* DemonicSpiders: Numerous examples. Exactly which monsters qualify varies depending on your character build, but Oblivion Knights, Gloams and Stygian Dolls are some of the worst.

Added DiffLines:

* GoddamnBats: Plenty of them, but the Leapers most definitely qualify. They attack by jumping, and are knocked away every time you hit them. They are also fast enough to dodge ranged attacks, and always attack in large numbers. The pigmies in act 3 swarm you in large numbers or attack with their blowpipes from a long distance, and their shamans can revive them. Their undead versions are even stronger and explode when killed. Then there are the imps from act 5. They teleport, shoot fire from a long distance, and mount towers or war beasts where they're even harder to touch. And finally, the suicide bombers. They charge you at high speed and explode, knocking you back taking out a large chunk of your life and possibly freezing you.
** The druid can summon these to his side in the form of ravens. They barely do any damage, but they are fast, cannot be attacked in any way, and can blind anything they attack.
** The mummies, who spew clouds of poision in death and can be produced by a MookMaker, the saber cats and slingers, who come in swarms, can throw exploding or poison potions, and move really fast, but die quickly, and ''anything'' that can poison you in Hell.

** Smiters are arguably stronger than even Hammerdins. They attack as fast as a fully automatic assault rifle, and every attack instantly fully heals them. Especially against bosses, they're invincible. Even an entire army of the toughest demons in the game on the hardest difficulty all beating on you like like mad will only make you laugh.
** You're bending the truth here. Smiters don't heal with every attack. They need to cast Life Tap on an enemy before hitting them recovers health. Until Life Tap is cast (either by chance to cast on hit with some items or using a wand with Life Tap charges), the Smiter is in an awful position. Smiters can also only hit one enemy at a time, unlike Hammerdins, and this makes clearing mobs with them extremely tedious.

** Ice Build Sorceresses. For two major reasons. First, any frozen enemy has a chance to be shattered, destroying the corpse. As such, all those ressurrecting enemies? Lose their minions very quickly. Second, in the latter parts of Nightmare, and Hell in it's entirety, each enemy has a random immunity. The other two Mastery skills for sorceresses just straight up increase damage dealt in their applicable skill trees. Ice Mastery, however, does not. It LOWERS YOUR ENEMIES' RESISTANCES to cold damage, allowing you to pierce their immunities, at high enough levels. Granted, it still doesn't make ice truly EFFECTIVE against them, but allows a Sorceress to not be comlpetely halted.

** ThatOneBoss - Formerly (and for some builds, still) Duriel due to some loading issues early in the games life that resulted in him killing you before the game loaded his lair. * ThatOneBoss: Duriel. Extremely fast, hits like a freight train, has a ton of hit points, has a cold aura that slows you down, and the arena is so small that HitAndRunTactics go out the window. Did I mention the arena has no exits, either? When you fight him, you better have plenty of Town Scrolls.

* UnpleasableFanbase: See They Changed It Now It Sucks above, but also the fanbase-wide belief, similar to ''{{Starcraft}}'' fans, that Diablo gets neglected in favor of ''WorldOfWarcraft'' due to the latter being Blizzard's cash cow. The lack of a new game in the series for the past 10 years makes it hard to argue with, as well as the ramshackle state of Diablo 2's online servers. The theories that Blizzard gets a cut from item shops and advertising bots can escalate to the realm of IRL EpilepticTrees.
