I'll probably end up being wrong on most accounts, but work with me here. Zangetsu's [[spoiler:appearance as that of a younger Yhwach might be symbolic of whatever good in his heart the Vandenreich Emperor cast away, manifesting as an EnemyWithout(?) that ended up resonating with Ichigo's Quincy powers, thus taking on the form we all know]]. After all, both that scene with [[spoiler:Tensa Zangetsu (who was made up of both "Old Man" Zangetsu and Ichigo's Hollow at the time) crying BerserkerTears and revealing that it was Ichigo he wanted to protect]] and his words in 541 to Ichigo were genuinely sentimental.

*** And then proceeds to [[AllYourPowersCombined combine them together along with his Hollow powers]] to create an upgrade strong enough to defeat Yuha Bach. Don't look at me like it couldn't happen.

Because otherwise, it makes no sense for him to have used a Quincy power once, only to never use them again.

That mark on her leg was never explained. However, Orihime used to have a similar mark, left by a Hollow, and if the same is true for Ryuken's mother, then Yhwach may have deemed her impure (tainted by a Hollow, just like Masaki) and stolen her powers.

according to Nimaiya the spirit we have been Calling Zangetsu is actually a manifestation of Ichigo's Quincy powers. the Inner Hollow is the real Zangetsu. I postulate that when Rukia gave her powers to Ichigo she partially awakened his Quincy powers. when this happened Ichigo subconsciously conjured a spirit weapon in the shape of a sword. the reason "Zangetsu" Purifies instead of destroying is that Rukia's reiatsu gave it the properties of a Zanpakuto despite not being one, which is also why Ichigo can channel his Shikai and Bankai through him. the reason that he can only use Getsuga and not any other abilities is because Getsuga is the closest thing to a Quincies natural abilities, and is their for the only ability he can borrow from the real Zangetsu.

* Isshin has Getsuga Tensho, too, though. Also, if this was the case Ichigo's Getsuga Tensho would probably destroy souls and while we have no prove that that's not the case, if it WOULD destroy Souls I'd assume the Gotei 13 wouldn't let him destroy Souls left and right. (And, yeah, given what we know of the twelfth division, they would know.) It's not good for the balance, after all.

The getsuga tensho of his shikai is a massive blast of blue energy. Basic quincy arrows are shots of blue energy. The main ability of Zangetsu is to let Ichigo fire massive quincy arrows.

[[WMG: Isshin is a Shiba.]]
Specifically, he's Ganju, Kuukaku, and Kaien's eldest brother, and the one who disgraced the family, which he did by running off with a human woman. He has Shiba hair, his daughter Karin has Shiba hair, and Kaien, of course, looks exactly like Ichigo. What if he's his uncle?
* While I'm pretty sure this has been guessed before, it would explain why neither Ganju or Kukkaku never thought Icihgo's resemblance to Kaien was weird. They knew Ishhin ran off with a redhead and chose the fake name Kurosaki.
* Confirmed, as of chapter 529! Isshin was the head of the Shiba family, as well as the Captain of the 10th division! Matsumoto was his Vice Captain and Hitsugaya was the 3rd seat.

[[WMG:Unohana's Bankai could be pure NightmareFuel]].
Her Zanpakuto is said to be second only to Orihime's in healing power. Her offence, according to the databooks, is [[spoiler: 100.]] But if it's a healing zanpakuto with offence of 100... My guess is that it has the power to heal ANY wounds. Not just physical, but anything from [[LaserGuidedAmnesia bad memories]] to [[MindRape All the happy moments in their life]] to any kind of imperfection-including the breaking of a soul chain.
* Or it heals you so hard that it gives you cancer. Nothing like exploding into a lumpy pile of weeping, furry, fanged tumors to take the fight out of someone. And that's just what can happen in some real life cancers; I dunno what would happen when you take into account Ghost Cancer... And a training "accident" with this could also explain why Ukitake is so ill and how come he and Kyoraku are so worried about her temper.
** Maybe they keep Mayuri around because he's the only guy who might be able to survive after being hit by that kind of attack.
* Confirmed. Skin-melting acid vapor that keeps you alive the whole time.

