An alternative explaination is that ''Inside Out'' broke the regular way of how Creator/{{Pixar}} names its films in Chinese. It used ''头脑特工队''("The Brain Team") instead of ''XX总动员''("General Mobilization of Whatever") Pixar usually used. So some audiences might considered it as a [[TheMockbuster bootlegged film]] who tried to be a Pixar film. But you can see Chinese audiences have been used to it since Pixar's later films with non-typical titles won better box office.\\

My theroy?
Surprise is built into the console and makes the person react in a surpised way until the appropriate emotion takes over. Notice in the end credits when Jordan see's Riley. An "girl" alarm goes off in his head, yet non of his emotions are at the console (Fear is notably in the corner crying) yet Jordan is still in shock. His consol made him feel surprise, but his emotions didn't take over, so he stayed surpised.
Basically. All six of Ekmans emotions are there. But only five of them are characters and the sixth is the consols default emotion.
** This makes sense in a certain way-- one of the primary functions of the console is to show emotions ''new things''.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have Sadness, who represents a creative mind who wishes to challenge audiences with more emotion than just blind amusement. Sadness wants Riley (and therefore, the audience) to watch these movies and go through multiple emotions. At the end, Sadness has inspired Joy and the other emotions to work together to make Riley's life more meaningful. And that's what this movie does. It presents itself as a silly comedy about little people in your head, but then it makes you feel all the emotions you see onscreen - sometimes more than one at a time. Which is really what Pixar does best.
