The ''Sonic Zombie'' series is a saga of StylisticSuck videos made in ''VideoGame/GarrysMod'' featuring Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog and friends in the midst of a ZombieApocalypse. They were created by Steve AKA ''Creator/BalenaProductions'', who became famous for his ''WebAnimation/SonicInJaws'' video.

The series officially ended on September 16th 2015, with the aptly named "Sonic Zombie The Finale". In June 5th of 2017, Balena released a bonus one-off titled "Sonic Zombie Forces", based on the then-upcoming video game ''VideoGame/SonicForces''.

!!And then the tropes came!:
* AbnormalLimbRotationRange: Happens with just about every character at some point, intentionally or [[SpecialEffectsFailure not]] thanks to always being dragged around by their heads.
* ActorAllusion:
** As the SS Ikea sinks to the bottom of the sea in ''Doom Ship'', ComicBook/{{Batman}}, ComicBook/CaptainAmerica, [[VideoGame/ResidentEvil Chris Redfield]] and Sonic comment on how bad the situation is. All four of them are voiced by Creator/RogerCraigSmith, whom Steve based his Sonic voice off of.
** Earlier in ''Origins'', Sonic is briefly replaced by Batman who promptly reacts to a rampaging [[spoiler:[[MonsterOfTheWeek Monster Knuckles]]]] with "This is bad."
** Franchise/{{Shrek}} makes frequent cameos in scenes involving Knuckles. Said cameos make more sense when you remember that Knuckles' voice is a parody of Creator/EddieMurphy (Hence Shrek calling Knuckles "DONKEY." That and Knuckles quickly shouting "Film/ComingToAmerica!" as he throws a zombie Cream off of him in ''Origins'')
* AffablyEvil: In [[TheRival Metal Sonic]]'s gang, the only one to show any true desire to kill the lead cast is Metal Sonic himself, [[spoiler:which makes sense once it's revealed that Metal Sonic is really Silver back for revenge yet again]]. Pikachu brushes off Metal's instructions and doesn't even try to kill Knuckles when the two meet face to face (instead opting for a rap contest), Mega Man and Bowser (despite the latter saying "Yeah that sounds fun" when they split up) are more interested in the food available in the mall (Tacos and donuts respectively), and the Dolphin prefers to just pose erotically in front of everyone in the video store.
* AgeLift: Amy says that she's 16 during her song in ''Space''.
* AllJustADream:
** [[spoiler:The very end of the series reveals that it was actually all a bad dream had by regular old Sonic, animated in Source Filmmaker.]]
** [[spoiler:''Forces'' ends with regular Sonic waking up, but then encountering Balena's past Parody Sues, waking up from ''that'', and eventually finding ''Zombie''-Sonic floating over his bed.]]
* AnAssKickingChristmas: ''Origins'' takes place on Christmas.
* AndThenJohnWasAZombie: Cream, Knuckles, [[spoiler: and Bowser]], seconds before they transform.
* ArtShift: [[spoiler:The very last scene of ''Finale'' is done in Source Filmmaker, featuring much higher quality animation and the regular Sonic we (and Steven of course) know and love. Steve normally uses SFM for his other fan videos such as "Scared Stupid."]]
* ArtifactTitle: By the individual video. While all of them actually do include zombies, in many cases the zombies take a back-seat to the MonsterOfTheWeek. This was inverted in ''Doom Ship'', which starts out having nothing to do with zombies, but then they get on the ship. ''Forces'' is the only title to completely lack any zombies, and even it is more of an extra.
* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: A very common theme amongst the monsters featured in the series, with the use of the inflator tool.
* BackFromTheDead: All the time.
* BadBadActing: This series is ''built'' off shoddy acting. Here's an example form ''Vengeance'':
--> '''Knuckles''': Sonic man, I got an idea. We can take up to that.. that crane thing up there that's what it's called I think a crane.
* BadassBiker: [[TheRival The Rivals]] in ''Shopping Mall'' use motorcycles as means of transportation.
