Heck in the PS1 version the unreachable red brick above the castle for the first Knightmare-Athon shortcut can actually be easily seen while racing due to the castle lacking towers on its roof. While on the PC and N64 the brick is hidden behind the tower so you have to drive out of your way and into the right spot in order to see the unreachable brick.

* ClassicCheatCode: The first game has a whole slew of cheat codes that are solely meant for messing around, such as turning all the power-ups to one time, having them always maxed out, making parts of the cars invisible (such as the wheels, chassis, or driver), and a fast-forward mode. They only work in Single Races and [[NoFairCheating are not activated if you play Time Trial or Circuit Mode]]. The second game also has a few, though not to the same degree as the first, as the only ones that exist are playing as Martians and a wide-angle view.

It is also worth stating a game taking a heavy amount of pages is nothing out of the ordinary if the saving is a tangential part of the experience and not the main data you care about (for example, ghost data in ''Mario Kart 64'' takes 121 pages), but it's not very excusable when it's mandatory and it has that high of a space requirement[[/note]]. ** Many of the PowerUp abilities in ''LEGO Racers 2'' closely mirror those of ''Videogame/MarioKart''. This is most blatant with the ninja Power-Up, which turns your car invisible (preventing the homing missile from homing in on you) and gives you the ability to steal other players' Power-Ups, just like the Boo Power-Up from the ''Mario Kart'' series![[note]]Unlike the Boo Power-Up, though, the ninja Power-Up does not disable collisions, and you actually have to physically collide with another player in order to steal their Power-Up.[[/note]]

* PowerupLetdown: Yellow + one white in the first game is...arguably worse than yellow with no white. Yellow with no white lays down an oil slick that causes the player who comes in contact with it to spin out; it stays for a fairly long period of time, so if you're a little ahead, there's still a chance that a player could run into it. A yellow and a white throws a stick of dynamite behind you that does the same as most projectiles, sending the player flying upward and slowing them down. The problem is that it works more like a backwards projectile rather than a trap, meaning that if there's nobody immediately behind you, it's a complete waste.

A MascotRacer similar to the ''VideoGame/MarioKart'' series, you can use weapons to help you. In this case you collect colored blocks for different types of power-ups, and collect white blocks to upgrade power-ups. Red are projectiles-like weapons, yellow are traps, blue blocks are defensive shields, and green blocks are speed boosts. To the point that these exact type of pickups are ripped straight out of ''VideoGame/DiddyKongRacing''.