[[WMG:Isshin Kurosaki is not just a former Captain, but a member of the Shiba clan.]]
He has some obvious ties to Soul Society, but we don't know exactly what they are. And his son has a very clear resemblance to a member of that clan, Kaien Shiba, so they could easily be related. Additionally, they have a lot of common personality traits...
* I'm pretty sure this has been {{Jossed}} outright in an interview with Kubo.
* Further guessing! Issin caused the fall from nobility of the clan for eloping with a mortal. (Who would, in turn, be spiritually aware and therefore knew of hollows when protecting kid Ichigo.) Perhaps he even rented a gigai from Urahara or something.
** Makes much more sense than the clan losing its status due to Kaien being possessed by a Hollow and killed; that was always a stupid concept even by Soul Society standards.
* That could also make him the Soul Society King. And that might explain his treatment of Ichigo, if he wants/expects his successor to be strong. (See the next WMG)
* There's still the question of why Rukia, Byakuya and Ukitake noticed Ichigo's resemblance to Kaien but Ganju and Kuukaku didn't...
** Kuukaku probably smokes something illegal to not see the resemblance. Ganju felt something different in Ichigo, though.
** Alternatively, Isshin wouldn't have anything to do with this, and Ichigo is just Kaien's reincarnation. In Bleachverse, this is immensely possible.
*** Ichigo can't be Kaien's reincarnation, since Kaien's soul was absorbed by Aarroniero...iirc, anyway.
**** Well, if Tite Kubo manages to make the reincarnation theory true, it'll be the biggest AssPull we've ever seen. But then, there's Aizen...
**** Actually, there's a really small possibility, almost zero percent: Before Rukia killed Kaien, he regained his consciousness, begging her to do so; it means that his soul wasn't completely devoured, and he was trying to regain control. After that, the half-merged souls (since that bloody hollow didn't devour him completely) went to Rukongai (for being killed by Rukia), and reincarnated as Ichigo (and his unconscious Hollow side, Hichigo). It's a ''really'' small chance for this to happen, but you know, Tite Kubo already worked with such implausibilities before, using small and controlled loopholes he have created for such possibilities. Also, Aaroniero was lying about being Kaien, so, why not lying about it too?
***** Aaroniero was able to replicate Kaien's zanpakuto and its abilities, which pretty well proves he absorbed Kaien. How would he have even known what the shikai looked like, let alone its name and abilities, otherwise? And for that matter how would Aaroniero have known about what happened to Kaien at all? Yes, Aizen was responsible for it, but it's not like it was something he'd have any reason to tell his Arrancar minions about. As for Hichigo, that's just a result of Ichigo becoming a Vizard. All the other Vizards have inner Hollows that they had to overcome too.
* Isshin being a Shiba would also explain why nobody in Soul Society finds the name "Kurosaki" significant. It's well established that ever Captain, past and present, is considered a legend in Soul Society. If there had been a Captain Isshin Kurosaki, somebody would've thought of that when Ichigo Kurosaki appeared from nowhere and started beating up Lieutenants and Captains. So obviously, Isshin adopted his wife's family name rather than the other way around (as I understand it, that's not unheard of in Japan). And since aside from Urahara (who's known to have been in on Isshin's secret all along) nobody who's old enough to have known Isshin when he was a Captain has seen him in the living world, he wouldn't be recognized visually.
* Confirmed! Isshin was a member of the Shiba clan, albeit a branch member rather than the main group.

