* LyingFingerCross: Played with, when Dracula claims that he had his fangs crossed after promising to let Shaggy and friends go. We actually see his fangs crossing when he promises to return Shaggy to normal and let him and his friends return home in exhcange for participating in the big race.

* KryptoniteProofSuit: Dracula is able to go out in the daylight by putting on sunscreen. Presumably, Vanna Pira wears it too because she also goes out in the sun.

* RememberTheNewGuy: Googie, who is introduced as Shaggy's girlfriend. It's implied that they've been dating for a decent while, as Shaggy, Scooby, and Scrappy seem pretty comfortable around her, and she comes over to his house quite a lot. However, this is the first time she's seen by the audience.

* SmallRoleBigImpact: Wolfgang has almost no dialogue except at the very beginning of the movie and disappears form the story entirely soon after the race begins (being briefly seen operating a camera filming Dracula at the beginning of it) but he is the one who first shot Dracula the book on how to make a new werewolf, and how to make Shaggy that werewolf.

%%* InNameOnly: Pretty much the only thing the movie has in common with ''Scooby-Doo'' is Scooby, Shaggy, and Scrappy being in it (and even they're way off, since they're now a world-famous funny-car racer and his pit crew). There are no mysteries or mystery elements, the monsters are entirely real and are never even thought to be fake, and the plot is basically ''WesternAnimation/WackyRaces''. If you changed the names and designs of the above characters, you would never know it was a ''Scooby-Doo'' film.

* ComedicUnderwearExposure: One of the nights that the Hunch Bunch are trying to transform Shaggy, Dracula uses a laser of some kind to transmit a hologram of himself. However, as Brunch says, "Something appears to have been lost in the transmission" - the hologram is missing Dracula's pants, so his boxer shorts are visible. He quickly covers up with his cape after realizing this. When the transmission ends, the boxer shorts are left behind.

* DeusExMachina: At the end, Dracula manages to catch the group in a magic storm tornado that should keep them up hoisted in the sky helplessly all night long until they run out of time in changing Shaggy back. Dracula opts to try to get it on camera - [[LaserGuidedKarma only for the storm to zap him.]] Without explanation, the weather completely disappears and everyone realizes ''they somehow landed on a passenger jet plane'', riding it back to America without even having to lift a finger to save themselves at that point.

* BeeAfraid: The Hunch Bunch try to sic Transylvanian Bees on our heroes. It backfires.

* MinionWithAnFInEvil: Vanna Pira may be on Dracula's side, but doesn't really show any signs of being evil, apart from laughing when Shaggy, Scooby, Scrappy and Googie wake up at the castle and see all the monsters in front of them.

* SoreLoser: Dracula doesn't take it well after Shaggy and Scooby win the race.

Dracula sends his minions the [[ThoseTwoBadGuys Hunch Bunch]], a pair of [[TheIgor hunchbacks]], to America to transform Shaggy and bring him to Transylvania. Shaggy refuses to take part, however, and Dracula makes a deal with him: If Shaggy can win the [[WackyRacing Monster Road Race]], Dracula will undo the transformation. However, the Count has no intention of letting his new werewolf go that easily...

* ThoseTwoBadGuys: The Hunch Bunch are two villains always seen together who serve Dracula.

* RuleOfThree: The moon's power only works during three nights. The Hunch Bunch turn Shaggy during the [[ThirdTimeIsTheCharm third one]].

* TeleporterAccident: Count Dracula tries out a new teleportation device to send a message to the Hunch Bunch, upon which he (and the Hunches) discover that it left his pants behind. When he finishes his message and teleports back, it leaves his boxer shorts behind this time. Dracula understandably does not use the teleporter again.
* {{Thememobile}}: All of the cars in the race except the Werewolf Car are themed after the monsters driving them.

* ArbitrarySkepticism: Shaggy is resistant to Scooby's attempts to warn him about the Hunch Bunch, despite this movie likely taking place after [[WesternAnimation/The13GhostsOfScoobyDoo their adventure to capture a hoard of real, monstrous ghosts]].

* RememberTheNewGuy: Googie, who was created solely for the movie to have a female lead. She hasn't appeared in any Scooby media since then.

* ExcusePlot: Shaggy's transformation into a werewolf is surprisingly incidental. It's really only an excuse so Scooby Doo and the gang have a reason to go WackyRacing with a bunch of public domain monsters.

* WackyRacing: Racing with vehicles equipped with gimmicks is the main premise of the film. Heck, this ''is'' practically ''WesternAnimation/WackyRaces'', only with Scooby and monsters.

''Any''way, we shift to darkest Transylvania, where Count {{Dracula}} is holding a meeting of monsters at his castle. It's time to decide the Monster of the Year, but the {{Werewolf}} is absent, having gone into retirement. With one of the most iconic monsters AWOL, Dracula is about to call the contest off until he learns of a special night--three of them--when the moon comes into position to make a ''new'' werewolf. Unfortunately, that new werewolf is none other than Shaggy!

* ArtShift: Compared to the previous two Scooby-Doo movies in the ''Hanna-Barbera Superstars 10'' series, which used hand-painted cel animation, this one was digitally colored in-house at H-B.[[note]]The actual animation was done overseas by Creator/WangFilmProductions and Creator/FilCartoons.[[/note]] At times, the [[SpecialEffectsFailure limitations of the early computer system really show]]. This and ''[[WesternAnimation/YogiBear Yogi]] and the Invasion of the Space Bears'' (which came before this one) were the only two movies in the series to use digital ink-and-paint.
