This should not be on this page due to it being Flame Bait. I moved the example to the subpage of What an Idiot! fitting it.

* WhatAnIdiot: In ''Rainbow Rescue'', the Ham-Hams need to get 7 ingredients that correspond to a colour of the rainbow. Boss, naturally, wants an orange when getting an orange ingredient. The problem is that, along the way, Hamtaro gets a carrot, which is also orange-coloured, its description even explicitly saying that the carrot is orange-coloured.
** '''You'd Expect:''' The Ham-Hams would bring the carrot.
** '''Instead:''' They keep looking for an orange.

Tastes Like Diabetes is no longer a trope. Moving examples to other tropes when applicable.

* TastesLikeDiabetes:
** Some people think Spat, the cats and the chicks are cute/funny. Other thinks they're Premium Grade-A Nightmare Fuel.
** The lyrics to Glitter's song "Love is All Around" may count. Kinda understandable since Glitter's music is mostly marketed to preteen girls such as Laura and her friends.

* VanillaProtagonist: Hamtaro's defining trait is that he's a NiceGuy and he likes spending time with his friends, while his owner is a normal GirlNextDoor. All of his friends have their own quirky personalities, all different from each other, and many of them also have interesting backstories.

The CD haves 19 tracks but only 7 are original songs: the others are the first two theme songs, a latin-style cover of the first theme song and nine pieces of a sort-of radio drama about Hamtaro and Bijou lost in the underground caves leading to the Clubhouse

** The Italian dub added a rather peculiar reference joke: Cappy's owners were renamed Sandra and Raimondo, after the beloved married couple and comedy duo of the late Sandra Mondaini and Raimondo Vianello.

** More recently, some fans have started to read a bit too far into the "red string of fate" symbolism regarding how Laura and Maria's families both ended up not moving away after seeming like they'd have to (as in, applying the symbolism to Laura and Maria themselves instead of just to Hamtaro and Bijou as was probably intended).

** Unsurprisingly, just about every fan of the show ships Hamtaro/Bijou and Sandy/Maxwell.
** To a lesser degree, Dexter/Pashmina seems significantly more popular than Howdy/Pashmina. Some of the video games even nod to this.

This trope is In-Universe Examples Only.

* {{Mondegreen}}:
** The second season theme is so fast-paced and contains so much ham-speak that it's not unusual for transcriptions of it to often get at least some of the lyrics wrong.
** And then there's ''200% no Jumon'', see Memetic Mutation above. Full of {{g|agSub}}ems like ''You see the hand with the bomb-candy!'' and ''[[Creator/JoeDante Ninja Dante]]!''
** In the English dub, when Penelope still said "Ookyoo," her saying it right after someone else said a word ending in an "f" or "ph" could have possibly [[PrecisionFStrike caused some problems.]] There's a good chance that this is why she started saying "Ookwee" in ''The Precious Letter''.

She's either justified in stopping him from flirting or annoying and repetetive.a hypocrite because she's in a relationship herself.