[[WMG: Isshin is the former 10th squad captain.]]
The identity of the tenth squad captain prior to Hitsugaya was never determined, and he/she was never shown during Turn Back the Pendulum, so it could have easily been Isshin.
* According to Unohana the former 10th squad captain died on the battlefield. It COULD have been an elaborate scheme by him and Urahara, though.
** Or, Isshin became captain of squad 10, after the TBTP arc.
*** Makes even more sense in that Hitsugaya's young age and obvious newness to the position. Say Isshin left Soul Society twenty years ago because he "died" and was replaced by Hitsugaya. He quickly found Masaki and had Ichigo within three years of coming to the living world. Isshin doesn't seem like the type who would wait around for fifty years, assuming he still ages as a Soul Reaper and not a human.
* Confirmed! Isshin was the previous Squad 10 captain; he's the one who gave Rangiku the vice-captaincy (likely because he's a big ol' perv).

During the TBTP arc, Squad's 10 & 11 weren't seen, [[spoiler: Issin]] is a former captain, Squad 11's former captain is already known as that really fat & lazy guy who according to Fillers had a vision of justice. So, Squad 10's previous Captain was [[spoiler: Issin, who is also a Shiba & the one who disgraced them when he left the sole society for a human woman after loosing powers using the same move as that depowered Ichigo]].
* Confirmed! [[spoiler: Isshin]] is the former captain of Squad 10, and also a Shiba, although if he's the one who disgraced them is not stated as of this writing.

Just because it would be rather amusing to see how things would work if - even temporarily - control of the Gotei 13 fell to the next most experienced serving captains. That is, [[TheMedic Unohana]], [[NiceGuy Ukitake]] and [[CombatPragmatist Kyoraku]]. Three under Neutral Good and Beware The Nice Ones in contrast to the old man's Lawful Goodness and harsh effectiveness. At least with Yamamoto you know where you stand; inside the law or against it.

They, as a whole, are the real bad guys. Just like Ginjo, they have currently been reset to their normal, evil selves.

* Confirmed. Ginjo had to be bookmarked, because he couldnt've acted in a sufficiently convincing manner otherwise.

If Ishida and his family slipped through the nets, perhaps there are others in far away locations who also survived. Only they might hold a much bigger grudge against Shinigami. Enough to dabble in dangerous forbidden techniques just so they can return the favour. When Ishida removed his restrictor glove in Soul Society he was able to curb stomp Mayuri and his bankai, think what a large group with that sort of hidden trick could do.
* Confirmed. The villains in the most recent story arc are Quincies. They've acquired far more advanced techniques than what the Ishida family have shown, and their grudge has decimated the Soul Society.

Kubo mentioned Tsukishima was reading a book labeled "The Return of Aion", the same name as the creature summoned by Apachi, Mila-Rose, and Sungsun. Whose to say its not a subtle hint that they will return in the near future?

Kubo has stated that the new villain group won't have many members -- there could have been some survivors from the massacre. Survivors that bear a deep-seated grudge against the Shinigami, and were preparing to start a RoaringRampageOfRevenge against them.

From the pictures we already have: Mayuri speaks to the Central 46 about the disappearance of Hollows, and that "they" must be behind it. The last time this very situation happened, it was the Quincy's doing, and it led to them being wiped out. Moreover, in the teaser picture with the new villains, their outfits look a lot like Ishida's wacky Quincy clothes.

And furthermore, it's a nice and fitting way to give the series a BookEnd.
* To give more credit to this theory in the first chapter of the new arc Mayuri specifically says that "they" remove Hollows from existance itself, something only the Quincy can do. Also the shadowy figure from the chapter looks like he is doing something with a coin, aka the Hollow bait, just before a large number of Hollows suddenly appear. And just to top it all off the name of the new arc is The Thousand Year Blood War.

If a couple of lieutenants, red shirts and seated officers die, along with colossal damage, then that would'be be as impactful. Hell, the Royal Guard didn't even intervene when Aizen took out four captains on his own, without breaking a sweat. I see the Royal Guard intervening ''only'' if a couple of captains die, particularly Yamamoto and Byakuya.