* BatmanGambit: [[spoiler: Silver's ultimate goal in ''Vengeance'' revolves around one. To make a long story short, he predicts the outcome of the entire episode, including when Hornhog Sonic and Vampire Knuckles' fight would lead them both to the front gate where Silver could come out and snatch their powers once they were vulnerable.]]
* BattleRapping: One occurs between Knuckles and Pikachu in ''Shopping Mall''. It goes as well as you'd expect.
* BerserkButton:
** Don't ever say you used Tails' tacos to summon a giant monster, or say you're hungry for one yourself. Amy, Charmy, and [[VideoGame/MegaManClassic Mega Man]] found this out the hard way.
** Don't let Blaze find out you [[spoiler:used one of her clones to have sex with them, or she'll kick you off her ship]].
* BigDamnHeroes: After several videos of meaningless but hilarious cameos, WesternAnimation/{{Shrek}} comes to Knuckles' rescue in ''Finale'', and Knuckles even acknowledges his presence!
* BoobBasedGag: To become Super Sonic in ''Origins'', Sonic grabs and forcefully rubs [[MsFanservice Rouge's]] boobs.
--> '''Sonic''': [[BreakingTheFourthWall This is gonna make one great preview image!]]
* TheCameo: Team Chaotix and, oddly enough, [[VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys2 Toy Freddy]] cameo in the strip club seen in ''Forces'', but they do not do anything in the plot.
* CameraAbuse: In Gmod, the camera works very much like a tripod. Cue the numerous moments when someone decides to touch it and the camera topples over, sometimes sending it into a spinning frenzy or launching it across the room.
* CanonImmigrant: Scourge in an odd sort of way. He originates from ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogArchieComics but had a custom model made for VideoGame/GarrysMod and would thus see use in ''Finale''.
* CharacterDeath: In a zombie apocalypse, there's gonna be a lotta death.
** In ''Origins'', [[spoiler:Cream]] is bitten by a zombie while pouring champagne for the others. [[spoiler:She]] ends up biting [[spoiler:Knuckles]] while zombified, who later turns into a [[MonsterOfTheWeek huge red zombie creature]]. [[spoiler:Wreck-It Ralph also dies.]]
** In ''Apocalypse 3'', [[spoiler:everyone in the main cast (Sonic, Tails, Amy, Rouge, and Shadow)]] is assumed to have died during the zombie raid. Subverted when we find out [[spoiler:Rouge survived and "fixed everyone," in the words of Billy]].
** In ''Thing 2'', [[spoiler:Dr. Eggman and Shadow]] were thrown off a roof, and were assumed to have died. [[spoiler:Godzilla, the zombie lord, also dies.]]
** ''Diaries'' has the deaths of [[spoiler:Sonic and Rouge's baby son, Classic Sonic, along with Mario and Spider-Man (all killed by Satan). Silver was thrown off into the woods by Satan, presumably to his death, then Tails kills Satan.]]
** ''Vengeance'' has the [[spoiler:''real'' deaths of Eggman and Silver. Knuckles also returns.]]
** In ''Space'', [[spoiler:numerous clones of the main cast]] are killed by Rouge, Shadow, and [[spoiler:Knuckles, who ended up surviving the ordeal in ''Origins''.]] At the end, when the group is leaving the space station [[spoiler:after getting kicked out by Blaze]], Shadow realizes he's left his bomb on the station. It explodes, killing [[spoiler:Blaze and any other clones that may have survived.]]
** In ''Doom Ship'', new characters [[spoiler:Vector, Espio, and Charmy all end up dying.]]
** In ''Shopping Mall'', [[spoiler:Silver's crew members, Pikachu, Mega Man, Bowser, and the Dolphin all die.]] [[spoiler:Finally, the clone of Dr. Eggman that survived the space station crash and ended up joining Sonic's team in ''Doom Ship'' also dies after breaking his back.]]
