* DID/OSDD-1: Multiple Headquarters for emotions, one HQ for each alter (if it's not a fragment), complete with each alters own Personality Islands. Depending on the amount of dissociation between alters, these HQs and their respective Personality Islands might have trouble communicating and sharing memories (assuming they're not walled off entirely). Fragments would probably only have one or a few emotions running the HQ, and only front and work when they're needed for a specific situation.

[[WMG: Bing Bong is actually based on Riley's memory of the ''[[WesternAnimation/MonstersInc1 Monsters Inc.]]'' monster that would come out of her closet]]
At the end of ''Monsters Inc.'', the company switches from screams to laughter as a source of power. Over time, this presumably resulted in a more benign relationship between monsters and children, perhaps even to the point that some children started to form friendships with their monsters. They were seen less as "monsters" and more as "imaginary friends". Bing Bong certainly looks like the sort of creature who might have come from the Monster World, and Riley probably has fond memories of him thanks to all the times he would make her laugh. Because he never told her his real name-- and because she was so young at the time-- she called him "Bing Bong", and continued to imagine a fantasy version of him even after he stopped visiting her. It's this version that existed inside her mind up until the events of the movie.

* Well, there's now an Inside Out-themed ride at Pixar Pier in California, but the old Wonders of Life area is being reworked into something else.

* If the reality filter is turned off, then it seems like the emotions should be able to communicate with Riley one-way through a dream.

A trans boy will have male emotions, and a trans girl will have female emotions. Disgust and Fear are the most affected by gender dysphoria and are triggered to action if a trans person's parents (or whoever) try to force them to dress as and act more like their birth gender. Imagine a trans boy's parents trying to make him wear a dress, and his Joy trying to pretend to be happy, only for Disgust and Fear to take over the console when he isn't looking.

[[WMG: The new emotions from Inside Out 2 have always existed, they're just physically manifesting for the first time]]
Anxiety, Embarrassment, Envy, and Ennui have all been experienced by Riley before as a combination of the main five emotions' influence. Especially embarrassment since she explicitly says her mom is embarrassing her in ''Riley's First Date''. The twist of ''Inside Out 2'' could even be that the main 5 emotions are influencing the new 4, and that their greater cooperation following the first movie's ending is what made the new ones appear.

[[WMG: The new emotions will each serve as a {{Foil}} to each of the old emotions]]
Anxiety - Fear: Fear wants to protect Riley from an actual threat, while Anxiety wants Riley to worry about a threat that has not yet, or may never, happen.

Envy - Disgust: Disgust dislikes things and wants to keep Riley away from them, while Envy dislikes ''people'' and wants Riley to always think about them all the time compared to her.

Ennui - Anger: They both contrast each other heavily with one who has no emotion to anything, while another has an overreaction to things.

Embarrassment - Sadness: Sadness wants Riley to feel bad about things outside of herself, while Embarassment wants Riley to feel bad ''about herself''.

[[WMG: The sequel will also have NoAntagonist like the original]]

[[WMG: There will be an explanation as to why the new emotions don't appear in the parent's head]]

The mixed gender of Riley's emotions represents not her gender identity, but rather the lack thereof: she is not yet sexually mature and thus has not yet realized psychologically as a woman, which is why some of her emotions are male. Once she's [[DangerousSixteenthBirthday 16]], her emotions will all be female.

* Possibly the new one will be "Crush". Why Crush and not Love, Desire, etc? Because Riley's Mom and Dad are clearly still very much in love with each other. Yet we only see the basic five emotions in their respective headquarters, ''all'' of which seem to share in the love their humans feel; even when they share a romantic glance in the first film's epilogue, no distinct embodiment of Love appears for either. Therefore, Riley's new emotion will be one that's only a temporary phase, i.e. a crush.
