bury his niece, but he refuses to bury her and tells her to never conspire with the guys ever again.

** In the episode where Joe and Herb are the opening act to Music/ImagineDragons, Herb reads out a note where they dedicated this act "to the people of Pittsburgh", in front of the audience of Long Island. This is made more hilarious after Music/BruceSpringsteen, during a 2016 show, gave a shout-out to none other than Pittsburgh in front of an audience in Cleveland.

Come Season 3, and he gets a punishment in which he must secretly get inside the trunk of a stranger's car, whose owner drives off with him. [[spoiler:The stranger turned out to be a friend of Joe's who was in on the punishment.]]

** Herb, Q, and especially Joe are often treated as though they are grotesquely obese, even though their actual weights range from stocky to mildly overweight (their weights have fluctuated over the years). This came to a head in the second episode of season 7, where Herb and Joe had to roleplay as an alien attacking a grossly overweight person, and it was up to the class they were teaching to pick which was which. Herb was chosen as the "grossly overweight" one (though this was probably because he was bigger than Joe at the time).

** How about when the guys snuck into Herb's house while he was away on vacation? Q and his cat Brooklyn rolled around in Herb's bed, Murr drank directly from a milk jug (spilling some of it on the floor) and used his fingers to double-dip into a jar of peanut butter, and Joe slept naked on his sofa, took a massive shit in the toilet, and rubbed his unwashed hands on everything in the bathroom, including Herb's toothbrush. Finally, all three stood naked in his window and pelvic thrusted, where all his neighbors could see. After, the stressed-out Herb (as part of a stress-relieving seminar, no less) declared that he had to move because he now probably had "Hepatitis A through Zed."
** The punishment where Herb was forced to help a cow give birth. He gagged through the entire process, but composed himself long enough to pet the newborn calf and tell it that everybody loves it.
** During his punishment as Flatfoot the Pirate, Herb had to drink breast milk which had been left out in the sun for hours. He promptly threw it up. Not helping is that earlier in the punishment, he had to lick a lollipop that previously been licked by all the children who made up his crew.
** One toy Herb had to pitch to a focus group was Toilet Soldiers: an army base that could be built around a toilet, and soldier action figures. Herb's attempts to justify it were quashed by the group pointing out how unsanitary it would be for kids to be playing in such fashion. The commercial for the product validated their concerns by showing someone dunking the soldiers in the toilet water.

Since What An Idiot is now Flame Bait, all examples are here.

* WhatAnIdiot:
** While Q is a badass who loves [[LoopholeAbuse bending some of the rules]], there were times when he pulled a move that was completely idiotic.
*** In the "What's the Scoop?" challenge, Q dumped his entire bowl of mashed potatoes onto one diner's plate. After that happened, Murr and Joe told him that the object was to dish out the ''most number of scoops'', not to actually empty the bowl. What makes matters worse is that during Prince Herb's and Murr's turns previously, Q ''seemed'' to have understood the game's objective. Q's single giant scoop of potatoes gave him the loss and contributed to his losing the whole episode.
*** In the "Sashay Away" challenge, the Jokers' goal was to get someone to dance with them without talking. Q had his win disqualified when they discovered that he begged two girls to dance with him under his breath. The second time they tried this challenge, they changed the rule from "No talking" to "No talking about dancing." Despite repeated warnings, Q still tried to verbally convince someone to do the hokey pokey with him. He was disqualified again and eventually lost the episode.
*** Another Q one comes from "Bigger in Texas." During the final challenge, in which the Jokers must do and say what they're told while wearing the famous blackout sunglasses, Murr is told to tell an elderly couple that they look like they clearly remember the Alamo. Q, sure that Murr wouldn't do it, volunteered to take the loss for the whole episode if Murr said what he was told to. Guess what the next thing out of Murr's mouth was? To make matters worse, had Q not said that, Murr would've been the one to be punished anyway, as he had already lost the previous two challenges while Q had only lost one. At worst, Q would have been in a double punishment with Murr if he lost his turn, so all his bet did was save Murr from being punished.
** Murr asking if two school children were over 18 ''right in front of a police officer'', though this is justified because children under 18 are not allowed to be on the show without parental consent. Murr had to blow his cover and lose the challenge in order to avoid [[MistakenForPedophile getting in trouble]].
** Murr came up with a [[SarcasmMode bright idea]] to have himself get buried in the sand to introduce a challenge. Guess what the other Jokers did after that introduction ended? When it came time for Murr to do said challenge, he couldn't get out of the sand so the others gave him an instant loss.
** Joe, in "Do Something To My Face," when he bet that Q couldn't get someone to march with him holding a sign that read "Wash It After," after Joe was himself unsuccessful during the task; if Q managed to complete the task, Joe would take the loss for the whole episode. At the time, Murr had the most losses and would've been the episode's big loser. Q accepted the challenge, and got someone to hold the sign and march with him, sending Joe straight to the punishment and sparing Murr.

