* CloudCuckooLander: There's two, Lord Auberon Greyburn and Nick The Cutter. The former is almost comically insane with MadArtist forms of expression, and the latter was post conversion able to see spirits. [[AndTheyFightCrime Both became friends.]]

once a week, but sometimes with greater breaks in between.

* DeadpanSnarker: Demetri. Thierry has his moments, too.

* GreyAndGreyMorality: Both Theodore and his sworn enemies - the vampire progenitors - are uncanny, manipulative, and monstrous. It's telling that the protagonist has not committed to a side.

* GreyAndGreyMorality: Both Theodore and his sworn enemies - the vampire progenitors - are uncanny, manipulative, and monstrous. It's telling that the protagonist has not committed to a side. Later, we also get Santi who condemns the progenitor's wickedness, but also kills offspring vampires who don't actively oppose their progenitors or try to protect them. Additionally, he shows few compassion towards humans himself.

** It's too early to tell if she'll un-live long enough to buck the trend, but as the youngest progenitor around Allison Chul has a chance to be perhaps the ''first'' known progenitor not to be psychotic, insane, delusional, or evil. Being younger than Tristan, Jack, and Darren, as well as being protected by them, may allow her to survive long enough to establish a vampire lineage not focused on debauchery and/or slaughter.

* MonstetLord: Progenitors, the first vampire in a lineage who is [[SpontaneousGeneration "born" after being killed]], are both stronger and have a deeper breath of powers than their children. ''However'', PowerAtAPrice crops up in the form of a (usually psychological) weakness, see BeatItThroughCompulsion.

* WhatHaveIBecome: As a story about a man that becomes a vampire, this trope pretty much had to make an appearance. Jack's story is the most explicitly shown version, but Darren also expresses the sentiment in some scenes.

* WarmBloodbagsAreEverywhere: Jack at first, though he does manage to control it pretty well. [[spoiler:Unless a gunshot to the brain is involved.]]
