** There are moments in the manga where Clover and Mallow appears to really care about each other. This is more notable in the anime adaptation mainly during close up scenes between the two. They are mostly portrayed as SchoolGirlLesbians by Japanese fans of the series. Doesn't help that in one story in volume 4 has Mallow asking that if she was a male would Clover kiss her or fall in love with her. This has also become a common pairing in Japan.

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: Rambler manages to lift a tree that got himself trapped due to worrying about Clover drowning from the flood and rain.
** Clover gets a big one in the final story of Volume 5.
* CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming: [[https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/13/3f/4b/133f4b869168556c96fefa044d674a8e.jpg Clover defending Mallow]] after Kale sees them and yells out "Big Ears" at least in the anime. Mallow starts to cry a little when Kale talks about her weird ears.
** While also a tearjerker, Mallow defending Clover after Mallow hurt her foot while going down a hill in Volume 1. She later starts crying in front of the adults and Clover after she explains why this situation happened in the first place. Near the end of the story, Twirl the squirrel decides to visit Mallow after hearing what happened. He genuinely feels sorry for her and actually gives her a gift that is actually genuine which Clover at first doesn't notice when Mallow mention what the gift was from. Clover opens up the gift and it turns out to be food Clover then feels surprised and thanks Mallow since she learned that despite Twirl being a trickster and causes pranks. Clover learns that Twirl has a good heart deep inside.
** In volume 5, the story "Mallow's Hearts flutters" where [[spoiler: Shallot accidentally confesses that he loves Mallow]] since Mallow learns that Kale wasn't at school that day and decides to visit his room and starts taking care of him. She explains how he got bruises on his hands and Shallot tries giving excuses until he gets frustrated and accidentally tells Mallow that [[spoiler: he really likes her]] complete with a shot in the next panel of Mallow blushing and decides to hug him. Shallot reacts to the hug by passing out in pure happiness and Clover then notices that Mallow's been hugging alot of animals lately. Mallow mentions that her heart started feeling very strange and funny when she hears Shallot's words since this is the second story which focuses more on Mallow then Clover.
** How Hickory takes Clover's bad situation in the fifth volume after framing the Bulbul brothers for being thieves. She's afraid of telling this to the adults but Hickory comforts Clover and makes a hand gesture meaning even if she does get in trouble. He will be right by her side.
** Clover putting a leaf on a little girl who just scratched her foot after running away and tripping after getting spooked by Blackberry' mother in volume 2. While the girl has not treated Clover very good when she sees her crying after hurting herself she feels very sorry for her and uses a leaf as a band aid. It is later revealed that the boy that Clover meet in Volume 1 was his young daughter and recognizes it.
** One story in Volume 4, has Clover getting so worried about the show that a new bunny who visits Crescent Forest named "Luna" grabs her hand and squeezes it to calm her down. When the actual show begins, it's Luna who gets very worried and Clover does the same with him. In the end of the story, Luna kisses Clover much to the surprise of the other animals.

* TearJerker: The manga has some pretty emotional moments.
** One story in Volume 1, has Mallow crying in front of her mother,Professor Hoot and her best friend Clover after hearing them scolding Clover for convening her to go down a dangerous hill. She blames the entire situation on herself since she wanted to be like Clover.
** When Rambler gets stuck under a tree which also contains a hard rock. Clover attempts to get him out by digging under the tree. However it starts to ran and Rambler starts worrying about Clover's safety by telling him that's shes in trouble. She begins to cry unaware of a flood heading straight to the hole that she dug up. She continues to dig deeper until the flood finally arrives and Rambler yells her name as she begins drowning. Rambler gets to worried that he uses his strength to lift up the tree that he was stuck under until he see's Mr Mole who saved her. It's alot more emotional in the anime due to how desperate Rambler and Clover are during this situation which started out as a race.
** Kale crying in volume 4 because he thinks he's a terrible big brother. Keep in mind, at the time this was when Kale's mother was pregnant and is soon expecting a baby.
** Mallow starts thinking she doesn't have any good future goals and smiles throughout the story which Clover refers to as a "Fake Smile" which starts depressing Clover. She's so worried about Mallow that she skips her lunch and later suffers a stomach ache due to this along with he getting more worried about Mallow. Mallow notices this and quickly thinks up a way for her friend to feel better. In the end of the story, Mallow reveals what he new goal is [[spoiler: a nurse/doctor]].
** Clover crying in her monster form in volume 4 after she notices that nobody including her friends even recognizes her. Mallow notices the monster crying until it eventually transforms back into her bunny self. Clover's friends thought the monster ate Clover which explains why they attack it.
** In Volume 5, Clover invites Rambler over to sleep at her place for the night. However he prefers to sleep outside but Clover insists for him to sleep inside. When it starts to rain, Clover desperately wants him to stay at her place for the night but Rambler refuses and as Clover tries pulling him back to her place he snatches his hand away from her. She starts crying and runs back to her place and starts catching a cold in the process. It's not until the next morning that Clover discovers [[spoiler: Rambler quietly crying and tells her why he doesn't like sleeping inside a house or a bed. He reveals that reminded him of his old home he used to live inside along with remembering his mother. But ever since his home got destroyed, he gets very bad memories of the event. This drives Clover to tears and apologizes to him about the other night.]]
** [[spoiler: The last chapter, from Clover crying and hating Rambler due to him rejecting her until she realized he was just protecting the animals from a forest fire from Clover sacrificing her own life by becoming a fish to stop the fire, which Rambler somewhat regretted and cried that she is gone forever.]]
* NightmareFuel: The monster [[spoiler: which turns out to be Cinnamon and Twirl causing trouble]] can be pretty terrifying especially how the voice sounds in the anime.
** The final story in volume 5 where a Forest fire is heading to Crescent Forest. Compared to the other stories in the series, this is pretty dark and alot more serious than the previous stories.
