''Yo-Kai Watch 3'' is a main series game in the ''Franchise/YoKaiWatch'' franchise developed by [[Creator/{{Level5}} Level-5]] and released for UsefulNotes/Nintendo3DS.

* Nate Adams and his family move to St. Peanutsburg, [[{{Eagleland}} BBQ]][[note]]"USA" in non-English versions.[[/note]]. There he, Whisper, and Jibanyan befriend a boy named Buck who can see Yo-Kai.

* DeepSouth: BBQ is this, with the local dialect being so thick that Nate can't understand it without help from a Yo-Kai. This is averted in Japan, where it's only specified as the USA, with the language barrier coming from Nate literally speaking a different language to the locals.

** There are superhero Yo-Kai named [[Franchise/{{Deadpool}} Deadcool]], [[Franchise/{{Batman}} Kaped Komando]], and [[Franchise/{{Superman}} Supernyan]]. The Supermanager is also a reference to Superman or Bizarro.

* MythologyGag: In the English version, Usapyon's name when he was alive was Danny, likely a reference to his Japanese VerbalTic "dani"

** The Bitty Rokit YBX robot model references [[VideoGame/DanballSenki LBX: Little Battlers eXperience]], another Level-5 game. Also, it's made by [[{{Creator/Hasbro}} Yasbro]].

** His father also experiences one at work; see NiceJobBreakingItHero and RealityEnsues below.

** Hailey is a fan of ''[[ShowWithinAShow Sailor Cuties]]'', a mix of ''Franchise/SailorMoon'' and ''Franchise/PrettyCure''.

* RealityEnsues:
** Despite the series being notorious for starting friendships very easily, Buck takes a while before considering to trust Nate enough to want to be his friend showing how friendships often take a while to be forged.
** A LanguageBarrier can often prevent someone from effectively working, as Nate's father is unable to communicate well with his coworkers ([[NiceJobBreakingItHero due to Nate befriending Lionquist]]), and he later moves back to Springdale with his family because of this.

* MissingSecret: The Indian restaurant in BBQ is seemingly just for looks. You can't ever enter it, and the only place in the game to buy curry is the Indian restaurant in Springdale. Perhaps it was DummiedOut?

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: A rare comedic example: At the end of the main story, Nate and family have to move back to Springdale, with his dad citing a "communication problem". Whisper realizes it's due to Nate befriending [[{{Omniglot}} Lionguist]] and taking him away from his dad, thus preventing him from understanding everyone.

** A language barrier can often prevent someone from effectively working as Nate's father is unable to communicate well with his coworkers due to Nate befriending Lionquist and he later moves back to Springdale with his family because of this.

* TwoGuysAndAGirl: The non-romantic kind. The main characters consist of Nate, Hailey Anne, & Buck

* GuestFighter: In ''3'', you can also recruit a [[Franchise/FinalFantasy Moogle-Jibanyan hybrid and a Jibanyan riding a Chocobo]]. [[VideoGame/TaikoDrumMaster Don-Chan]] also returns after being absent in ''Blasters''.

* SpecialGuest: The game features Chocobonyan and Mooglenyan, both based on mascots from the ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'' series. Don-chan from ''Taiko Drum Master'' also makes a return appearance after skipping ''Blasters''.

* TomatoInTheMirror: In the quest you recruit Whisper, he's the most frightened when you investigate the Tuxedo Man. It turns out that [[spoiler:He was the Tuxedo Man the entire time and didn't realize it due to him going to Yo-Kai parties late at night and took the appearance of a tall man in a suit.]]

** Lord Enma and alternate versions of himself, plus the posthumous Ancient Enma, can be befriended.

* SpecialGuest: The third game features Chocobonyan and Mooglenyan, both based on mascots from the ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'' series.

* NeverSmileAtACrocodile: The Yo-Kai [=OMGator=]. They attack your raft unless Whisper punches them away first.

* TwoBoysAndAGirl: The non-romantic kind. The main characters consist of Nate, Hailey Anne, & Buck
