Updating every Monday, Frivolesque follows the Japanese 4-Koma format and is about the everyday life of five different girls with different backgrounds created by Etienne Dez along the years. The grounded optimist Chloé, the quiet introvert Flore, the obsessive fangirl Marie-Neige, the fighting tomboy, Gaia, and the secret operative, Saki.

''[[http://frivolesque.com/ Frivolesque]]'' is a slice of life webcomic by Etienne Dez, starting in March 2013, about an ordinary everyday girl surrounded by weirdos. Or is it the story of an lonely, introverted woman living in her own imaginary world, struggling to deal with those intruding into her life? Could it about a superhuman fighter experiencing some difficulties adjusting to everyday life? Or the story of an obsessive fan-girl and her eternal quest for love? It might even be about a black ops agent trying to mingle with normal people...

* BespectacledCutie: Greatly exploits this as almost every female character in the strip wears glasses.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Mostly subverted with most of the cast, who all have relatively normal hair color. Played straight with Gaia, who has bright green hair, but lampshaded by the fact people in-universe do take notice of it. Saki also has dark blue hair, but the only one to mention it is Gaia.
** Gaia's "siblings" have green hair of the same shade as hers. Their hair also grows at an incredible rate.

** It's more likely a case of YouGottaHaveBlueHair since there is nothing particularly “black” about the character design or behavior, she demonstrates various surreal abilities such as super strength and hair growing back within minutes, and she can apparently adapt her eyes to Saki’s prescription, apparently because she's an ArtificialHuman.

She first showed up in Chloé's dreams, but she's made recurring appearances since, with more evidence of her being real showing up over time.

[[http://frivolesque.com/archives/comic/233-generations At Mimi's birthday party]], her friend Xue mistakes her for Mimi's aunt, and even says that she thinks that Chloe looks more like she'd be Mimi's mom than Mimi's ''actual'' mother does.

* SunglassesAtNight: Liliane keeps hers on all the time. They kinda fit seeing as she's the head of some secret agency, but she also wears them when she's casually hanging out with her sister and friends. Her mother does the same thing.

* RememberTheNewGuy: Most secondary characters are introduced this way, most notably Delphine, Marie-Neige roommate, who is mentioned for the first time in chapter 4 but has been supposedly living with her for years. Considering how theavate each other, though, it's not a surprise that they wouldn't like each other.

* OlderThanTheyLook: It comes as a surprise when the small, child-like Flore is revealed to be slightly older than her much more mature looking sister. This seems to apply to their father as well.

* PointlessBandAid: Saki always has one of those on her left cheek. There's also a less noticeable one on her left knee as well. There is no in-universe reason for either of them.

* StrongFamilyResemblance: Flore and Lillian take rather strongly after their father and mother, respectively.

* ActionGirl: Saki... my god... [[http://frivolesque.com/archives/comic/carnage Saki]]. Gaia to a lesser extent. To clarify, they're ''not'' dead, just beaten to a pulp and playing dead until she leaves.