[[WMG: Yamamoto's Bankai will be stolen and he will die]]
ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin. Kubo promised to deliver so much in this arc, including the Royal Guard. Yamamoto ''has'' to [[HopelessBossFight lose his battle with Juha Bach]], because there is no other way to make this arc instill the despair Kubo [[ForegoneConclusion promised to deliver]] if [[WorldsStrongestMan Yamamoto]] lives.

* If his bankai doesn't get stolen, the Old Man has just compared himself to the sun. And what do stars eventually do, but burn out? Yamamoto did have a speech about Soul Reapers putting their lives on the line, and this time ( ignoring that 'fatal' 90-something kido) he'll...lead by example.

[[WMG: Ichigo using [[spoiler:Blut Vene]]...]]
is because [[spoiler: his mother was a Quincy]].While in Quilge Opie's cage, Ichigo somehow discovered [[spoiler: an ability to use Quincy powers]], and he's going to start combining them with his Soul Reaper powers to fight more diversely.
** [[spoiler:Confirmed. His mother was a Quincy. Opie's Jail couldn't contain him anymore because it recognized Ichigo as a Quincy and it's only designed to contain the enemies of Quincies.]]

* Ichigo never had an Asauchi, Zangetsu formed from a part of his soul causing him to produce Zangetsu from within himself once again, while Renji presumably did start with an Asauchi, needing to call out to the external being that is Zabimaru.
** Half confirmed. Renji passed, Ichigo didn't. If he's getting Zangetsu repaired, he's on his own. Later clarified that it just ''couldn't'' be repaired the same way as Zabimaru for just this reason - it was never an Asauchi, so the guy who makes Asauchis can't do anything with it.
*** I just realized something... This makes it so that Ichigo's loss of Zangetsu, back when he used Final Getsuga Tensho--the scene in which Tensa Zangetsu bids Ichigo farewell--a lot more significant than after he got his powers back...

[[WMG: Hollow Ichigo is the Real Zangetsu while the Old Man is Yuha Bach. Tensa Zangetsu is Ulquiorra.]]
After the Old Man removed Ichigo's inner Hollow from his body during Ichigo's battle with Kenpachi he never once called himself by the name Zangetsu. It's possible that the Hollow was controlling the Old Man's body when he Ichigo gained his so called Shinigami powers. It's also possible that not only was the Hollow that possessed Masaki sealed inside Ichigo's body but Yuha Bach too explaining why he called Ichigo his son born in Darkness. Ulquiorra's pre-Arrancar form was stated to be White instead of Black like the Vasto Lordes around him and White is what the Hollow that possessed Masaki was on the inside as well as it's name. It's possible Ulquiorra is half of White while Hollow Ichigo is the other half. When Ulquiorra disintegrated he may have entered the host of his other half and became Tensa Zangetsu replacing Yuha Bach as the other half of Zangestu who had ditched Ichigo's body once Ichigo obtained Bankai(he had manifested in the human world thanks to Urahara's invention so if he's Yuha Bach then why wouldn't he take the chance and ditch Ichigo when he's not looking).
** Confirmed for Zangetsu and Hichigo. Can't say the same for Ulqui, though.

I'm posting this simply because I want to be right for once...
* And you just might be. That scene with her and Ryuuken from 536 was pretty much hammering the reader upside the head with that possibility...
* Confirmed! As if it wasn't obvious enough.

[[WMG: Gin Ichimaru is not dead]]
Here's my view of events:
* Gin is "mortally" wounded by Aizen. He realizes that he can no longer fight in his condition and will lose consciousness soon.
* Ichigo pulls his [[BigDamnHeroes big damn hero moment]]. Gin thinks "Oh, good. Ichigo is here. He can finish the job. I can sleep now."
* Gin blacks out.
After the fight, off screen:
* Gin gets healed. A wound like that, he can survive if they get to him soon enough. They '''will''' get to him soon enough.
* Judgement time: Gin was trying to defeat Aizen, and so can be spared execution. However, he did assist Aizen up until he revealed his true goal. As such, he can't return to captaincy, and instead goes into exile (possibly self-imposed).
* Gin doesn't want Rangiku to follow him, so he leaves without telling her.