** In ''Finale'', [[spoiler:Tails and Cream's son, Pablo, dies after their hot air balloon crashes.]] [[spoiler: Silver returns ''once again'' but is finally killed.]] [[spoiler:Numerous recolors at the carnival are killed, and their leader, Scourge, is also killed.]] [[spoiler:Finally, Rouge is killed during the confrontation with Scourge atop the roller coaster.]]
*** [[spoiler:All of these deaths are ultimately subverted since the whole series was [[AllJustADream all just a dream]], and therefore, none of these deaths ever even happened.]]
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Sonic changes his "gimmick." In the second and third videos publish-wise, his shtick is that he speaks in monotone, acts like a CloudCuckoolander, and is a walking advertisement for things like Pizza Hut. Then ''Origins'' adds atittude and gives him his "douchebag" part, something that has stuck with him since.
* ChekhovsGun: ''Doom Ship'' has a few: [[spoiler:The anchor Eggman drops down (serves as how the zombies get there), Vector's diarrhea-inducing Sweedish meatballs (later used on the MonsterOfTheWeek), and the dolphin that makes an occasional appearance (gives Knuckles a ride to the crew)]].
* CompanionCube: Tails' tacos.
* CrappyCarnival: [[VideoGame/Left4Dead Whispering Oaks]] in ''Finale'' is not only a run-down, abandoned carnival with rides rotting and falling apart, but its run by the maniacal Scourge and his army of recolours.
* DemotedToExtra: The zombies go from the main source of conflict, to only appearing to remind the audience that, yes, this ''is'' Sonic Zombie for a reason.
* DespairEventHorizon: Vector experiences this once [[spoiler:his ship begins to sink, so he allows himself to [[BetterToDieThanBeKilled go down with the ship]]]].
* DevouredByTheHorde: A couple of examples:
** Ultimately subverted in ''Apocalypse 3''; while [[spoiler:Tails, Amy, and Shadow]] ''are'' devoured during the zombie raid, somehow [[spoiler:Rouge manages to survive and nurse them all back to health, including Sonic, who was bitten by a zombified Shadow.]]
** In ''Doom Ship'', this is how [[spoiler:Charmy]] dies.
* DisproportionateRetribution:
** In the one time someone (Charmy) got dangerously close to taking a bite out of one of Tails' tacos, Tails grabs him by the head and [[{{Squick}} lets out an extreme flow of diarrhea on him]], which knocks Charmy out of the room unconscious and completely blackened.
** Rouge and the others don't think much of Scourge and his gang of recolors in ''Finale'' and decide to leave. Naturally, Scourge orders his horde to kill the gang.
* DisneyVillainDeath: [[spoiler:Both Shadow and Eggman die in ''Thing'' this way. The former returns in ''Diaries'' and the later in ''Vengeance''.]]
* DoomedByCanon: [[spoiler:Subverted. Cream and Knuckles are absent in ''Apocalypse 3'', suggesting that they would have died in ''Origins'', although as of ''Finale'', while the two did seemingly die, ''Apocalypse 3'' appears to be non-canon...for the most part. And while Cream dies, she's eventually brought back into the cast by virtue of the clones from ''In Space'' (where she's retconned into Eggman's daughter and doesn't become heroic until Eggman is forced to join Sonic and his crew in ''Doom Ship''), while Knuckles is revealed to have not died, but turned into a vampire, which he lost anyway when Silver took his powers]].
* DoomyDoomsOfDoom: The seventh episode is called "''Sonic Zombie Doom Ship TheMovie''"
* DreamWithinADream: [[spoiler:''Forces'' ends with regular, Source Film Maker-Sonic waking up after a series of nightmares.]]
* DrivesLikeCrazy: In ''Origins'', Sonic can barely drive his Hummer without accidentally driving on the edges of the road or crashing into a light post.
* DullSurprise:
--> '''Sonic''': (in ''Origins'') Look out behind you.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: ''Apocalyse 3''.
** The narrator's voice is lower and less enthusiastic.
** The effects are ''much'' worse. The streams used to make their heads move are actually visible this time.
** The ending [[spoiler:is far more closed in than following videos, and a bit of a downer at that. Shadow is bitten by zombies, they break in and take down Amy, Rouge, and Tails, and Sonic runs into a base just to get bit by a zombie Shadow]]. There is no SequelHook like the following videos, probably because they weren't originally planned.