** Joe is arguably more tame since he got married. One challenge (which happened shortly after his wedding) required him to insult his wife, which he flat out declined to do, while the old Joe would've been perfectly fine with insulting his metaphorical wife. Not only does he back out on subjects regarding his wife, but he now has a fear of sumo wrestlers. ** Joe is arguably more tame [[AchillesHeel since he got married.married]]. One challenge (which happened shortly after his wedding) required him to insult his wife, which he flat out declined to do, while the old Joe would've been perfectly fine with insulting his metaphorical wife. Not only does he back out on subjects regarding his wife, but he now also has a fear of sumo wrestlers. In his punishment, Joe prepared to wrestle with a sumo, but ran away in terror when the fight begins.

Q's single giant scoop of potatoes gave him the loss and contributed to his losing the whole episode.

* AngstDissonance: Many fans wouldn't find it hard to say/do certain things the Jokers refuse or consider to be going too far. There's also the fact that one punishment may involve being rude or being in an uncomfortable situation, while the next could involve a serious phobia being exploited (i.e. "Catastrophe" had Herb being chained down and have cats piled on top of him, while the previous episode "The Parent Trap" was just Joe being condescending to people.) This logic was best described in a joke from ''One Night At The Grand'' by Joe.

** In the Season 2 episode "Cyber Buddies", Murr's punishment involves hosting a computer cleanliness seminar. One of the files he comes across in the computer's recycle bin is named "Gross Baltimore People." A woman tells Murr she's from Baltimore, to which he replies, "So you know what I'm talking about." The Baltimore riots in 2015 make this moment cringeworthy.
** In the Season 3 episode "Snow Way Out", Murr has to get a signature for a made-up holiday. He goes up to a woman and says he need to get a signature for "Bill the Cosby," then does an impression of Cosby. The woman ends up refusing to sign it, giving Murr the loss. After Cosby's 2015 rape allegations, this starts making sense.
** In the Season 3 episode "B-I-N-G-NO", the guys make Murr climb into a popsicle cart, at which point Q goes over, shuts the cart, and takes it for a spin. It looked pretty funny...until a couple years later, on an "Inside Jokes" special, where it was revealed that the cart had ''dry ice'' in it, giving Murr burns on his legs severe enough that he needed to go to the hospital (the Jokers didn't know this beforehand.)
** A challenge in the Season 6 episode "Vampire Weakened" has Q rename Joe's dog Mishkeen to Ice-Pops, claiming it was wearing it's dead brother's collar. At the very end, after the credits, it was revealed Mishkeen [[TearJerker actually did die shortly after the filming.]]

To make matters worse, no matter how the challenge played out, Murr would've been the one to be punished; he had already lost the previous two challenges, while Q had only lost one. At worst, Q would have been in a double punishment with Murr if he chickened out during his turn. All he did with this bet was save Murr from being punished.
** Murr asking if two school children were over 18 ''right in front of a police officer'', but justified in that children under 18 are not allowed to be on the show without parental consent. Murr needed to blow his cover and lose the challenge in order to avoid [[MistakenForPedophile getting in trouble]].

*** In the "What's the Scoop?" challenge, Q dumped his entire bowl of mashed potatoes onto one diner's plate. After that happened, Murr and Joe told him that the object was to dish out the most ''most number of scoops, scoops'', not to actually empty the bowl. What makes matters worse is that during Sal's and Murr's turns previously, Q seemed ''seemed'' to have understood the game's objective. Q's single giant scoop of potatoes gave him the loss and contributed to his losing the whole episode.
*** In the "Sashay Away" challenge, the Jokers' goal was to get someone to dance with them without talking. Q had a his win overturned disqualified when it was they discovered that he begged two girls to dance with him under his breath. The second time they tried this challenge, they changed the rule from "No talking" to "No talking about dancing." Despite repeated warnings from the other Jokers, warnings, Q still tried to verbally convince someone to do the hokey pokey with him. He was disqualified again, again and eventually lost the episode.
*** Another Q one comes from "Bigger in Texas." ** During bonus footage of Season 8's "Autograph Corrector," Q was already feeling miserable about his punishment, which had him ruining pictures that Yankee great Tino Martinez autographed for fans, when his next target, a little girl with her father, was headed his way. Q begged for a pass, which Joe, himself a father to a young daughter, [[EveryoneHasStandards gave without hesitation.]]

** Q has been losing more episodes as of season 5, which sticks out because prior to that, he had lost the fewest episodes of the four. Ironically, that honor now goes to Joe.

* CrazyAwesome: Q and Joe both have moments of this. It ends up winning them a lot of challenges, because [[RefugeInAudacity they're so audacious]].