And consider: if he was dead, there would be a memento left behind: his corpse (or perhaps less morbid, a grave marker).
** There wasn't anyone around to heal him. Unohana was still in the Fake Karakura, whereas Gin was mauled in the actual town in Soul Society. It's unlikely the Central 46 would let Gin roam free either. There would be no body, as they dissolve into spirit particles (see: Kaien), and I doubt Central 46 would even bother giving a traitor a burial. Finally, and perhaps most tellingly, Rangiku's monologue carries a strong note of finality with all her talk of moving on. All in all, it looks like Rangiku is saying she will go on with life now that Gin is dead.
*** Except that shinigami corpses don't dissolve (Examples: Aizen's fake corpse, Tosen's dead friend); only hollows do that. Kaien disappeared because he was possessed by the hollow. And Rangiku's soliloque doesn't explicitly say he's dead. The translation I read had her say "I ''have'' always liked that about you." Have includes the present (as opposed to had, which is strictly past), and speaking of someone in the present implies they are still alive. As for burial, even if he isn't buried in Seireitei, he would still have to be buried somewhere.

* Wasn't Grimmjow's "death" "confirmed" too, at some point? Nevermind that being "dead" probably wouldn't keep Kubo from having them reincarnated or their spirit-particles harnessed and re-used or something equally ridiculous... or he could simply change his mind. I mean, it's Kubo we're talking about here...

[[WMG: Isshin isn't exactly an ex-captain. Instead, he's from the Royal Guard.]]
We know the royal guard is sometimes tasked with killing some hollows. Maybe Isshin was assigned to kill Grand Fisher, but as one from the Royal Guard, his reaitsu level would prove fatal for most humans around. So instead he used Urahara's untraceable gigai, which drains the user's spirit power, and that's how he lost most of his powers. In his staying he met Ichigo's mother and the rest is well known.

[[WMG: Tsukushima's powers can't affect Uryu]]
Why, I'm not sure; maybe Quincies have dealt with this sort of thing before and trained to deal with it, maybe the nature of powers negates that sort of thing, or maybe quincies have an elemental type advantage over Fullbringers in general. Whatever the case, Uryuu will be instrumental in restoring the other characters by applying some quincy technique to them.
* Jossed, Ginjo and Tsukishima specifically decided NOT to bookmark him, to see if Ichigo can tell the difference.

[[WMG: The man Kageroza visited in Bleach episode 330 is his son]]
It would makes sense that Kageroza would go to such lengths for this young man if he were his son. This also leads into another theory I have about Nozomi...

In order to test whether or not Mod-Souls would work, Kageroza's son volunteered the use of his Zanpakuto Spirit as the first test. The test was a success, and the Mod-Soul that would become known as Nozomi was born, but the process left Kageroza's son in a comatose state. Initially, Nozomi - or Arazome Shigure - was loyal, but as the project went on, she developed a sense of individuality apart from Kageroza's son. When Project: Spearhead was shut down, or some point prior to it, Kageroza approached Arazome Shigure about returning to his son's body. However, because she developed a sense of individuality apart from Kageroza's son, she didn't want to go back, and fled, leaving Kageroza's son comatose, and with Project: Spearhead shut down, he hid the information in the Dangai, so that when the time came, not only could he create the Reigai, and fulfill his son's dream, but also forcibly return Arazome to his son's soul, freeing him from his comatose state.
* Jossed. Nozomi was another extention of Yushima's soul, turned into a Gikongan.

* Plausible, however it does seem to be going too far. Also, even if this was the case, Ichigo would be majorly messed-up afterwards. But then again, most people thought Ginjo's eye-cutting was just way over-the-top and obviously not for Ichigo's benefit, but looking back was actually necessary. If this theory is true, then it's likely there's an ulterior motive for his powers being restored.
* Jossed. Though it wasn't very likely at all anyway.