** The video is far shorter than the rest. This barely totals over four minutes. Everything after has no less than thirteen, aside from the bonus ''Forces''.
** Amy and Rouge only show the slightest hint at the personalities they will later get, and Tails doesn't at all. (He doesn't even speak.) Sonic's character seems to be a blend of his pre-''Origins'' and ''Origins''-onwards selves. Shadow is the only one that remains the same throughout the whole series.
** The zombies actually ''are'' the main and only conflict force this time. This also lacks the MonsterOfTheWeek that eventually shows up in the later installments.
* EnemyMine: [[spoiler:To save his own life, Eggman is forced into joining the heroes during the zombie attack in ''Doom Ship''. He remains loyal to Sonic's team in ''Shopping Mall'', indicating that he underwent a full HeelFaceTurn. He returns in ''Finale'', inviting Sonic to end the zombie nightmare before it even begins.]]
* EpicFail: Due to the StylisticSuck nature of the videos, these are all over the place. One recurring example is characters' ragdolls stalling and/or flopping around in place while being moved, often to the frustration of the narrator.
* EvilTwin: A plot point in ''Space''.
* EveryEpisodeEnding: Most episodes end with the currently-alive cast escaping in aircraft. Helicopters are the most common.
--> '''Knuckles''': Wow, man that's kinda lucky, how often do you really think anyone would find a helicopter?
--> '''Amy''': Well actually we find one at like, the end of all these videos.
* EverythingsDeaderWithZombies
* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: Guess where ''Space'', ''Doom Ship'', and ''Shopping Mall'' take place. And yes, every installment in the series except ''Forces'' has zombies, although they are rarely the central opposing force.
* ExcusePlot: There's often ''very'' little justification behind any given plot, as it's obviously done for the fun factor of the videos. ''Space'' takes the cake, with the characters getting their space ship just because Rouge asked the maker for one.
* ExpressDelivery: Rouge has one with [[spoiler:Classic/Baby Sonic]].
* FurAgainstFang: [[spoiler: Knuckles (who is revolved to have become a vampire after surviving the events of ''Origins'') and Sonic the "[[VideoGame/SonicUnleashed Hornhog]]" fight each other in ''Vengeance'' for a brief time.]]
* GainaxEnding: ''Origins'', ''Vengeance'', and ''In Space'' ends with gags about the narrator being cut off by his relatives, then has sounds of what's going on outside. ''Doom Ship'' is even odder, with [[spoiler:a pop-up window taking over the entire screen]]. ''Shopping Mall'' seems to finally end this.
* TheGhost: Sonic mentions having a girlfriend who has a daughter in ''Diaries 3'', and he took the latter to {{Ride/Disneyland}}.
* GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere: Many of the monsters the heroes meet appear with little to no backstory, and are there [[MonsterOfTheWeek just to give the heroes something to fight]].
* GoForTheEye: When [[spoiler:Monster Silver suddenly appears on Blaze's starship, Sonic promptly throws a [[LaserBlade lightsaber]] into his eye]].
-->'''Sonic:''' May the hooba be with you.
* GoingDownWithTheShip: [[spoiler:Vector in ''Doom Ship'']].
* {{Hammerspace}}: [[spoiler:Somehow Tails was able to fit a giant boat inside Rouge's ass.]]
* HilariousOuttakes: It is implied that every scene across the series is done in one take, and with no script, leaving anything in that would be considered an Outtake by normal standards.
* HollywoodToneDeaf: ''Origins'' gives us this:
--> '''Sonic''': Douching through the snow, driving my Hummer, which I don't really need, cause I'm only a single guy!
