* In "Birthday Bash", Rusty takes an alien device from the labs to give as a birthday present. However, the device [[BodyHorror binds things together against all laws of physics]] , which we see from two scientists fused together. Lt.Hunters sister is fused into a wall of her house, left an inanimate statue, unable to move. At the end of the episode, the two aliens attempting to retrieve the tech are practically [[HoistByTheirOwnPetard melted together]].

* HeartwarmingMoments: In "The Inside Scoop", Dr.Slate, having discovered Lt.Hunters identity as the pilot of Big Guy, tells him to "be careful in there", starting the pairs relationship.
** Slate reveals later that, even though she found out, because Big Guy is Rusty's hero, she doesn't want to ruin that by revealing the truth and promises to [[SecretKeeper keep it to herself]].
** In the same episode, Neugog attempts to worm his way into the BGY suit with his tentacles and everyone, including Dr.Slate, beg Hunter to bail out to safety. Hunter refuses flat out, as he doesn't want Rusty to find out he isn't a robot, but also trusting him for the first time, as before he had considered Rusty as an annoyance.
* In "Sibling Mine", when a big green cyclopean creature is named a terrorist by Donovan after a scientist disappears during a teleportation experiment, Rusty notices that it cowers and, while he misunderstands it at first that it is taking it easy on him because he's "just a kid", he's the only one among the party who tries to communicate with it. This makes the military believe he's too weak to handle it, but he stays the course. It turns out it switched places with the scientist during the experiment and was just lost and scared, trying to communicate this with a drawing, which Hunter and Slate eventually translate. When the team finally get the experiment working to send him back home, Rusty shows the creature a drawing of them together before Dr.Slate yanks him away, though the creature quickly grabs the picture in its mouth and gives Rusty what can only be described as a smile before it is sent back home.

* Heartwarming: In "The Inside Scoop", Dr.Slate, having discovered Lt.Hunters identity as the pilot of Big Guy, tells him to "be careful in there".

Arriving on Earth and forcing the Big Guy into combat, Po flies into a rage when Rusty saves the Big Guy armor from Po's captivity, prompting Po to rampage on Robopolis and threaten to destroy the whole planet. Even when beaten down by Big Guy and showed mercy, Po feigns remorse only to try to wipe out Earth anyway "just for laughs" [[SoreLoser out of spite at being defeated]].

*** The Legion is working from whatever they can salvage, steal, or replicate. They've only been shown shopping twice, and that was with money they stole from a bank vault.

* I'm surprised Dr. Slate isn't more stunned after the revelation the Big Guy has pilot. I mean, never mind the ongoing deception... that means that she really and truly created '''the first successful AI robot'''. Not counting [[spoiler: Dr. Poindexter's machines that became]] the Legion Ex Machina, as their emotion grids failed to balance their logic circuits. Rusty is the first robot to be invented that's fully self-aware, could pass a Turing Test, and mostly acts and feels like a young boy (barring all the saving-the-world stuff). She should be getting Nobel prizes and grants and honorary degrees! But instead, not only is the world unaware of Lt. Hunter's heroism, it's also unaware of Dr. Slate's fantastic strides in technology.