[[WMG: Ginjo and Tsukishima are working for some unknown greater power]]
Strong as these two are, their actual influential reach in the grand scheme of things is extremely limited; it's likely that anyone Captain-level or higher would stomp them in a fight, and they're still humans with a limited ability to perceive or effect spirits. If Ishiin and Uruhara simply wanted them beaten, they could have done it themselves effortlessly. They waited to see if Ichigo could regain his powers through dealing with them, and when that failed, Rukia restored his powers herself, because he'd be needed to face the coming threat.

[[WMG: The person behind Ginjo and Tsukishima is...Aizen]]
Really, I wouldn't be surprised. Aizen's still around, what're the chances that he was able to send Xcution after Ichigo from his cell? Maybe even using a mole in the SS. (Yes, I think that the entire organization was in on it from the start).

They've heard half-true rumors about his existence, what he is, and what he's done, and their endgame is to break him out of Soul Society's jail. They might even believe that Aizen is a god.

* In 463, Ginjo told Tsukishima to kill Shishigawara after the battle because he thinks his ability will be trouble if it's strengthened. The same could be said of Tsukishima, who also didn't receive Ichigo's fullbring.

Tsukishima's power is nothing short of broken; anyone without zero bonds or absolute dodging abilities is all but screwed. We have already seen what happens when he runs around in the human world. Next, we will see what happens when he gets into Hueco Mundo or, worse, [[OhCrap Soul Society.]] Whoever are left sane will only be able to struggle in horror as their own numbers dwindle and Tsukishima runs rampant--maybe even freeing Aizen.

When ichigo was training in the Dangai he became so strong he didn't need his inner Hollow so it was banished to Hueco Mundo and its been recovering and gaining strength so when ichigo finds it it will be a vosto lordes, arrancar, with all of his powers, techniques, and skills.

We could end up with a battle between the Vandenreich (and whatever allies they procure) and a coalition of Gotei 13/Visoreds/Fullbringers/Humans/Hollows/Arrancar and Espada.

...consists of Urahara, Yoruichi, Isshin and maybe even Ishida and more people we've already gotten to know for quite some time.

** Considering the attitudes of the Vandenreich's forces, it seems to be more of a matter of crushing their spirit completely, something that Aizen pulled off multiple times against anybody, and [[spoiler: As Nodt pulled off on Byakuya.]] Hell, if their leader is strong enough to pose a challenge to Yamamoto, then he may have the right to gloat a bit. Not exactly pragmatic, I'll admit.

There are only two ways this scenario could continue, either the 1st panel of the next chapter involves his bankai being stolen, or it is not stolen. In order for Juha Bach to not look like an idiot, stealing the bankai should be the first thing he tries.
* Further, when it is revealed why Ichigo's bankai couldn't be stolen, that explanation would extend to Genryūsai or the other way around.
* One possibly explanation is that it's "too hot to handle", and will burn through the attempt to contain it.
* Or the blonde member will ''attempt'' to, but is either 1) cannot be snagged or 2) Yamamoto swiftly destroys their medals before it can be done.
** Confirmed: They don't know the full power of Zanka no Tachi so they can't steal it.
** [[spoiler: Jossed: Turns out that's incorrect, they could always steal it, it's just so strong that the fake Juhabach/Royd Lloyd was ordered not to steal it because only the real Juhabach is capable of stealing it and controlling its power]].

It has been a thousand years but he doesn't look aged, and even comments that Yamamoto has gotten old. I believe he has been doing something to keep him young and strong so he can fight Yamamoto later. It will even be a key to his downfall when it severely ages or kills him.