** Knuckles' songs in ''Doom Ship'' and ''Shopping Mall'', especially the former.
* HypocriticalHumor: ''Shopping Mall'' gives us an exchange where Sonic tries to get it on with Rouge after the rest of the team sets off to stop the villains, where he's pushed away and lands on the ground. He then exclaims "I feel bad when I do that to Amy", followed by Amy randomly showing up to cuddle with Sonic, where Sonic throws her aside as well.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: [[spoiler:Rouge in ''Finale'', courtesy of Scourge.]]
* ImperiledInPregnancy: [[spoiler:Rouge goes into labor when the zombies attack the gang in ''Diaries 3''.]]
* InterspeciesRomance:
** Sonic and Rouge both have sex out in the woods in ''Diaries'', [[spoiler:which results in Baby Sonic]].
** Tails attempts to get it on with Blaze in ''Space''. Also, between the nine month gap from ''Shopping Mall'' and ''Finale'', he and Cream had a baby named Pablo.
* {{Jiggle Physics}} / {{Ragdoll Physics}}: All over the place. Literally every character is dragged around by their head, leaving their other parts to swing around.
* KillTheCutie: [[spoiler: Baby Sonic, Charmy and Cream are killed off only moments after being introduced.]]
* LikeFatherLikeSon: Sonic and [[VideoGame/SonicGenerations Baby Sonic]].
* LukeIAmYourFather: Parodied in ''Space'' with Robotnik and Sonic.
-->'''Robotnik:''' They never told you what happened to heccch!
-->'''Sonic:''' They told me enough. They told me hooba dooba!
-->'''Robotnik:''' No! I am the heccch!
-->'''Sonic:''' No.
%%* MadeOfIron: Constantly.
* MaleGaze: Every time [[MsFanservice Rouge the Bat]] is in focus, the camera will almost always zoom into her breasts, often with sexual remarks from the narrator.
* MayTheFarceBeWithYou: ''Space'' is a very obvious parody of ''Franchise/StarWars'', with Blaze's starship being the Death Star and Sonic battling [[spoiler:a clone of Dr. Eggman]] with a [[LaserBlade Lightsaber]].
* MediumBlending: A given when the anthro animals of ''Sonic'' are mixed with the realistic headcrab zombies of ''Half-Life''. And that's just scratching the surface.
* TheMole: [[spoiler:Robotnik in ''Zombie Thing'' and Silver in ''Zombie Diaries''.]]
* MonsterOfTheWeek: Every entry in the series (except the first-created one) has at least one. [[spoiler:Franchise/{{Godzilla}} with [[VideoGame/Left4Dead the Tank]], {{Satan}}, [[Film/{{Alien}} Zombie]] [[VideoGame/MonsterHunter Knuckles]], [[VideoGame/SonicUnleashed Hornhog Sonic]] with [[OneWingedAngel Monster Silver]], a sea monster, Monster [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Bowser]] and the giant carnival sewer worm.]]
* NationalStereotypes:
** Sonic now being a classically American selfish, egotistical jerk who owns a gas-guzzling Hummer, smokes even though he has passengers in the car and works at both Pizza Hut and Starbucks.
** The easiest and probably most offensive is Tails' Mexican heritage, his love for tacos which goes to the point of familial love and his psychopathic rage towards anyone trying to steal one.
** Vector being Swedish, eating horrible meatballs that induce diarrhea and being captain of a ship named "SS Ikea".
** ''Shopping Mall'' lampshades this (even more-so than the series's norm) with the introduction of Pikachu, who is another "black" character. Knuckles doesn't like this, and insists that he should be the only black stereotype in ''Sonic Zombie''.
** ''Finale'' has [[ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogArchieComics Scourge]] as a violent, cruel, sadistic Australian obsessed with Outback Steakhouse and having Rouge as his "Sheila"[=/=]sex slave.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero:
** In yet another attempt to "do'' Sonic, Amy instead decides to [[spoiler:have sex with one of the many Sonic clones on Blaze's starship, accidentally releasing everyone else's clones, including Dr. Eggman's]].
** ''Shopping Mall'' has the doors that get sealed off by the heroes in the beginning to block out the zombies [[spoiler:getting destroyed by TheRival BadassBiker gang when they barge into the mall the same reason Sonic and his friends took shelter there]].
