Not Ymmv. Although Strawman Has A Point probably fits this trope but I’m unsure for now?

* JerkassHasAPoint: Shougo’s senpai in Hakusenkai. While it was wrong to lure Yuu into a fight, he is right that Shougo is given far too much leeway. Not only does he not follow the rules of the dojo, he doesn’t even bother to come. All he seems to use Hakusenkai for is as a [[BadassBoast badass boast]].
** He’s also depicted as a [[SoreLoser sore loser]] for making up rules that give him the advantage when sparing with Shougo, but he only started doing that when Shougo began using street fighting tactics in regular sparring matches.

* CompleteMonster: Yagi kidnaps the hero's {{love interest}} Mai, force-feeds her the drug True to get her into a state of severe addiction, and ties her up in a place where three of his henchmen might possibly rape her. He has the whole thing video-recorded and broadcast over the Internet via his cellular phone as a way to keep Yuu from fighting back while Yagi's thugs beat him to a pulp. Even his boss [[SmugSnake King]] doesn't sink this low.

'''Assorted Thugs:''' Gorilla warfare?!
* NightmareFuel: Brutal streetfights and when Yuu Kamishiro snaps to his darkside.
** Yoshii.
*** He's first seen reacting to Yuu beating up one of his guys by calling up Iwado. One of the Setashou delinquents takes issue at it, so Yoshii lets him fight Iwado... Fully knowing what happens when one fights a Judoka.
*** For a while he just seemed a NonActionBigBad, then we find out how he got in power at Setashou: after [[OneManArmy Taka took down a group of third years]] that had been bullying him and a then-harmless Yoshii, Yoshii grabbed a knife and [[KickThemWhileTheyreDown did something horrible to them]], claimed to have done everything by himself, and ''got away with it by having been attacked first''. [[FromNobodyToNightmare Thus Yoshii the loser suddenly became the most feared guy in his school]], with only Taka, who considers himself in debt to him for taking the fall of beating up the upperclassmen, knowing what actually happened.
*** Right before his fight with Izawa we have a description of the three types of knife fighters, with the third, the metodic one that tries to cut you in the arms and let you bleed and tire before moving in for the kill, being explicitly called the most dangerous. The narration follows it up by saying that ''Yoshii is doing just that''. And this time he's not wearing the SlasherSmile he had before when taking out the upperclassmen, but a ''calm'' snarl.
*** His backstory and thoughts make him even scarier by revealing there's very little difference between him and Yuu. Just like him, he was a heavily depressed bullying victim who one day found a way to react and fight for his place... [[FridgeHorror Meaning that Yuu could have come out just like Yoshii in slightly different circumstances, only being a better fighter]].
** Ryuu and Tetsu are UsefulNotes/MixedMartialArts practitioners who left their gym (or were expelled, it's unclear) because they just loved to ''break'' their opponents, not just defeat them. What this means is shown ''very'' clearly when [[FeelNoPain Katou]] tries to muscle in King's operation and Ryuu [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beats him until he starts crying for help-and then strangles him]].

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Is Shougo a BloodKnight or a DirtyCoward. The reason his fellow Hakusen students don’t like him is that he keeps turning sparring matches into street brawls. This is the reason he doesn’t do tournament is he finds the rules to restricting. He became TheResenter and joined King when he couldn’t defeat Yuu. All in all Shougo only seems to enjoy fighting when he has the advantage, something King’s CoDragons, eventually called him out on when he kept procrastinating dealing with Yuu.

* InformedWrongness: The series tried to deconstruct the ArrogantKungFuGuy trope by presenting them as [[SoreLoser sore losers]] when they get angry when they’re defeated using street fighting tactics. For example the Boxing Club members got really angry at Yuu when he knocked down Yamazaki in a boxing match by suddenly using grappling moves. Only for Nakamura to use the fact that Yuu is an amateur as an excuse. However when Yamazaki goes along with it he’s presenting as in the wrong with Shin and Nakamura telling him he pushed Yuu too far.
** There is a lot of MoralMyopia present in the series street fighters regularly skew things in their favor such as threatening to call the police, or not following the rules of sanctioned matches, but when the rules are against them they are presented as the victims.
** Basically the martial artist are treated as wrong for being angry when street fighters challenge them to martial arts matches yet don’t follow the rules of those matches.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Shougo’s senpai in Hakusenkai. While it was wrong to lure Yui into a fight he is right that Shougo is given far too much leeway. Not only does he not follow the rules of the dojo he doesn’t even bother to come. All he seems to use Hakusenkai for is a BadassBoast.

** It may only be a coincidence, but to this troper Yagi is very similar to Jagi, the notorious {{Complete Monster}} villain of {{Fist Of The North Star}}. Their personalities are similar, as is their status as underlings to the {{Big Bad}} of their series (King and Raoh, respectively). Even their names resemble each other. Both of them also ultimately turn out to be abject cowards who end up begging for mercy before their destruction.