Aizen was Juhabach all along. That's why he dosen't have a bankai, he's a quincy not a shinigami. The Vandereich wants to free him, that's the reason behind their attack.
* If he was a Quincy, he'd most likely not have a zanpakutou at all, and I guess we've all had enough of Aizen.
** The Juha Bach look alike had some kind of sword too, and I'm pretty sure he was a quincy. So Aizen might have a sword and his hypnothism could be a special skill like the Stern Ritters various abilitys. And yes, I too had enough of Aizen a LONG time ago, but maybe Kubo hadn't. Also, he's a troll, so he might make Aizen the villain agin just to piss everyone off.
** Considering the hard blow Bleach took with the terrible Fullbringer arc and the dangerous position it finds itself almost every week now in the TOC, the last thing Kubo needs is pissing off the remaining fans.
** Jossed, 510 reveals the Juhabach is most definitely not Aizen.

The guy that Yamamoto just sliced in half was the previous Juhabach, the new one is still hiding somewhere with none of the remaining Vandenreich aware of his existence.

Nor does the Zero Squad. It's all an elaborate lie. There's nobody there that can show up and save Soul Society. No former Captains that can fight on par with the Vandenreich members.

My reasoning is that, in the actual manga, they've been mentioned all of three times. None of them have ever shown up, and there's no concrete proof they exist. Plus with all of the Hope Spots of the current arc, it would be one more nail in the coffin if one of the characters manages to find the hidden location of Zero Squad, goes there to recruit them to help, and there's nobody there... and there never was.

* Unlikely considering Juhabach decided to flee before the Zero Squad could prevent their campaign from progressing.

* I feel that this is the only logical conclusion, unless Kubo decides to retcon Isshin's status as Ichigos biological father.

Isshin already appeared to be acquainted with Ryoken since before the start of the series. Masaki is a Quincy. Ryoken HATES Isshin.Why? Isshin failed to protect his sister. He atones for it by calling himself the last quincy. Uryu never met her as she DIED before she could meet her,preventing any knowledge of knowing he and Ichigo are cousins. He probably knows now.
* Jossed. Masaki and Ryuuken were engaged to be married forced by Ryuuken's mother in order to preserve tthe Quincy blood-line in chapter 530.

It seems pretty logical that the grandfather that trained Uryu was Ryuken's father, but what if Masaki were Uryu's mother's sister? This would allow both Ichigo and Uryu to be Jhuback's grandsons without contradicting established canon.

** Some souls get stuck in the human world because they have UnfinishedBusiness, like stalking their loved one. They are the ones who get "reaped." Those who don't have such stupid ideas can go to SS as soon as they die.

* No they don't. Remember all the souls Ichigo could see before becoming a shinigami? And english translation for shinigami is "soul reaper", which Kubo approved. What does a soul reaper do if not reaping souls?

Furthermore, if SS were a natural part of the reincarnation cycle, shinigami wouldn't be needed, the souls would automatically go where they belong.

Seeing as there needs to be a reason why Grimmjow is suddenly capable of defeating Kirge Opie so quickly when he was able to fight with Ichigo in his Bankai for at least a short time, my thoughts is that while the first form Ressureccion is like a Shikai, the Segunda Etapa is like Bankai. Extending from this, it's possible that Halibel has gained the ability as well.

** Not OP and not necessarily agreeing with this WMG, but... Because he knows it's necessary? Like, it's the Quincy's fault for destroying souls - the shinigami have no choice but to kill innocent soul society residents in order to keep the balance, and he understands that, therefore, if necessary, he'd even order such a thing himself. Or, alternatively... he's Mayuri. There's a reason the guy was locked away.

So because they were not "born" as Human souls initially, they exist eternally outside of the cycle of souls the Shinigami maintain, so a Zanpakuto cannot "purify" them like it would a normal Hollows, but "death" instead returns them to Hueco Mundo where they are reborn again and again, unable to die.

Squad 0 has done squat in the major battles, and the Kido Corps has been completely absent from them. We only know of two people who were in the Kido Corps so maybe they're at different Soul Societies avoiding the massive war back at home.