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: [[spoiler:Sort of. If Satan didn't go and announce he used the power of Tails' tacos, he wouldn't be beaten to death by a young mexican fox who suddenly went insane.]]
* NoFourthWall: Characters regularly break the fourth wall all the time, especially Sonic.
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: Shrek and Cream are the only characters whose facial features are stretched out far more than normal. Bowser and Vector are the only ones who actually move their mouths to talk, presumably because it's easier for them.
* OhCrap:
** Cream when she meets a zombie face-first.
** Rouge when she sees Cream being attacked.
** Tails discovering his Tacos have vanished.
** Sonic when [[spoiler: Rouge reveals she got pregnant]].
*** And then Amy when she finds out.
** Tails' reaction to the initial zombie attack in ''Vengeance''.
* OncePerEpisode:
** The team's escape by aircraft at the end.
** Shadow going out to hold the zombies off with a shotgun, which gets [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] in ''Shopping Mall''.
* OneWingedAngel: [[spoiler:Knuckles in ''Origins'', Silver in ''Vengeance'', and Bowser in ''Shopping Mall''.]]
* OurSloganIsTerrible: Sonic in this series is an employee at Pizza Hut, and throughout ''Thing'', he makes up many poor slogans.
* OverlyLongName: Given by the narrator via some [[SirSwearsALot colorful dialogue]] to Eggman in ''Vengeance'':
--> [=Dr. RoFatassf***ingFatFattyFatf***ingf***ingFatSonOfAB***F***ingFattyFat…=] Yeah, he’s pretty much [[DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment fat]].
* PaletteSwap: Scourge has an entire army of them! Oh and he's kinda one as well.
* PerpetualPoverty: In effect starting from ''Vengeance''; the team repeatedly mentions not eating for days, but no one has shown signs of starving or being physically weaker from the lack of food. For instance, even on an empty stomach, Knuckles is still able to defeat a gang of zombies without receiving any type of body damage or bites.
* PissTakeRap: The rap battle between Knuckles and Pikachu. What Knuckles sings does not rhyme or even really match with the beat, and Pikachu [[spoiler:is knocked out before he can give his verse]].
* PottyEmergency: Sonic and Shadow in ''Doom Ship'' once the Swedish meatballs Vector fed them earlier kick in. They find Rouge waiting outside while Amy uses the restroom, and Tails "walks" in later needing to go too.
* PottyFailure: Tails is so upset when he finds [[BerserkButton Charmy Bee trying to eat one of his tacos]] that through his tantrum, he unleashes crap everywhere.
* PowerIncontinence: Sort of. [[spoiler:Sonic's "[[VideoGame/SonicUnleashed Hornhog]]" form in ''Vengeance'' causes him to become hostile and having a thing for [[SerialRapist raping his victims]] to death. He can still speak and even questions what happened to him, though the main characters remain scared to approach Sonic in Hornhog form.]]
* RedShirt: [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Mario]], ComicBook/SpiderMan, and [[WesternAnimation/WreckItRalph Ralph]] are brought on-screen for only a few seconds before they are axed off by the current MonsterOfTheWeek.
* RedSkyTakeWarning: What signals the appearances of [[spoiler:Franchise/{{Godzilla}} in ''Thing'' and the zombies as a whole in ''Diaries'']].
* RoboticReveal: Inverted in ''Shopping Mall'', where Sonic finds that Metal Sonic ''isn't'' a robot when he sees him taking a piss.
%%* {{Satan}}: the BigBad of ''Diaries''.
* SealedEvilInACan: Thanks to the logic that [[spoiler:any of Blaze's clones that has a living counterpart on Earth that dies in some way inherits the memories of their deceased counterpart, the clone of Dr. Eggman accidentally released by Amy is just as dangerous as the real one Sonic killed an episode prior.]]
* SequelEscalation: It isn't clear if this is intentional or not, but each video (going by when they came out) was longer than the last until ''Shopping Mall''. Probably not, since ''Diaries 3'' is only two seconds longer than ''Thing 2''.
