II is a prequel to I. In I, the knight is already in the tower to begin with, and no matter which ending you choose he ends up back inside completely nude. In II the knight is still living in the king's castle and the tower is nowhere to be seen, untill you select the 3rd door at the end, which sends him to the tower, fully dressed and (judging from his reaction) clearly for the first time.

''Lucky Tower II'' is more in-depth, carrying more unique [=NPCs=], areas, and humor than the first. It covers the knight's quest first to help out the king, and then to find treasure buried in a tomb.

If he wasn't naked in the first game, but he's naked in the ending to the second game where he's teleported to the tower from the first game, then they are different visits to the same tower. The second game is therefore not a prequel.

''Lucky Tower'' is a series of Flash games. You play as Von Wangst, a golden-haired knight of bravery and manliness who is on a quest for treasure. He is also incredibly [[IdiotHero stupid and dense, not realizing just how badly he's messing things up or missing obvious clues]].

The first game has the hero going through a tower simply trying to find treasure or escape, learning about the dangers of the tower along the way.way.

''Lucky Tower II'' is more in depth, carrying more unique [=NPCs=], areas, and humor than the first. It covers the knight's quest first to help out the king, and then to find treasure buried in a tomb. [[spoiler:It's also a {{Prequel}} to the first Lucky Tower, as in the ending the knight can get teleported to the top of said tower.]]

* ExtremeOmnivore: Von Wangst can eat or drink many of the things buys from the various merchants, ranging from normal food like vegetables and cake to human blood, frog vomit, bat wings and potions from the alchemist, and even a dead rat or a brush.

* HereWeGoAgain: no matter which door you choose at the end of the first game, Von Wangst will end up back inside the tower. [[Spoiler: except this time, he's naked]]

Added DiffLines:

* ImprobableWeaponUser: some of the weapons in the second game are quite strange or extraordinary, like a giant lollypop, or maces, swords and staffs made from vegetables.

Added DiffLines:

* MeaningfulName: Sir Damokles from the second game, who [[spoiler: dies when the [[SwordOfDamocles swords that are hanging above his head]] fall down]]

Added DiffLines:

* SideQuest: one of the ways the second game is more fleshed out than the first one is by including multiple of these, including finding a bart's lost trumpet, or a wanderer's lost brother.

to:

* BalefulPolymorphBalefulPolymorph: halfway through the first game, Von Wangst is turned into a snail or a frog. This is necessary however to make it through a narrow hallway.
* CuttingOffTheBranches: the second game has three endings; [[spoiler: in the first one Von Wangst becomes king, in the second one he dies and becomes a ghost, and in the third one he ends up in the tower from the first game]]. But since this game is a prequel to the first one, only the third ending can be considered canon.

* {{Jerkass}}: Von Wangst can be quite a jerk, escpecially in part II. Examples are taking money from a beggar, killing an alchemist for his clothes, and blackmailing a stable's owner.
* LargeHam: Von Wangst, in every sense of the word.
* {{Narcissist}}: Von Wangst again.

!!!Tropes in the games are
* ActionizedSequel: A common complaint about ''Lucky Tower II'' is that it focuses more on action this time around, but the actual combat is rather dull compared to the puzzles, silly choices, and dialog from both games.
* AscendedMeme: In ''Lucky Tower II'' there are a great number of recognizable memes that can double as shout-outs. The pure memes are:
** When the stable's owner is threatened with the diary, he will relent and give the hero a horse, singing, "Look at this horse; this horse is amazing. Now give me my diary back!"
** The Medusa enemies [[spoiler:in the crypt of the old king]] wield shields to cover their faces. Lowering a shield, one can see the "Me Gusta" face.
* RuleOfThree: In the first game you are commonly shown three doors and only one is correct or has the answer to a puzzle. [[spoiler:At the end of Lucky Tower II, you get your choice of three doors. Picking the third one reveals that it was a prequel to Lucky Tower I.]]
* ShoutOut: The hero seems to like his references as much as he likes his cake.
** When you talk to the alchemist, asking for the shop will cause the hero to say, "Show me your goods," [[VideoGame/FZero in a memetic way]].
