* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: Owing much to her old label being [[UsefulNotes/{{Germany}} German,]] Emilie did quite a bit of touring in Europe (5 tours since 2007) with ''Opheliac'' before getting to perform in North America at all and it wasn't until late 2009 that she could do a full tour. She knows it and gave a ShoutOut to the [[Creator/DavidHasselhoff Hoff]] in a recent interview.

** When taken at face value, it's easy to see "Thank God I'm Pretty" as Wangst, particularly for fans who aren't that pretty themselves. More generally, though, it can be interpreted as a statement that nobody has the right to judge your problems as trivial just because you have an attribute that someone else lacks, which is something to which most people can relate.

More generally, though, it can be interpreted as a statement that nobody has the right to judge your problems as trivial just because you have an attribute that someone else lacks, which is something to which most people can relate. And the song itself points out that there is ''nothing'' fun about sexual harassment or abuse, and having that be met with "But you're pretty!"

* DoesNotLikeMen: EA has been accused of this, especially with the dawn of the song "Fight Like a Girl" (''I'll get my revenge on the world or at least 49% of the people in it.'' [[note]]The "49%" bit referring to the fact that women, despite their oppressed status, form a slight majority over men in many countries' populations)[[/note]]).
** She has countered this by saying most of the album is open to her male fans and there is some lines about "If you're against this you're with me regardless of gender" lyrics. At least in the demo version before she started performing it.
*** Also in the (recently released) studio version of "Fight Like a Girl," there's the line 'Even if you're only a boy, you can fight like a girl.' Not perfect, but doesn't ENTIRELY hate men.
*** One could also consider that the "49%" is not necessarily referring to the percentage of men there are in the world, but rather, to the fact that Emilie has more supporters on her side than those that are not:
-->"There are more of us than there are of you / So show me your worst!"
** FridgeBrilliance comes into play when it comes full circle, she's refer to woman as the stronger sex, while saying Fight Like a Girl (Weakly) which confuses people which is the POINT of the whole exercise... With the 49 percentile (The people who don't get it) and the If You're Only A Boy ("Even if you're just a boy you can join in too.")

** After the release of ''Opheliac'' Emilie promised that the next album would be more metal and violent, and a few muffins worried that it might be bad. When Fight Like a Girl ended up being a musical concept album instead, other fans complained much more loudly about the change in direction.

* BrokenBase: '''Yes.''' There are two camps. Those who love Emilie and support her no matter what, and those who have [[RuleOfCautiousEditingJudgement grown tired of her behaviour, and feel that she's completely lost what made her special in the first place]].
** ''Fight Like a Girl'' has alienated a lot of her ''Opheliac'' era fans as it's not as personal and has more filler than ''Opheliac''.

'''Yes.''' There are two camps. Those who love Emilie and support her no matter what, and those who have [[RuleOfCautiousEditingJudgement grown tired of her behaviour, and feel that she's completely lost what made her special in the first place]].
** Each of her three studio albums have a distinctly different fanbase. ''Fight Like a Girl'' has alienated a lot of her ''Opheliac'' era fans as because it's not as personal and has more filler than ''Opheliac''.''Opheliac'' did. Her first album, ''Enchant'', is wildly softer and more fairy tale oriented than either ''Opheliac'' or ''Fight Like a Girl'', which doesn't impress fans of her later and darker works.

* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: There were some opinions of this around the release of ''Opheliac'' and with Emilie's promises of the next album being more metal and violent, some are already worried about it being bad.
** The Asylum forum... ''dear'' '''''God''''', the Asylum forum... just about every significant change has led to rage and fury from the muffins (the removal of the 'Filthy Libertines' subforum, the announcement that the 'Speak in Your Own Language' subforums would be made read-only, the chat's transformation, and the removal of every non-EA related subforum to say the least.)
*** There was a rather lovely incident where (Queen) fLee, a former moderator for the forums, made some comment alleging that some people had lied about the reasons they were banned. Cue a very angry reaction from fandom calling her out for being probably one of the biggest reasons why the fandom has become so fractured (she would ban people for ridiculous reasons, and generally was not a nice person to interact with.) One of the biggest resulting scandals can be found summarized [[http://encyclopediadramatica.se/Emilie_Autumn#Drama_continues_and_The_Reform here]] -- NSFW.
*** The story became more complicated when it was revealed that the "fan" who had made the comments was [=IceAxe=], who was well known for being a rather disturbed individual who borderline stalked Emilie (and in fact is still obsessed with her.) The details are [[http://waywardvictorianconfessions.tumblr.com/post/87603073688/ as follows]]:
--> "[=IceAxe=] is an Emilie Autumn hoarder and ex-moderator of the forums. Everything that is Emilie related he HAS and I mean everything. Emilie sold an old iPhone of hers on Website/{{Ebay}} and put some random things like music and voice recordings on it. [=IceAxe=] won it. When he got kicked off the moderator team and banned from the forums, he found Emilie's old phone number on the iPhone. Taking a shot, he sent a private text message to that number and it turns out that was STILL Emilie's number. She freaked out and promptly banned him from any Emilie Autumn shows or events for life."

* FandomRivalry: With Music/LadyGaga's fans, Little Monsters, especially after Emilie said that she heard "Alejandro" in a store and "it made [her] want to blow [her] brains out" (although she later claimed to have never heard any of Gaga's songs and to not be familiar with her,) and after she accused both Gaga and the film Film/SuckerPunch of "stealing" her story (and in Gaga's case, of "stealing" her stage props of a wheelchair and crutches.)

* CrackIsCheaper: A lifetime membership in her official fanclub was $100, though on the plus side, you got some awesome swag in addition to membership. When she stopped accepting lifetime memberships, prices became much, much more reasonable. Unfortunately, the fanclub barely lasted a year and closed in September 2014.

** Before the forum closed, she reacted poorly to many opinions that were critical to her, and to insults and assumptions made about her bipolar disorder. Both of these lead to the infamous [=CosetteAlice=] incident, which lead to her quitting the forum entirely before she closed it years later.