* SerialRapist: [[spoiler:[[VideoGame/SonicUnleashed Hornhog Sonic]]]]. The only one that sees this as a good thing is [[spoiler:Amy, since she is constantly trying to get near Sonic]].
* SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong: ''Finale'', and ultimately the series as a whole, ends with this: [[spoiler: Robotnik shows up out of nowhere with a [[Franchise/BackToTheFuture Delorean]], having discovered the cause of the zombie outbreak. He invites Sonic to go back in time with him to end it. As was shown at the end of ''Origins'', it was all Big the Cat's fault due to him scratching his rather rancid nethers and letting the...residue get in some fast food burgers. To change the future, Sonic and Robotnik have to kill Big. Sonic is reluctant...but the decision's taken out of his hands as his own past self, Hummer and VideoGame/SonicUnleashed model and all, runs over Big, leading to him dying in a flaming wreck and ending the zombie nightmare before it ever begins. The result is that the Christmas part in ''Origins'' goes swell with no zombies, and even the Chaotix trio showing up on behalf of Ikea, supplying Rouge with a new bed. Everything is okay...well except for Rouge really being a monster who wants to eat Sonic's soul. That and it was AllJustADream anyway.]]
* SinkingShipScenario: The second half of ''Doom Ship''.
* SkywardScream: In ''Diaries'', Tails gives out a loud, screeching scream into the air after his [[CompanionCube tacos]] disappear the morning after camping out in the night. Later in the episode, Sonic lets out a scream of his own when [[spoiler:his newborn baby is killed in cold blood]]
* SorryImGay: Early in ''Origins'', Amy asks Sonic if he could "comfort her", followed by Sonic answering with this trope.
* {{Spexico}}: Tails' characterization from ''Diaries'' onwards.
* SpoilerOpening:
** The preview images for both ''Origins'' and ''Vengeance'' reveal several key plot elements. ''Origins''' reveals that [[spoiler:Knuckles will become zombified and Sonic will have to power up using Rouge's boobs]], ''Vengeance'' spoils [[spoiler:Sonic becoming a "Hornhog" and the return of both Knuckles and Silver after they were killed off in prior episodes]].
** ''Doom Ship The Movie'' spoils that [[spoiler:Eggman will join the heroes, Knuckles and Espio will romance, a sea monster will attack the ship and Tails will pull something out of Rouge's ass to escape.]]
** Sonic even [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] the spoiler-tier thumbnails in both ''Origins'' and ''Vengeance''.
* StoppedNumberingSequels: ''Vengeance'' onwards (''Origins'' could be excused by being a prequel) just sticks with a title vaguely related to the video in question, especially the location it's centered on. Considering the first video is numbered 3, this might have been a good thing, avoiding MindScrew[=s=].
* SwallowedWhole:
** In ''Vengeance'', [[spoiler:Monster Silver kills Shadow this way before becoming [[ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice impaled]] on some poles when Sonic feeds him explosive "grenade-flavored" pizza. As ''Space'' shows, Shadow died inside Silver]].
** ''Doom Ship'' shows Sonic and Tails [[spoiler:being swallowed by the giant sea monster that attacks Vector's ship, leading to the two depositing two of Vector's laxative "meatballs" in the stomach and causing the monster's back to suddenly [[ToiletHumor erupt with feces]], expelling Sonic and Tails in the process]].
** ''Finale'' has [[spoiler: Scourge eaten by the giant worm...[[AvertedTrope only to promptly escape]] by slicing its stomach open a few minutes later.]]]]
* TakeThat:
** In the first episode released, Sonic's voice was meant to be a TakeThat towards the then-current voice actor for Sonic, Jason Griffith. It later changed to a Creator/RogerCraigSmith TakeThat after Sega switched official voice actors.
** ''Doom Ship'' shows Tails' hatred towards Taco Bell.
--> '''Tails''': Oh this would've never happened if we just had tacos!
-->'''Sonic''': Heh. What are you f***ing kidding me? Have you ever had Taco Bell before?
