* AnAesop: Similar to the first film, the overall message of the movie is that sometimes we just have to take chances and do something that we never thought we would be able to do. Also, just because someone has a disability doesn't mean they are a liability, and we should give them a chance and support them in their attempts to overcome their obstacles, not holding them back from doing so.

* LookingAMiffedAnimalInTheMouth: Played with in ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMv1xKkgI18 Marine Life Interviews]]'' (A short based on ''WesternAnimation/FindingDory''). In the last segment of her interview, Destiny details how Baby Dory used to play hide-and-seek in her mouth, following it up with her suddenly and rather-awkwardly opening her big gaping mouth wide at the viewer, with it taking up the entirety of the screen, and then some. Destiny is a whale shark, which makes it a given that she has a big mouth. However, the trope is averted in that she, and her specific shark species, is a naturally-pacifistic animal who only eats krill and plankton. In this case, she's only opening her mouth either as an example, or as a joke.

If that's not enough, there's also Marlin calling for Becky from a truck that's already miles away from the Institute and Becky responds ''immediately'' despite disappearing from the film halfway through. For tiny fish, Dory and Marlin sure do have some pipes in them.

Feels pretty speculative. Also, is the stinger really a Sequel Hook? It's a Call Back gag more than anything.

What lies next for the ''Finding'' saga? Andrew Stanton has been very quiet about it since the film's release; currently, he is busy working on ''Series/StrangerThings'', and Pixar is busy developing original material for the next several years. However, if some fairly optimistic comments from Stanton and the film's sequel hook after the credits are any indication, there's more to come!

Hank also has two siphons on either side of his face, whereas real octopi have only one on their right side, and he is also shown to have permanently lost a tentacle, whereas real octopi can regrow any arms that have been severed.
