Except he only kills Asshole Victims — and even then, he shows no indication of wanting to kill anyone but the gang specifically — whereas they all attack and terrorize innocents (including his entire family) with impunity. So while his Roaring Rampage Of Revenge is definitely tragic and unsaintly, "Not So Different" is more of an Informed Flaw — and only used by the Big Bad to taunt Nick, giving shades of Unreliable Narrator as well.