--> '''Tails''': Taco Bell does not serve tacos, they serve... dog food!
** Website/DeviantART receives quite the number of Take Thats in the later episodes, such as in ''Shopping Mall'' where Knuckles compares an attacking bear to "the furries kind of like the people on [=DeviantArt=]."
** ''Finale'' begins with a fake opening for "Sonic Zombie VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys", including an establishing shot of Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria...only for Sonic to appear, claiming that the gang isn't "THAT desperate for views yet."
** [[ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogArchieComics Scourge]] having an army of recolours is not only a TakeThat to lazy fan characters but to Scourge himself, who Steve has a low opinion of.
*** The recolours themselves are also [[TakeThat Take Thats]] to "dudebros" who only play ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' and ''VideoGame/CallOfDuty'', unironic Website/{{Tumblr}} [[StrawFeminist straw feminists]] and "social justice warriors."
** At the end, Sonic [[spoiler: of the past]] states that he was "interrupted while drinking his Starbucks and texting on the phone" and "Let me get back to driving without using my turn signal and browsing Facebook because that's clearly more important than other people's lives."
** In ''Forces'', Eggman's ultimate plan to destroy Sonic is to [[spoiler:make an In-Name Only, really bad ''Sonic Adventure 3'' in reference to game series that shove out poor-quality sequels to make a quick buck. There will be a Chao Garden... except it has microtransactions! Cue CatapultNightmare from Sonic.]]
* TakeThatAudience:
** Near the end of ''Vengeance'', Sonic makes a quick stab at viewers who take the series seriously and don't see it as a StylisticSuck series. Another such stunt would appear in ''Space''.
** ''Finale'' has one from both Sonic and (not entirely subtly) Steve to fans who only care about the "Sonic Zombie" videos and are now likely to unsubscribe now that the series is over.
* TheTeam:
** Sonic: [[TheLeader The Leader]]
** Rouge: [[TheLancer The Lancer]]
** Knuckles/Shadow: [[TheBigGuy The Big Guys]]
** Tails: [[TheSmartGuy The Smart Guy]]
** Amy/Cream: [[TheHeart The Hearts]]
** [[spoiler: Dr. Eggman]]: [[TokenEvilTeammate Token Evil Teammate]]
* ToiletHumor:
** The entire main cast sans Knuckles in ''Doom Ship'' all rush and argue over the restroom on Vector's ship after experiencing harsh diarrhea from the odd-looking meatballs they ate earlier. Things don't get much better when Tails catches Charmy about to munch one of his tacos.
** The MonsterOfTheWeek gets this too when [[spoiler:Sonic inserts spare "meatballs" into it's stomach, which causes the sea monster to experience a rather harsh case of diarrhea]].
** ''Shopping Mall'' has Sonic walking in on Metal Sonic taking a wizz and realizing that robots cannot do that, as well as Eggman having to rush off to the bathroom near the end.
%%* TrillingRs: Done by the now Russian Robotnik, especially from ''Space'' onwards.
%%* UnlikelyHero: [[spoiler:In ''Diaries'', it is ultimately Tails that defeats Satan.]]
* TheUnintelligible: The ''Super Mario World'' Dolphin, whose dialogue is not only hard to hear, but he doesn't speak in full sentences and usually just says [[VerbalTic "MIMIMIMIMIMIMIMI."]]
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Big the Cat, who's poor hygiene kicks off the entire ZombieApocalypse.
* VerbalTic: Sonic's "Hooba Dooba" phrases, especially in ''Vengeance''.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: For a series based around zombies, the only scene to contain any form of zombie attack in ''Space'' is the opening attack in the deserted city's sewers.
* WhoWritesThisCrap: Just about anybody will lampshade how weird or repetitive the episodes are. Inverted in Sonic's hornhog transformation in ''Vengence'' where it's done in a high-quality scene before Eggman asks who decided to give the video a budget. In other words, complaining that the animation is too ''good''. Hornhog-Sonic suddenly turns into the same ''Garry's Mod'' effects as everyone else.
