Oedipus Complex is a disambiguation

Syndication rules ensured that ''{{Anime/Voltron}}'' , unlike the original ''{{Anime/Golion}}'' was unable to fully translate Sincline's (Lotor's) stalkerish tendencies or his reasoning for doing so (His OedipusComplex and desire to essentially rape Fala). However, here his tendencies will be out in full force, not only to cement why the audience shouldn't like him, but also to parody some of the more poorly written romances in past shows they worked on.

[[WMG: Voltron is the far future of the Avatar: the Last Airbender Universe]]
Why not, as they were made by some of the same people. Voltron is just set far far in the future, when "Bending" and all the spiritual elements of Avatar have been forgotten or have evolved into more scientific terms. Bending still exists, such as in the "Alchemy" of Altea or the technology manipulations of the Olkari, but are now seen as purely sci-fi abilities, and spirit energy has come to be known as "Quintessence", and the rift between dimensions is actually the spirit realm. The main characters may also be the very very distant descendants of the Gaang and Team Avatar from The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra.

[[WMG: Voltron is the Avatar of the present day, and Zarkon and Honerva were corrupted by Vaatu]]
At some point after the death of Avatar Korra, the avatar cycle ends and the spirit of Raava becomes trapped in the trans-dimensional comet which eventually crashes on Daibazaal, with the impact being so powerful it tears a rift open through the spirit realm and into the multiverse. The Altaians and the Galra advance their own societies through harvesting Quintessence, actually spirit realm energy, and create Voltron from the ore of the comet, essentially trapping Raava within the five lions, making Voltron into the new Avatar. The powers of the avatar are split between the five lions; Red is Fire, Blue is Water, Green is Earth, Yellow is Air, and Black is Spirit, and the combined Voltron wields the same destructive power as the Avatar State. Meanwhile, the hostile entities which emerge from the rift are actually dark spirits, and eventually both Zarkon and Honverva are corrupted by Vaatu, who rises again to oppose Raava in her new form as Voltron.

Kill Em All was renamed Everybody Dies Ending due to misuse. Dewicking

Lotor expressed in 'White Lion' that the destruction of that first mining colony was what prompted him to study his Altean heritage, which lead him to finding the surviving Alteans. With that experience behind him, Lotor would know that if Zarkon ever found out that there were more Alteans still alive, he would [[KillEmAll wipe them out]]. So when Haggar finds the Colony, they cut a deal. He gives her the Colony's magically inclined Alteans, and in return, she keeps its existence a secret from Zarkon.

Lotor may be {{Transgender}}, or perhaps they [[BizarreAlienBiology and, by extension, possibly all Galra]] are {{Hermaphrodite}}s. Or maybe [[SheIsTheKing she simply has the title "Prince"]] for some convoluted court etiquette reason and/or was RaisedAsTheOppositeGender like Oscar in ''Manga/TheRoseOfVersailles''. Perhaps running away to Earth and having a child was an act of rebellion against Zarkon for forcing her to live a lie for political reasons.

The whole point of her alias was to find her family, and after its purpose is fulfilled, she contemplates turning back into Katie Holt. It also serves as an allegory for the uncomfortableness of growing up, unless puberty actually is a factor in a GettingCrapPastTheRadar way.
