* HypocriticalHumor: ''Shopping Mall'' gives us an exchange where Sonic tries to get it on with Rouge after the rest of the team sets off to stop the FiveBadBand, where he's pushed away and lands on the ground. He then exclaims "I feel bad when I do that to Amy", followed by Amy randomly showing up to cuddle with Sonic, where Sonic throws her aside as well.

The series officially ended on September 16th 2015, with the aptly named "Sonic Zombie The Finale".

* AllJustADream: [[spoiler:The very end of the series reveals that it was actually all a bad dream had by regular old Sonic, animated in Source Filmmaker.]]

* ArtifactTitle: By the individual video. While all of them actually do include zombies, in many cases the zombies take a back-seat to the MonsterOfTheWeek. This was inverted in ''Doom Ship'', which starts out having nothing to do with zombies, but then they get on the ship.

** The video is far shorter than the rest. This barely totals over four minutes. Everything after has no less than thirteen.
** Amy and Rouge only show the slightest hint at the personalities they will later get, and Tail's doesn't at all. (He doesn't even speak.) Sonic's character seems to be a blend of his pre-''Origins'' and ''Origins''-onwards selves. Shadow is the only one that remains the same throughout the whole series.

* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: Guess where ''Space'', ''Doom Ship'', and ''Shopping Mall'' take place. And yes, every installment in the series has zombies, although they are rarely the central opposing force.

** Website/DeviantART receives quite the number of Take Thats in more recent episodes, such as in ''Shopping Mall'' where Knuckles compares an attacking bear to "the furries kind of like the people on [=DeviantART=]."

* BigDamnHeroes: After several videos of meaningless but hilarious cameos, {{Shrek}} comes to Knuckles' rescue in ''Finale'', and Knuckles even acknowledges his presence!

The '''''Sonic Zombie''''' series is a saga of StylisticSuck videos made in ''[[GarrysMod Garry's Mod]]'' featuring Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog and friends in the midst of a ZombieApocalypse. They were created by Steve AKA [[http://www.youtube.com/user/Balenaproductions Balena Productions]], who became famous for his ''WebAnimation/SonicInJaws'' video.

* CanonImmigrant: Scourge in an odd sort of way. He originates from ComicBook/ArchieComicsSonicTheHedgehog but had a custom model made for GarrysMod and would thus see use in ''Finale''.

* ArtShift: [[spoiler:The very last scene of ''Finale'' is done in Source Filmmaker featuring the regular Sonic we (and Steven of course) know and love. Steve normally uses SFM for his other fan videos such as "Scared Stupid."]]

** ''Finale'' has [[ComicBook/ComicBook/ArchieComicsSonicTheHedgehog Scourge]] as a violent, cruel, sadistic Australian obsessed with Outback Steakhouse and having Rouge as his "Sheila"[=/=]sex slave.

* WhoWritesThisCrap: Just about anybody will lampshade how weird or repetitive the episodes are. ''Inverted'' in Sonic's hornhog transformation, where it's done in a high-quality scene before Eggman asks who decided to give the video a budget. In other words, complaining that the animation is too ''good''. Hornhog-Sonic suddenly turns into the same ''Garry's Mod'' effects as everyone else.

** ''Finale'' has [[ComicBook/ArchieSonicTheHedgehog Scourge]] as a violent, cruel, sadistic Australian obsessed with Outback Steakhouse and having Rouge as his "Sheila"[=/=]sex slave.

** [[ComicBook/ArchieSonicTheHedgehog Scourge]] having an army of recolours is not only a TakeThat to lazy fan characters but to Scourge himself, who Steve has a low opinion of.

** ''Doom Ship'' shows Sonic and Tails [[spoiler:being swallowed by the giant sea monster that attacks Vector's ship, leading to the two depositing two of Vector's laxative "meatballs" in the stomach, causing the monster back to suddenly [[ToiletHumor erupt with feces]], expelling Sonic and Tails in the process]].

* TakeThatAudience: Near the end of ''Vengeance'', Sonic makes a quick stab at viewers who take the series seriously and don't see it as a StylisticSuck series. Another such stunt would appear in ''Space''.

* EnemyMine: [[spoiler:To save his own life, Eggman is forced into joining the heroes during the zombie attack in ''Doom Ship''. He remains loyal to Sonic's team in ''Shopping Mall'', suggesting that he underwent a full HeelFaceTurn.]]

** PottyFailure: Tails is forced to relieve himself when he finds [[BerserkButton Charmy Bee trying to eat one of his tacos]].
